The WWE is the world's largest wrestling promotion corporation. Founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in 1953 as Capitol Wrestling Corporation, the organization now hosts more than 500 events per year across the globe. In 1982, McMahon’s grandson Vincent K. McMahon bought Capitol Wrestling and was fundamental to turning the WWE into a widespread and enduring sports entertainment product.
Initially, McMahon built up the WWE roster with future superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper and Jesse Ventura and launched the organization’s annual marquee event, WrestleMania, in 1985. Over the years, WrestleMania has offered plenty of unforgettable moments like the Hulk Hogan-André the Giant championship match in 1987, the generation-shifting face-off between Bret Hart and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in 1997 and The Undertaker’s 21-year winning streak at the event. The WWE will celebrate the 40th annual WrestleMania in 2024.
By the late ’80s and early ’90s, there was a full roster of hardcore brawlers, including Shawn Michaels, Hart, Ric Flair and "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who were later joined by a new crop of “Attitude Era” stars such as Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H and Mankind as the organization grew into a touring juggernaut. Another infusion of talent joined the WWE during the late aughts and early ’10s, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair, CM Punk, and Becky Lynch.
The WWE continued to reinvent itself as it created the separate Raw and SmackDown brands in 2002, launched various offshoot brands including the ECW and WWE NXT and introduced a 24/7 streaming network in 2014. The companies behind the WWE and mixed-martial arts promoter Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) merged into TKO Group Holdings in 2023.

It was great. Don't really watch wrestling on TV..but now I will for sure.
it was great !!!!!!! the promoters in edmonton have to bring them back more often
lots of fun and will go again next time it comes .. you all should go get drunk and have a good time ... we even got moved from nose bleeds to the lower level it was sweet
My daughter and i had the best time, ever! We are both great fans of the WWE. The best experience was being able to give the Great kali a high five. The whole thing was great except the drunk guys behind us.
The show was really great and should come back more often. It was filled with fun and excitement!
Despite some initial issues with seating for the event, the Rexall staff was quite professional in solving the problems. The WWE event itself did not fail to entertain. With the expected glitz and glamor of a live WWE event, the entertainment value exceeded expectations. As much as I enjoy the TV version of wrestling, it just does not compare with the live event. It's quite easy to get caught up in the excitement of the event.
Raw put on a great show...most of the main event attractions were featured, the crowd was amazing! Ticket prices were very reasonable.
it was a awsome show but was dissapointed for undertaker not being there.but would highly recommand for everybody to go.
It was amazing! If they ever come to Edmonton again, i would definetly go! It was worth every penny, hands down! I really liked it because it was exciting and very entertaining!
First live WWE programming attended...if you are going to do anything in you life, experience the WWE experience...
Loud, sexy girls and action packed. Tonnes of merchandise to buy.
I took my son to his first ever live event, and all I can say is thank you to the WWE for coming back to Edmonton! We had an excellent evening, saw some favorites and even cheered for some questionable characters...(Chris Jericho)!!
the energy in the Saddledome is second to none when the WWE comes to town. Wrestling has a deep tradition in Calgary thanks to the Hart Family and it shows every event we get. My wish for the folks at WWE is that they make Calgary a more regular destination, and my hopes for the people of Calgary is that they get a chance to see a one of a kind entertainment event. The price of tickets is unbeatable and the show is incredible, if you've never been do yourself a favor and check it out when they come to your city.
So the wwe comes to Red Deer for the first time in like 6 years or something and what a huge disappointment that was. First off they had no talent there. It was all guys who are on the roster but barely fight any more. Like what the hell. Were was ray masterio or any of the other high flying acts. Terrible. Next as fans you couldn’t do anything. I was removed from the venue because I got into the mood of wrestling and started to cheer, I guess a little to hardy for the big WWE host. He kicked me out for getting involved with the show and having a little fun. I was not the only one removed from the show for this!!! I can not believe how terrible the fans were treated at this show. I’m a huge wrestling fan, and a big promoter of the Prairie Wrestling Alliance here in Alberta. I go to those shows often and they are a blast!!!! But I will never ever spend one more dollar on WWE again......period!
The show it self was awesome. The dark match afterwords with Jeff Hardy and CM Punk could have been a bit better, but nonetheless still worth going!
I had never been to a live Monday Night Raw event for the WWE...I've been to Smackdown, non-televised events, and a pay-per-view but never a Raw. The wait was worth it! The doors opened promptly at 5:30 with the show starting at 6:30 exactly. I don't know if either of these apply to Ticketmaster or WWE but I can say that I was happy to receive my tickets from Ticketmaster about a week after I bought them. The show was fun and I was glad that I drove the 6 hours from Lloydminster to Calgary to see it! My only complaint is that ticketmaster.ca wasn't completely compatible with Google Chrome so I couldn't get the floor tickets I desired. It took me a few minutes to realize it after they went on sale...but when I used Firefox it worked just fine. Hopefully we don't have to wait five years for WWE to return! Travis
It was an awsome live experience. Wish i didnt have some guys head in my view though.
Amazing show took my Girlfriends son for the first time and he loved everybit of it. WWE puts on an amazing show everytime they are here.
Great entertainment. Matches were great!! Only downfall sitting in the floor seats (7th row) was that with the tall people in front (or the ones that held up the signs every time they thought the camera was coming) you ended up watching a lot of the event on the big screen. Was even worse for the people behind us or the little guys around. Next time if we can't get seats in the first 2 rows we will get them in the lower section instead of the floor. Theatre style would have been better. Great group behind us. They had a chant for every thing. Lots of fun especially when we were cheering different superstars on.
What a great show, great stage, pyrotechnics etc. WWE never disappoints. Kudos!
