To start with, the seating in the main floor area was terrible !! Uncomfortable chairs, tied together !! A large woman sat right in front of me. She blocked the whole view of the stage. I could not move my chair, so I had to lean to one side to peer between her and her partner. There was a large monitor on the wall, that let me see Mr. Lightfoot, but I paid to see him perform live, on stage.
Mr. Lightfoot came on stage and started his first song, but had to quit before the end. He had to sit down and they gave him oxygen. It seemed uncertain that he would be able to continue.
But, continue, he did, for the next hour and a half.
I had purchased his recent Solo album, so I knew that his voice would not be the same as in his younger days.
It was rather sad to hear him, trying to get through each short version of his hit songs. His voice often cracked and even went silent at times.
I am still glad that I attended his performance, but left feeling very sad, that age has taken away his familiar voice.
