The WWE is the world's largest wrestling promotion corporation. Founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in 1953 as Capitol Wrestling Corporation, the organization now hosts more than 500 events per year across the globe. In 1982, McMahon’s grandson Vincent K. McMahon bought Capitol Wrestling and was fundamental to turning the WWE into a widespread and enduring sports entertainment product.
Initially, McMahon built up the WWE roster with future superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper and Jesse Ventura and launched the organization’s annual marquee event, WrestleMania, in 1985. Over the years, WrestleMania has offered plenty of unforgettable moments like the Hulk Hogan-André the Giant championship match in 1987, the generation-shifting face-off between Bret Hart and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in 1997 and The Undertaker’s 21-year winning streak at the event. The WWE will celebrate the 40th annual WrestleMania in 2024.
By the late ’80s and early ’90s, there was a full roster of hardcore brawlers, including Shawn Michaels, Hart, Ric Flair and "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who were later joined by a new crop of “Attitude Era” stars such as Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H and Mankind as the organization grew into a touring juggernaut. Another infusion of talent joined the WWE during the late aughts and early ’10s, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.
The WWE continued to reinvent itself as it created the separate Raw and SmackDown brands in 2002, launched various offshoot brands including the ECW and WWE NXT and introduced a 24/7 streaming network in 2014. The companies behind the WWE and mixed-martial arts promoter Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) merged into TKO Group Holdings in 2023.

Best show ever thank you wwe for coming to Calgary and putting an amazing show for the whole wwe fans
Had a AWESOME time , went with my brother had great seats and love every second
Great to see wwe back in Calgary especially a tv show Fan had a great time Wish the doors opened 2 hrs early before the show to give enough time to get shirts drinks & food felt rushed Hope they bring another show soon!!
Unbelievable showing! Wasn't expecting Edge to show up and we witness a title change hand on top off ALL The Bloodline making an appearance. It was almost like watching a pay per view! WWE now need to come back every year instead of every 15-20 year. Definitely a 5 star live showing ☝️
The event was absolutely incredible and getting the tickets through Ticketmaster was a seamless process. Crazy value for money considering that I got to see all my childhood superstars!
It was a great experience and a awesome event they need to come to Calgary ,Alberta more often
If you are a wrestling fan you must go to a live event sometime in your life. The energy was so much fun.
Loved the show. We had a great time and an overall fantastic experience
Was able to snag a last minute affordable ticket to the show and it exceeded expectations! The price variance among seats in the section I sat in was staggering but for what I paid I was very satisfied!!!
My son and I had a great time at WWE Smackdown!! We were originally in level 200 seating but due to a TV production lighting change for the event, we were offered seats 8 rows up from ringside! Straight up amazing time! Being that close to the action, there is no other way to experience it! Highly recommend!!
Good show, great surprises and really good wrestling overall
Over this past year I've been to house shows, a raw, Elim chamber 2023, summerslam 2023 and wrestlemania 39. House shows - if you're a WWE fan and want a good time, go to these. No commentary no commercial breaks, just good wrestling with the wrestlers interacting with the crowd. Raw/smackdown - BIG disclaimer, you won't hear the commentary team. If you have kids or wanna take a friend to a show, go to Raw or smackdown. The awkward part is the commercial breaks because the wrestlers have to stall to get back from break. Still fun if you follow the story, if not you might be a bit lost. PLEs - these are INCREDIBLE. Definitely go to one if you have the chance. Match after match after match. Before each match they give you a promo of the story so you don't feel left out if you haven't watched the weekly shows. Wrestlemania - same as the PLEs Wrestlemania was so much fun. It's a once in a life time feeling when you get to see certain acts play out. Roman vs Cody for example. I went to both nights which was definitely worth it.
loved the first live event cant wait to experience this from the second row in the front near the stage ramp 🥹🥹🥹
The WWE house show is better than the televised WWE live event because wrestlers interact way more with the fans, such as signing autographs and taking selfies at ringside (though mostly kids get that privilege) and even listen to fans who chant requests, like Kevin Owens did pull out a table during a street fight match. There is less fillers, and matches are better quality too as they don't follow a formula for time constraints. The only downside from this event is because I sit near the entrance ramp (northeast floor), sometime people seated in front of me either stand up or lift huge signs which obstruct the view, I had to turn on my cellphone camera like a periscope to see. Another reason I don't give 5 stars is because of Coca Cola's no backpack policy. I traveled from Hamilton to Toronto and spend all day in Toronto, so I had to bring plastic water bottles to finish before the event in a reusable shopping bag, which I had to fold in my pocket to avoid issues, and had to prevent myself from shopping on that day. I think the bag policy is stupid and way too strict, why is a duffle bag not allowed and only tiny purses are? Not everyone live in Toronto nor drive there, people take public transit too.
This event that took place at Coca-Cola Colisuem was amazing and by far a really good one just like it is all the time when its held here in Toronto and hoping to see it again here what we call a house show thank you for everything your's sincerally Terry!
It was a sellout house. The show started strong opening with a title match and closing with a title match. Unexpectedly got to see Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn along with LA Knight having two matches. One against none other than Kevin Owens. Great show.
Absolutely amazing show. All the matches were perfect, everyone performed flawlessly. Couldn't have been a better show. My Family and I thought the Kevin Owens - LA Knight spot + Match was the best part of the night.
Some of the match’s could have been a little bit better. But the main event way very good. Would like to go see another some time soon
Delays. Extended autograph and selfies with the audience after the matches. Incredibly boring and a waste of time. It was like they were killing time for a reduced match schedule. Never experienced this before.
