As the title says, the band was great but probably better suited to a little smaller venue. Unless the sound engineers were the problem. The crowd sucked, big time. Half left when the two opening bands were done.
Le show était bon.
I love YTG sm and seeing them live was a dream of mine for many years. The concert didn't disappoint. It was a magical night, the sound was great and I really enjoyed the light show, as well as the decorations. The only thing is that there were 2 bands playing before YTG, so the wait was a little long.
Amazing show all three bands were awesome, event staff at Place Bell had the night coordinated perfectly.
Got the tickets from Live Nation concert week, this gives me a chance to see shows I would not usually go to at a good price and discover new stuff. THX!
Un show digne de ce nom! Un jeux de lumières de fou, j'ai adoré le show avec eux et Milky Chance!!
I wish Milky Chance was the main attraction. Young the Giant is technically impeccable, but their songs aren’t as great as Milky Chance’s.
Awesome show put on by opening acts Talk and Milky Chance. What a light show by Milky Chance!! Just wow !! Young the Giant was amazing, performing their newest as well as their older songs. The venue has great acoustics and comfortable seating. Only drawback is how far the venu is in terms of location, but it’s worth the trip to see great artists like Young the Giant !! One observation I’d like to share is that I thought that the people leaving DURING the performance of Young the Giant were totally RUDE!! If they came to see Milky Chance or Talk, they should have left at the intermission! It is distracting for those of us who are true fans and were there to enjoy the show and support the band(s) for their incredible talent !!
Waited way too long to come on stage let the energy of the crowd die and when they did come out it was very flatline everything was bang on just missing soul and feeling
Great vocals and energy! Sound quality was amazing! If you closed your eyes you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the recorded and live versions.
This was my 3rd time seeing YtG and they did not disappoint. Tight band, great lyrics and music. Hearing their latest album 'Home of the Strange' performed live, made me fall in love with the album just as I did with Mind Over Matter and their self titled debut. The Sound Academy is also a really nice venue. Nice acoustics. Definitely look forward to the next YtG tour and my next concert at Sound Academy!
Great show! Will definitely be going again if they come back!
Amazing show they put so much energy into it ou can tell they really feel the music! They played both their old stuff and their new stuff and Vance Joy opened for them and was unbelievable!! Beautiful set too
Both Vance Joy & Young The Giant kicked butt! I wasn't quite sure what to expect (only knowing about 5 YTG songs... but they were wonderful live!)
excellent performance !!! with out a dought the next "death Cab for quitie"
They played very well. Obviously the band is very talented and I wouldn't have expected anything less. I did like how they mainly stuck to songs that were a little more upbeat. The cover of Formidable sung by Francois was fun - a little clichéd though. Like of course you play the French song in Toronto. They don't really talk much, which is something Sameer said from the start they won't be doing much of, which is fine, but it makes it less personal I'd say. Overall a good show. The venue is just ok, which is pretty common knowledge - bass and drums overpowered the guitar, and it's kind of hard to understand acts when they speak inbetween songs.
Super pumped crowd made Young The Giant play even better. They played loud, long and hard, even doing a French song C'est Formidable by Francois the drummer from Pierrefonds, QC. The crowd went wild. Even the band acknowledged how good the atmosphere was. Unforgettable show.
Young the Giant are an incredible live band. They're so together as musicians yet each instrument stands as its own element. Coming together in a live setting makes for such a beautiful multidimensional experience you can't help but get lost in the music. Sameer's vocals were just amazing. Never shying away from high notes, he belted out every high energy song yet showed restraint when singing the slower ones. Overall it was a high energy, amazing performance and you could feel the audience's overwhelmingly positive response, dancing and moving to each song. Young the Giant are just amazing.
If you haven't seen Young The Giant live, as you're reading this now, you are losing at life. Their stage presence is amazing and entrancing, Lighting was great, even the opening band (Vance joy) Is worth checking out (the drummer is DOPE) I waited a while in the cold, but that's just me. :) I didn't mind because I love YTG! Overall a really great experience, great music is always worth the wait, And this was definitely worth it. GO WATCH THEM.
