Yeah Yeah Yeahs blew the roof

by Kcie on 2009-08-12Kool Haus - Toronto

The Yeah Yeah Yeah's were awesome. The venue was mediocre. The audience closest to the stage was full of douche bags. Overall it was a good show.

    A Must See

by HeatherJ on 2009-08-12Kool Haus - Toronto

YYYs are an amazing live band. They're so energetic that you'll lose 5 pounds just from dancing/jumping/singing/screaming. It's absolutely, without question, worth it to go see them despite the long wait period between the doors opening and the first set, and the first set and the YYYs set. Lots of confetti, include shiny red Ys that many people shoved in their pockets to take home as a souvenir. Nick took photos of the crowd, as always. The band's energy and happiness is infectious. Karen O was smiling throughout the entire show, and the whole band rocked it. So good!

Say Yes to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs....

    by Toast212 on 2009-08-12Kool Haus - Toronto

They have amazing energy and we're almost even better live than on their album! They really have a unique sound that is unlike most other groups! I would see them again for sure.

    Sweaty Dance Party!

by TOcloh on 2009-08-09Kool Haus - Toronto

I danced like I've never danced before. Amazing live act, with tonnes of energy. Karen O, you are one of the best frontmen out there (frontwoman?).

You have to see them before you die!

    by harley27 on 2009-08-09Kool Haus - Toronto

The YYY's were highly entertaining and full of energy. Karen o was jumping and twirlling and dancing all over the stage. They get the audience hyped and then they feed off of that energy. Karen was smiling the whole performance along with Brian. They were so happy to be there and so appreciative of the audience. Nick took breaks to take photos of the audience. The band have amazing chemistry, they play so well together. They played a variety of songs including an old single called Machine, and a couple tracks off their first album. They played for a resonable amount of time that included an encore in which they played Maps. Every single person in the audience sang every song at the top of their lungs, this band is loved beyond belief and they love their fans just as much.

    Best Show Ever

by DanGallan on 2009-08-09Kool Haus - Toronto

I had high expectations for this show, especially since I bought "Tell Me What Rockers to Swallow" before I ever saw them live. The show exceeded any and all expectations I had for them. Packed full of energy in combination with an almost perfect setlist (really hoped to hear Way Out and Cold Light) made this show the BEST show I have seen-bar none.

    The Yeah Yeah Yeahs

by maddietheyeahyeah on 2009-08-08Kool Haus - Toronto

I absolutely loved Karen O's energy and the bands over all performance was fantastic, , the only reason it was short of a 5 star review was that there was such a long wait between doors open and the opener, as well as between the opener band and the yeah yeah yeahs, plus the overall wait time was at least twice as long than the band performed, for a great performance, still worth it,

    Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Oh Yeah!

by tscott on 2009-08-07Kool Haus - Toronto

This has to be one of the best concerts I have ever been to. The opening act, Amanda Blank, really got the crowd going before the main act came out. I would definitely recommend her cd to anyone who likes electro/house/rap music. When the main act actually came out, seeing Karen O was amazing. She made the crowd scream and there were many great sing-along moments and when the band came out for the encore and Karen came out with her now infamous black leather jacket with her initials on the back, the crowd went insane. Also, when she made the Y shaped confetti come out, the concert became unforgettable.

    Yes yes yes!

by LadyS on 2009-08-06Kool Haus - Toronto

A surprise opening band and countless instrument checks made the waiting period long and annoying. It was 2 and 1/2 hours after the venue doors had opened when the Yeah Yeah Yeahs finally appeared. Needless to say, their apparence immediately washes all boredom, tiredness and annoyance away. True, you don't hear the same powerful Karen O shrills as in studio-recordings, and whispered bits are often lost in the noise of the crowd, but otherwise their sound is perfect. There is little showmanship from drummer Brian Chase and guitarist Nick Zinner on stage, but Karen O's energetic performance is sufficient for all three.

This was by far the best performance I have ever seen. They sounded exactly like their recordings, if not honestly better. Also, they worked the crowd and had fun!!!

Yeah Yeah!! For the Yeah Yeah Yeah's @ Kool Haus

by Boppin on 2009-08-06Kool Haus - Toronto

I was lucky enough to get tickets to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's second show at the Kool Haus for Wednesday, August 5th. My friend and I went and we got there around 9 pm. They went on shortly after. They were everything I expected and more. They played songs from their first and second albums. Maps was definitely the highlight of the night for me. They did a 4 song encore and Karen O sounded so clear and perfect along with her high energy performance, you wouldn't know the difference between hearing her on their cd and live. They were in such good spirits thanking Toronto numerous times for being such a great crowd. Great band, great band live, great band all around. SEE THEM IF YOU GET THE CHANCE!!!!

    Dance, dance, dance!

by Sammi on 2009-08-06Kool Haus - Toronto

Oh my! How good was that? Karen O is truly a shining rock 'n' roll star! Even though I was somewhere in the back, there was certainly no lack of energy in the room. The opener, Amanda Blank was great too! Incredible!

Was it a great show? Hell YEAH

    by nf07zh on 2009-08-06Kool Haus - Toronto

The Yeah Yeah Yeah's were fantastic start to finish, with all the band members holding their own and showing how talented they are at their craft. Their performance of songs of their latest CD It's Blitz were probably the best songs of the night, even outshining their 2nd albums' songs. Only takeback from the night was that they played for approximately 75 minutes, which isnt short, but the standard seems to be about 90 minutes for a set, and there were definately solid tracks that remained unplayed (Is Is, 10 x 10, Way Out). They had a ton of energy into their songs which made up for this.

Band was tight! but... venue sucked

by crimsonsketch on 2009-08-06Kool Haus - Toronto

The music was great, the setlist choice was excellent, and the dramatic presence of Karen O was unforgettable! I thought the venue was way too hot, and it's a bad set up from stage to audience, which makes it nearly impossible to see the band. This meant the people around me were shoving and teetering on tiptoe to try and see better - which meant more than once I got someone's hair in my mouth.

    Yeah yeah yeahs were epic!!

    by rissa90 on 2009-08-06Kool Haus - Toronto

They were so cool. Played songs even from their old albums but most of all played "Zero" and "Heads will roll". Plus it was at Kool Haus which is an amazing place to hold a band like them:D
