I waited over 45 years to see MIke Nesmith perform live and it was worth the wait! The backing band including Mike's son Christian was great. I loved that they decided to perform some songs they have never performed live before including Mike's "Good Clean Fun" which sounded great live. Although the funny banter between Mike and Micky was minimal they both were still warm and funny and Mike told the story of how our beloved Canadian band Tragically Hip got it's name from one of Mike's segments of Elephant Parts. I thought both Micky's and Mike vocal chops were pretty amazing considering they are both in their 70's. Micky's singing of two of the excellent songs from their movie "Head" was a highlight for sure along one of all time favorite songs from that film "Circle Sky". It was a concert I didn't want to see come to an end. It was a like a wonderful dream for this life long Monkee's fan. Felt truly blessed to be able to be there and witness such an incredible night of music by two classy, talented performers.
Wonderful show. Exceeded my expectations by a 'country' mile. ;)
What a fun concert and the musician ship second to none.
A fun concert. It took me back to my childhood. Lots of opportunity to sing and dance. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Really enjoyed the show . Mike and Micky were great..... love the nostalgia. Loved that they threw their personal touch into the show! They still got it! Venue perfect!
Best show I’ve seen in years. We got upgraded to row one centre.
With only 2 members of the group I did not except to get the same quality if all 4 where there. I was surprised at what a fantastic job Mickey & Peter did. Would recommended this concert to everyone.
Saw them in Vancouver, sadly without Mike but great show. Loved the selection, took some great risks and they can play and sing just fine. But about this review... "The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor - Sat, Jun 4, 2016Posted 06/07/2016by mrsdomi28 This Fan's Reviews Didnt really enjoy it. only knew a few songs and i was a big monkees fan. thought peter was quite annoying. Favourite moment: when they sang daydream believer" Saying you're a big Monkees fan, then saying that you only knew a few songs and your favourite was Daydream Believer? Doesn't really compute. At least half the songs they played in the Windsor setlist were their biggest hits.
Enjoyed ourselves. Would recommend. Mickey can still hit every note.
Didnt really enjoy it. only knew a few songs and i was a big monkees fan. thought peter was quite annoying.
The Monkees were great on their 50th Anniversary tour! The tribute to Davy was unforgettable. Both Mickey and Peter sang their hearts out and we had a great time!
GREAT SHOW, WELL WORTH THE MONEY AND WOULD GO AGAIN! MICKY AND PETER WERE UNBELIEVABLE
My hubby and I went to see the Monkees. I was a big fan, he is a great husband :) I was pleasantly surprised by how many songs I knew. Mickey sounds great and I loved hearing Davy singing the songs he was famous for. If you are a fan, you will enjoy this show!
MIckey Dolenz and Peter Tork still know how to entertain . Mickey's voice is trademark Monkees sound. They had a good back up band to complete their classic sound.
I was looking forward to seeing the Monkees and they didn't disappoint!!!
Very nostalgic to see The Monkeys on Friday night. Sweet guys, so down to earth. Peter so funny, just like he was 50 years ago!! Mickey can still belt out a song! Still has a great voice. Loved the show, it brought back so many memories of a lovely youth when we lived for the next The Monkeys show on TV. I remember going downtown in the middle of the night to line up for tickets to their show. Great stuff.
Great concert. 90 minutes of fun. I would see them again.
What can you really expect from a band like the Monkees? Either you love them or you don't. I happened to have grown up listening to them and their music is very sentimental to me. My first album ever was "Meet The Monkees". I was 8 years old! I'm now 55! The crowd was pretty much a "geriatric" crowd and very subdued. It must be difficult performing in front of such a lackluster group. Of course Micky Dolenz just turned 70 last month! In summary, I really enjoyed the show, I'm glad I went, but I would not see them again unless Mike Nesmith was with them. The back up band was really good!
Great show! Although Peter Tork's comments through the evening were odd. Mickey had to buffer a few comments, because Peter's comments weren't funny. Didn't like that the Last Train to Clarksville was played in a slow temp. Everyone wants to hear the original. Loved the whole show regardless.
