Yeah Yeah Yeahs Rock the Stage

by Roxyfoxy on 2009-08-05Kool Haus - Toronto

I definitely give props to the group. They put on a great show. The venue was not that great (Kool Haus) because if you were shorter then 5'5 (standing room only), you were guaranteed to get a person that you couldn't see over. She didn't do the big drum part from Maps, she did a more acoustic version, so I was a little disappointed with that. Amanda Blank opened for them and she was amazing too.

Lots of energy. Slight costume changes and good light show. They are great stage performers. I enjoyed myself.

    Oh Yeah Yeah Yeah

by PEEK on 2009-08-05Kool Haus - Toronto

Masterful understanding of what it is to be an earnest rock band. Performing, engaging and connecting are traits few modern acts carry. Karen O should define this generation.

    TOTALLY KO'd

    by awarrior on 2009-07-26Clutch Cargo's - Pontiac

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs were everything I had hoped they would be and more. Karen O is a half Korean Amazon woman, dressed like a go-go dancer, channeling the prince of pop (MJ) while dancing like the King of rock & roll, (Elvis Presley). The show was thrilling and dancey as hell. I loved the backdrop of the giant eyeball that became the moon for her to croon her ballads to. Loved, Loved, Loved it.

    Yeah Yeah Yeahs

by Lyss on 2009-07-13First Avenue - Minneapolis

One of the most amazing shows I have ever seen. Super high energy, tons of dancing and the crowd was so into it. You could tell by the look on Karen O's face that she was pumped to be there and her enthusiasm was easily displayed throughout the set list. A friend and I drove 8 hours to see them, and we would do it again in a heartbeat.

YEAH YEAH YEAHS Rocked my Socks

by ycontrol on 2009-07-13The Pageant - St Louis

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs completely surpassed my expectations and I can safely say they were one of the best live shows I have ever seen. Karen O's stage presence was charismatic, quirky, and as unforgettable as ever. They played every single song one would hope and did it with a true love of live performing. We flew all the way from Calgary, Alberta to see this show in St. Louis and would do it again in a heartbeat. The band wasted little time on "filler" during the concert and instead played song after song after song after song and closed with an encore that left everyone babbling with excitement. They certainly deserve a rating of 5/5.
