    Eminem made the weekend!

by gratedbrayder on 2014-08-13Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

If it werent for Eminem I would have left. The shuttle service sucked! I think you should be able to park in your camp site. Having to park that far away and carry all your stuff to the camp site was the stupidest thing. also how much camping space you have sucks. When I arrived the people next to us had set up their tent way over their line and left us with less room than we paid for. The price for the 3 day weekend camping and festival pass was outrageous and the only reason why I stayed was for Eminem. And cold showers? Cummon like really you would think after all the money people spent to go there they could at least get a decent shower that isnt colder than the river or lake. And if your going to have a tent set up to charge phones, have enough space for everyone and make sure you have a sufficient power supply that doesnt shut down. If there is someone I want to see next year I will only be getting a day pass and I will recommend the same to anyone that plans on going for the weekend again

    Squamish is a mess

by Zehhr on 2014-08-13Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

So many things were wrong with this festival. Nowhere to drop off your stuff at the campground. An awful shuttle system to get to the campsite. Camping was in the sand. It was a mess. No hot showers. Dirty outhouses and you had to walk half an hour from the campsite to the festival grounds. The stages at the festival were also very far apart. This festival definitely needs some improvement!!! Charging statioms were a joke. You cant charge till someone comes back to get their phone!!

    ALL ABOUT EMMINEM

by marina222 on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

I am writing this review for my kids. I have talked to them all and was even there to check them in. Would they go to an event like this again ABSOLUTELY, but really 400.00 for camping. how can you even get away with that and then have the nerve to charge for showers. Thank goodness they were able to camp on grass and not the dirt and dust they were supposed to be in. If you are going to charge that much for camping I expect more space and a decent camp ground area. They all feel very strongly about this. The parking was a JOKE I had to talk to one of your people because I could not purchase parking because you had sold out!!! Over all this event was a success but extremely over priced. I f it were not for Emminem being there, would think twice about paying so much!!!!

Awesomely organized this year, was a big fan of the inclusive shuttles on a regular basis throughout the day to get everyone to and from their campsite safely, the cashless wristbands and the clean washroom facilities !

    Experience of a lifetime

by Navi64 on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

I really enjoyed my time at Squamish Valley Music Festival. Next time though I am going to do VIP. And just a note - The security was a bit overkill. Let people be and when they are not causing any problems why security causes them problems. Sometimes I think security in these events goes on a powertrip.

Highlight of the summer for the 3rd year in a row, artist lineup is diverse and the dj's at night set up a great atmosphere

    Overall...GREAT!!

by VANTASTIC on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

Overall the weekend was great!! The shows, events, vendors, people working & overall event was fantastic! There was always something to do weather it was at the event or just outside the event area. The only issue was security!! The security did well with presence but severely lacked in communication of what they wanted, just bad! Everything else was great!!!!!

    Parking Issue

    by bonbon1967 on 2014-08-12SVMF Parking - Sqamish

I went to the Festival for the first time with my two daughters and was really pleased with the security, the food, the venues, and most of all the music. Overall is was a wonderful experience that I really enjoyed. I paid $45 for the day parking and was happy to see that you had staff to keep the flow of traffice going and get us to our correct parking area. However when we left the festival at 11:30 on sunday night to head home to Coquitlam I was in for a different experience. I was in lot 10 at the end of the road and it took until 2am for me and my family to reach the Sea to Sky Highway so I could start driving home. There was no one directing traffic except at the one intersection and I was not impressed nor was anyone else sitting in that lot. I would recommend having more staff available at the end of the night and finding different ways for the traffic to flow instead of all lots flowing into one area way to create a bottle neck that was never ending. This was a ridiculous way to set up parking and then to charge people for that kind of treatment, not impressed

    Eminem made the festival

by CrystalLynn on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

The actual festival was great!! The only problems were with the camping. To start off we backpacked there, taking a shuttle from Vancouver. Once we were dropped off in Squamish we went to get our camping passes, we were handed off from staff to staff trying to get our camping passes. Once we eventually got the right information, we were told we had to go to a different town about 15 min drive down the highway. When we asked how we are suppose to do that as we don't have a vechile, we were told thats our problem not theirs. We ended up having to take a cab wich was very expensive. Also we were told to bring electric grills for cooking and there would be community cooking stations. There were no cooking stations! All the food we bought had to be thrown away. These issues affected a lot of people, and thousands of dollars of wasted food. Squamish Music Festival could have feed and watered an entire country in need with the amount of waste. There were also few other issues, if I do ever go back to the festival I will be finding other accommodations.

Arcade Fire and Eminem! really need I say anymore?

by TeeDigi on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

The festival was amazing. I can honestly say Arcade Fire Reflektor is hands down the best concert I have seen to date. Eminem was amazing. After waiting nearly 15 years for his return the crowd was electric! Bruno Mars was great too I didn't know his music well but what a performer. I really could not have asked for better acts! the food vendors were plentiful and the food was decent with a good selection. The merchandisers were great and I picked up a couple shirts at $30 each. A tip though if you are going to buy any shirts buy them on day 1 there was nothing left after the Eminem show on day 3. TO DATE THIS IS THE BEST MUSIC FESTIVAL I HAVE ATTENDED the only thing that sucked was the camping which I highly recommend you skip.

    SO Unorganized

by abgirl28364637282 on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

The music itself at this festival was great, good bands, good food, festival grounds were good. But the whole camping, parking and getting to the festival experience was horrendous. Especially after driving 12 hours straight in the dark! We got to the line up to get our camping passes and be directed to park, unload and set up and once we got our wristband s literally NO ONE knew where to go or what was going on. When we asked volunteers where our campsite grounds were no one even knew our campground existed (we were in triangle, there was also square circle and diamond). We ended up getting directions from a local who had seen people setting up a campsite and said we should try it. There were no addresses given to us and the worst map I've ever seen... didn't even have road names on it. Then on top of that we had to park about 25 minutes (walking) from our campsite, about a 30 minute walk from the festival itself, and the shuttle buses were incredibly unreliable, and half the time when they finally showed up they were too full to pick us up anyway. Not to mention we were doing all of this walking in plus 30 degrees Celsius and hotter. By far the worst organization I've ever seen. Really put a damper on the whole weekend having to walk so far to do anything and get anywhere.

I've never walked so much in my life

by Finny88 on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

Concert line ups were great and food availability was awesome but everything else was a horrible nightmare. I travelled all the way from Ontario on what I thought would be a vacation but instead all I did was wait in lines and WALK everywhere. Enjoyed concert music but the fact that I could only get a drink after waiting in a line to get into beer garden to only wait in another line to actually drink to then wait in a bathroom line to do it all again. FOOD was amazing in that there were countless options and everything tasted great. Biggest FAIL of this whole festival was the camping. Absolutely brutal. I paid $350 to sleep on crushes gravol, have a sand storm of dirt everytime I got a nice breeze that rarely came with the no shade "camp" site. Dirt/gravol entered all of my food and drinks. I couldn't cook my own food without bringing an electrical cooking device and none of these conditions were made known until days before festival. Had I known any of this I would have spent the money on an actual camp ground or hotel. Complete waste of my money.

BRUNO, EMINEM, ARCADE FIRE and NAS KILLED IT.

by feechyb on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

Overall I think this festival was amazing. All the bands killed it and the variety of genre was impeccable. However, the lack of garbage cans made it frustrating, and people surcombed to just toss it on the ground which is horrible. I would also recommend not overlapping shows. It became incredibly frustrating when two bands you wanted to see were playing at the same time at opposite ends of the venue. Perhaps start the festival a few hours before to avoid this.... Lastly, the water top up stations were put in areas in which crowds would be walking through, which caused major congestion in major walkways. Other then that, this fesitval was amazing, especially for my first one. I cannot wait to hear about the lineup for next year... however I am very unsure if you will be able to top the headliners this year. absolutely amazing.

    Squamish Festival delivers!

by cplus on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

Great venue, amazing weather and the best line-up they have had so far. The festival is a must see, close to Vancouver, no traffic and easily accessible. My only beef (which is a BC issue), is the beer gardens. It's annoying that we cannot drink beer anywhere on the grounds. Maybe our liquor laws will change someday soon. Otherwise, the festival comes highly recommended by me and a ton of my friends! Nice work Live Nation!!

    not worth all the money

by Anonymous on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

Price way to high for the total line up. Better festivals with better lineups (not just headliners) charge less. Add on fees on everything. Bit of a shake down.

    Too much walking!

by Jojo20 on 2014-08-12Loggers Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields - Squamish

The concerts were amazing, and the overall organization of the festival was pretty good. However, having paid $125 for a parking pass, I wasn't expecting to have to walk nearly 30 minutes to get to the festival gate. It was really hot, and this was just too much walking when we paid so much money.

Bands were amazing. Beautiful day. Some complaints about the place. Beautiful scenery, but some shade needed. Also, a day pass at $170 is a fair price to pay, but on arriving I found out we needed to pay a one time fee to add cash to our wristband. To add cash for cash there is a fee?? It was only 3.50, but after spending $70 easily on food and drinks as it was so pricey then the remaining $4 I had on my wristband couldn't buy anything and I was told there was a 3.50 fee if you wanted $ returned. So I left spending another $7 for nothing, but after bus there for $50 return it ended up being a very expensive day. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
