    The Xperience of being X'd!!

by ReiLEMONed on 2011-01-01Massey Hall - Toronto

This was probably one of the best moment of my life that I will never EVER forget!! I just can't. I found out about this band when they got back together (2007) and i am soooo greatful to know this band and to be born to have gone to their concert!! I really DONT care what some people think of this band unless it's positive...Their music really touches my heart and I get this emotional rush when I listen or re-think the fact that I saw these legends before my eyes!!! I think XJAPAN knows we love them alot in toronto because Yoshiki began crying at some point. I'm not from Toronto (i wish i lived there) BUT i have to say the 7 hour car ride was worth every moment of it. I woke up at 6am and arrived there at 1:30pm-ish. I even felt sick on the car ride. besides the traveling, I would do this AGAIN and AGAIN and countless times. they just...blew my mind and touched my heart so....omg...amazingly? is that even a word? lol in any case. it's 4am right now and im waiting for the tickets to go up so i can buy them. I might wait a while though. I didnt like the guards, they were rude, and one of them asked me if i had my ticket. i was thinking "WELL OBVIOUSLY since im here" but i think he said that cause I ran up the ally. hahaha ^^;; i think i deserved a better view since I was like...i cant describe the feeling. was awesome. Maybe they thought i was going to jump on the stage? I dont think so. dont want to get kicked out so. lol The opening was frickin' HALARIOUS. First off, Vampires everywhere does NOT deserve to be the ones who open this glorious moment. in fact, their screaming was an epic fail. obviously no one gave a single hoot about them because when the singer asked everyone to stand up to prepare ourselves for XJAPAN because they were comming soon, no one did. so me and my friend were getting a headache from his screaming. and even got bored we yawned. in anycase. XJAPAN owns my soul. every member does, and everyone dont forget about the pink spider hidechan!!! ;D Okok, bye bye!! thanX for the tickets ticketmaster lol. Massey Hall was a nice place!! i dont like it if they are too big or else u cant see the band. :)

    X Japan- Phenomenal

by maglev on 2010-10-21Roseland Ballroom - New York

The wait was long, with the drummer himself providing free pizza to everyone waiting in line right before the show. The line wrapped around the entire block at least once, and the crowd was already going crazy before the opening act even got onto the stage. Vampires Everywhere tried their best to get the crowd going, but as their music was quite different compared to X Japan, the crowd unfortunately cheered the most when they announced that it was their last song. When X finally appeared on stage, the crowds got dangerous. The moment that Yoshiki (dr.) stepped on his stool to gaze at the audience, the magic had began. Toshi (vo.) was fantastic with his perfect vocals and was great in getting the crowd pumping with the first song, "JADE". Heath (ba.) and Pata (gu.) were easily charming the left side of the venue, with the newest joined member, Sugizo (gu.) manning the right side. The crowd swayed back and forth as it was like a battleground for the people near the front of the stage. Sugizo took a break when "DRAIN" started, with Heath filling the unoccupied right side of the stage, one of the rare times that he's moved about on stage. A sweet violin solo started afterwards from Sugizo, with Yoshiki joining him on the piano afterwards for the song after, "Kurenai". As it was on Toshi's birthday, fans sang "Happy Birthday" to Toshi as a surprise, with Yoshiki wheeling out a gigantic birthday cake. Yoshiki replayed the song on the piano with Toshi giving off a warm smile. Next, their new song "Born to be Free" was played along with "I.V." (which was featured in the SAW IV OST). During "X", the crowd went wild with everyone doing the famous "X" sign in synchronized motion with the song, with Toshi screaming "We Are..." to the crowd. Yoshiki jumped into the crowd, and with fans clinging onto him for dear life, it took some time for him to be helped out. Although there were some hurt fans, none showed any pain as the song went on. Another intermission settled the crowd to a softer ballad, but before it started, Yoshiki had a message to the audience, explaining his first encounter with Toshi and the struggles that X has went through. Making sure that the crowd remembers hide, "Endless Rain" started, with Pata, Heath, and Sugizo sat on the steps. The crowd chanted the chorus while they sat and listened to the magic of music. A part of a near half-hour song, "Art of Life" was played at the end, with Sugizo starting off with some violin before Yoshiki showing his magnificent piano skills and drumming skills before ending the show with their usual photos and bows. It was definitely an unbelievable show, and for non-fans, this was definitely a show that will turn you into one. Although bass and guitar solos were not entirely granted during this performance, plenty of piano and drumming solos were in order, with the occasional violin performance. The only downside to the entire concert is that the moment is ruined when you look around and everyone is either taking pictures or filming. Although it was great that there was not too much restrictions in regards to that, there must have been many (myself included) that could not see for more than half the concert due to the tall hands and cameras that blocked any view of the front. Many stayed at the front of the venue afterwards to talk about their experience with fellow fans, while others waited at the back of the venue in hopes of seeing a glimpse of their stars.

X-Japan gives the their best every single time!

by dokodemo on 2010-10-18Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I've been to so many performances, X-Japan by far has outranked every one of them. A lot of people don't recognize the other band members, and I don't understand why. Sugizo's violin solo was just more than outstanding, and woohoo for his flare when he plays. It was beautiful. In terms of Toshi, I'm glad that his voice has become much more in shape compared to 2-3 years ago. Toshi's voice and Yoshiki's music as touched so many of us during our darkest times. Even though the members are in their 40's, there is absolutely no way of telling, especially when their performances are so touching. I'm just sad that Hide can only be with us from above...Forever X-Japan <3

X Japan is about music, and their music is amazing

by Spectre on 2010-10-15Roseland Ballroom - New York

X Japan were amazing! The concert remained focused on its centre-piece -- their music! Other than the usual light effects, there weren't crazy acting, nor any unnecessary stuff. Their music and musicianship (and their individual stage character) more-than-fulfill the requirements for an amazing show. The birthday song and birthday cake for the singer -- Toshi, who happened to have his birthday on the show date -- was a nice touch, as was the free pizza to everybody lining up outside prior to the show. I would travel to attend their concert again (and bring my friends too)!

    Epic Rock

by NikSix on 2010-10-11Massey Hall - Toronto

Absolutely amazing. I have been waiting for years to see X Japan and it was well worth the wait. Epic vocals from Toshi on 'Endless Rain" and "Kurenai". Audience participation in the former was haunting and wonderful as the voices echoed through Massey Hall. Sugizo on violin was amazing and one of my favourite moments. Yoshiki shows why he is as famous as he is with stunning piano playing and epic drumming.

    Toronto Gets Xed!

by chirish on 2010-10-10Massey Hall - Toronto

For it being their first time in Toronto, X JAPAN rocked the stage at Massey Hall with an unforgettable and energetic performance. To be such a big fan and have watched so many live DVDs, actually being a part of it was a time myself and my friends will never forget and always cherish. Not only was it awesome to jump around and head bang to X JAPAN, but it was also a beautiful experience, listening to their ballads and Sugizo's lovely violin solos. It was just such a fun show overall. Singing along, jumping, dancing, screaming all made the night. The entire crowd was excited and it's like we were all friends, experiencing this amazing show together. All the members looked fantastic and played wonderfully. They were so warm and full of love towards the crowd and made the evening so memorable. This was definitely one of my favourite shows to date.

    The GREATEST concert EVER!

    by D3sign on 2010-10-10Massey Hall - Toronto

This was my first concert ever and I HIGHLY doubt any concert in the future can beat it (unless I go see them again! I hope they come to Toronto again >_<). I sat in the highest level and on the side and it was still great! I do not regret a single thing except that I should've paid more to get a better view. Their music is amazing and inspiring. Full of feelings in Toshi's voice and the energy flows greatly from the music. The small concert hall made me feel more connected to them so it was great! Toshi even looked up at my area and I swear if he took off his sunglasses, I would see him looking at me!! The next day, I lost my voice from singing along with full energy and my bf strained his neck from head banging. Hahaha I did not really like Vampires Everywhere... it was not my thing with the growling in the mic and stuff. I recommend everyone to listen to X-Japan and watch their shows. They are really fun!! And the crowd was awesome too! Thank you so much!~
