    seeing a legend

    by howlinr on 2009-10-16Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

its not often you get to see a living legend in the kind of setting a casino provides. i would have preferred to have seen the show at the river rock casino in richmond bc or the red robinson theater in coquitlam bc because these venues are a true theater set up. the showroom at snoqualmie was nice but we sat at the side and had to turn our heads the whole night. i have been a huge fan of gordon lightfoot ever since i was a kid. he is probalby the reason i learned to play guitar and sing. gordon is certainly getting older and it shows in his voice, but not his heart and soul. the band was right on the money, obvious they have been together for quite a while. i would like to have heard him back in the 70's. all in all, it was a good show...

It was an excellent show. Gordon played most of the favourite songs. His voice is still very well tuned. I would recommend this performance to anyone.

    Gord does it again

by gregs on 2009-07-24Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Gordon Lightfoot's concert at Meadow Brook was an enjoyable experience. He seemed more nostalgic than in previous concerts; explaining why songs were written and to whom they made reference too. He is aging with grace and dignity.

gord gave a good solid 2 hour show. early morning rain talking about elvis's version, old dan's records, pony may, painter passing through, lots of old hidden gems, and familiar friends. gord was very chatty.
