Perfect combination of popular songs and songs only true Monkee fans would know (all of which were great!) Everyone played well. Both of them interacted with the audience and had strong voices and energy!
At both the soundcheck and the show, each&both men were in fine voice. They sang well, Mike played well. The band was excellent. I went for Mike Nesmith, hoping he'd be in good Mike Nesmith voice and guitar (knowing Mickey's showmanship and vocals would be 5-star). Neither of them disappointed. And the band they had could not have been better
Mike from the monkees was in tip top shape. He Energized the Crowd.
The concert was very nostalgic for me. The very 1st album i owned was The Monkees in 1965. Would have been better with orig. 4 but overall a very enjoyable night.
Two incredible sets covering some of the "deep tracks" of The Monkees and some great tunes written by Mike Nesmith (e.g. Different Drum in a country style). Two tracks from the 1968 soundtrack to "Head". How cool is that in 2018 ? Probably 15 songs in the first set and maybe 17 songs in the second set. One of the best concerts I have attended in recent memory. Well done Micky and Mike and backup band (pedal steel, fiddle, etc.).
Great set list, fun show, great musicians and band. Micky was great and so was Mike, good to see them together as Mike usually sits out. I hope we see Pete join them also soon.
I counted just 5 “oldies” songs of those I remembered. There was a ton of fill in songs to keep everyone happy. Mickey D and Mike N did a good job of presenting the venue. Their effort was appreciated and the performance was polished. Seeing it once was enough unlike going to see legend Neil Sedaka who I have seen 5 x and would see again even though he is 79 and slowing down. His performance is 5 stars in comparison.
They were fantastic to see live, playing lots of classics, as well as a few new songs. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
A great night of music from two of the original Monkees! The voices were good and the backup band was terrific! Micky is always a pleasure to see but the addition of Mike to the show was a great bonus (especially considering that he rarely goes out performing Monkees tunes)!
Loved this show...Mike and Mikey had a 9 piece back up band - all very talented performers. Played many of their big hits from the show days, and some of their newer material. Both of them still have it in their 70's! Very entertaining...would recommend this as a great night out for all ages. Thank you guys...had an amazing time!
