The WWE is the world's largest wrestling promotion corporation. Founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in 1953 as Capitol Wrestling Corporation, the organization now hosts more than 500 events per year across the globe. In 1982, McMahon’s grandson Vincent K. McMahon bought Capitol Wrestling and was fundamental to turning the WWE into a widespread and enduring sports entertainment product.
Initially, McMahon built up the WWE roster with future superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper and Jesse Ventura and launched the organization’s annual marquee event, WrestleMania, in 1985. Over the years, WrestleMania has offered plenty of unforgettable moments like the Hulk Hogan-André the Giant championship match in 1987, the generation-shifting face-off between Bret Hart and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in 1997 and The Undertaker’s 21-year winning streak at the event. The WWE will celebrate the 40th annual WrestleMania in 2024.
By the late ’80s and early ’90s, there was a full roster of hardcore brawlers, including Shawn Michaels, Hart, Ric Flair and "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who were later joined by a new crop of “Attitude Era” stars such as Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H and Mankind as the organization grew into a touring juggernaut. Another infusion of talent joined the WWE during the late aughts and early ’10s, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair, CM Punk, and Becky Lynch.
The WWE continued to reinvent itself as it created the separate Raw and SmackDown brands in 2002, launched various offshoot brands including the ECW and WWE NXT and introduced a 24/7 streaming network in 2014. The companies behind the WWE and mixed-martial arts promoter Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) merged into TKO Group Holdings in 2023.

lots of action, lots of superstars, perfect show! thx to wwe!
The show was amazing from start to finish, I took my 2 sons and they are huge wrestling fans and myself I enjoy it. The wrestling Federation put on a spectacular event for all ages and kept the crowd on there toes the whole time, there wasnt a bad seat in the house and I`m sure there wasn`t a person who would have a negative comment. I would go again in a second........thanks WWE & ECW
I feel that we in Canada for the most part, including last night, get second rate shows. The ECW show was boring, not much action at all, super quick matches, very disappointing. The Smackdown show really wasn't much better. Chris Jericho, whom most, I feel came to see, didn't even speak. He did make an appearance, doing colour commentary and ...wow...pushing one person. Rey Mysterio didn't even show up!.
Had a great time with the kids, Y2J sucks, Wish i could had gotten better tickets but over all the show was great.
I was able to get floor tickets with a FULL view. And, what a FULL view it was! So awesome! The superstars were amazing to watch! And knowing you were on T.V. just made you feel all that much more cooler! Sooooo much fun!
My husband and son went to the show to see their favourite wrestlers. It was my son's first time going to a live WWE event. He came home bursting with stories and excitement... Too bad, like so many of these things, the souvenirs were so expensive...
I found out why WWE has not been to Red Deer in 6 year, very poorly setup and lower rate performers on WWE's part of the show. Don't come back again to Red Deer!
Yesterday's show was awesome. I got more than expected. Starting from Benjamin to Jeff HArdy, boy it was amazing. I loved the Big show fight and specially the CM Punk and Jeff HArdy Match. It was a night to remember. Thanks a lot WWE for organising this event in Edmonton..... WWE ROCKS........
The show as whole was a good experince but could have been better ..i personally didn't like the idea of putting Jeff Hardy in a handicap and title steel cage match on the same night considering the fact that he had not recovered fully from the injuries he sustained last week... not only that but also having cm punk in more than one match in one night made the show kinda boring....as it laked variety in terms of superstars involved....next time please involve more superstars and please bring RAW to edmonton as i am a big fan of John Cena...cheers
Simply Amazing! WWE last night was juts unbelievable. Such a great show.
Event was great, Fans where awsome, Eneregy was Unreal.. Would of payed double for the tickets
Show was great. Seats were ringside. My children got to touch the wrestlers as they walked by. They were totally awestruck
it was absolutely amazing. they pyro was literally earthshaking, the matches were great, and the fact so many of the huge names were there was amazing. I took my dad for his birthday . it was his very first WWE event and he had a blast he was like a little kid
I was totally in awe last night at Monday Night Raw. I haven't been to a live WWE event in quite awhile and can't wait until they come back to Calgary again. The special effects were just great and so were the wrestlers.
It was a good night in Regina. My wrestling loving son had a blast cheering for CM PUNK. Even though he was being booed by 99% of the crowd. He was happy when PUNK won the match. He was able to wave the sign proudly. Over all the matches were exciting and kept us on the edge of our seats as we cheered. Me and my son enjoyed it alot.
I have watched the WWE for a long time and on August 10 2009, i went to watch WWE'S RAW , which was amazing. You only get 1/4 of the experience watching at home. I got to see Numerous superstars. The exitement never stopped, it was breathtaking. Even after the event was over I still felt the adrenalin and the excitement! I would watch the WWE again if i had the chance. It was well worth the money!
Great show and Entertaining as always.would like to see Bret Hart Show up one day and let go of the past and show some Fan appreciation who have been loyal to him for years.Shawn Michaels and Triple was great and Shawn will always be remember for his legacy he leaves us remembering for years to come.
A solid night of enterainment with not only the two hours of Monday Night Raw but two matches for WWE Superstars that preceded the Raw broadcast. The WWE superstars performed well and the fans were really into it. I hope it won't be as long this time (a handful of years) until the WWE retruns to Calagary again.
some matches were ok some others let to be desired.overall ok show
I have waited to see this show since I was 8 years old, my expectations were as high as they can get. I was not disappointed in the least, my expectations were actually reached and surpassed. The energy was amazing, the show was amazing, it was the best night of my life and I will never forget it.
