“Petrushka” was my favourite piece, followed by “Firebird”
I loved the Alberta Ballet's performance of Nijinsky - the four world premieres reimagining his revolutionary ballets. The dancing was superb - as always - but the choreography was stunning! Petrushka was my favourite - such a completely unique and beautiful portryal of this story. It was all wrapped up perfectly with incredible costumes that gave such life to the performers. I will definitely anxiously await another chance to attend the Alberta Ballet!
A tribute to one of the greatest dancers of all time - an appropriate & beautiful way to celebrate Nimjinsky. Loved the short story format from different choreographers. If you haven’t been to Alberta Baller this season you are missing out.
I took my granddaughter for her first experience of a professional ballet production. To say we had an incredible night of dance is putting it mildly! I commend the choreographers and dancers for a night of absolute magic!❤
New movement, while channeling Nijinsky. Fresh and bold, I loved it.
There was four of us, three generations aged 6 to 74, and everyone was utterly mesmerized by the story, set up, and the world class performances!
First time to such a show. Great performance by very exceptional athletes and artists.
It was an amazing show—pure magic from start to finish. The production, the music, the dancing—every performance told the story beautifully. If I had to choose favorites: Beauty and the Beast, the Queen of Hearts (“off with their head!”), Jasmine, Puss in Boots, the White Rabbit, and the swans. Truly incredible. The most perfect first ballet experience I could have asked for.
I forget what it's like sometimes to put down my phone and sit in the moment. This experience had me captivated and truly in the story. The dancing was lovely and and I even found myself laughing. I brought my teen boys who are very big into sports. I want them to be well rounded and also love the arts. I was watching them watch the ballet and they were leaning in and truly entertained. We will be back for more shows. Thank you for keeping culture in our city!
The Alberta ballet put on a phenomenal performance. Once upon a time was original, funny, emotional, and full of talent. I was blown away by the ability of the dancers to not only dance with power and grace but tell a story through hand gestures, facial expression and dance. Looking forward to the next event.
