  • Chip off the old block

The closest thing I will ever experience to a Bob Marley concert. I never saw him live, but when you close your eyes and listen you'd never know you weren't listening to Bob, then you open your eyes and have to do a double take because Ziggy looks so much like his father. That's not to say he can't stand on his own as an artist. He plays almost entirely original songs from his vast catalogue of tunes and they stand up with any Roots, Rock Reggae music of the past 30 years. He did play a couple of his Dad's songs, One Love and Is This Love, which were both amazing. He had a full backing band but they mostly just hid behind their instruments, there wasn't much interaction between any of them with the exception of the backup singers, who were a sideshow all to themselves dancing and singing all night. They came out to the front of the stage on occasion to get the crowd involved. Overall an amazing night of reggae music from one of the best of the genre. By the way, the sound and the mix was spot on tonight, everything had just the right amount of emphasis which probably added to the enjoyability of the show as this isn`t always the case.

  • Ziggy was late!

Ziggy was a half an hour late and only played one and one half hours. Was disappointed he didn't play a bunch of his best songs, what can you do in 1.5 hours. Sorry concert was not longer as i. love reggae

His voice is amazing and his musicians are extremely talented however the show lacked momentum and there was very little interaction with the audience given the intimate venue. Still very glad I went.

  • best concert of my life

by cherld on 2016-10-03The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was the absolute best live show I've ever attended (and I've been to hundreds of concerts). The energy of the crowd and of the musicians was absolutely incredible. Ziggy's message of unity, positivity and strength was displayed in each song. He even played a few of his dad's classics. It was a night I will never forget. Definitely going to see him again next time he tours.

  • Ziggy is all about good energy !

by Don81 on 2016-10-01The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was very acoustic knowing it was a theatre. The whole band was raw and just pure talent. 2 female vocalists that sang with such purity. Ziggy played a lot of his material and his dads. Not only did he move like Bob but sang so identically, it was like seeing him reborn. All his songs were so meaningful and messages that are all about love. Hearing it live is no comparison to cd. Lead guitarist was epic ! Bass player was grooving it and every other band player was making everything feel alright!
