About

"Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album."

    Bonnie was perfect

by MrBillofPrior on 2017-06-04National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

The show was nothing less than perfect. I can't believe how fast the night went. And she followed with a extra half hour encore! A great mix of new and old favourites. I could have listened to her all night. The first time I saw her was in Toronto, in the early 70's, which inspired me to start playing slide guitar. I wish I could personally thank her for that.

A fantastic show by Bonnie Raitt and her incredibly talented band. The show surpassed my expectations. The sound was perfect. The music crisp and exceptionally well delivered. The song set was changed up on the fly adding to the wonderful personal engagement with the audience. A great show.

Excellent show. Bonnie still has the passion and fun doing the show as much as I had watching and listening to her. Seemed like she wanted to play all night.

    Bonnie Raitt Sassy and Rockin'

by Blackfisk on 2016-04-25Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

We flew from Edmonton Alberta Canada to Reno Nevada to see Bonnie Raitt. She did not disappoint. The opening act California Honeydrops were great. Excellent musicians and singers. They slayed the crowd. Then Bonnie Raitt came on and took us on an amazing journey of past and present. She is a generous and gracious ring leader to a band of stellar musicians. She was everything we anticipated, sassy, introspective at times, a master of the guitar...several guitars....and entertainer. Her stories about life and life on the road were hilarious at times. Her reverence of the passing of Prince and many performers from her early years showed her to be humble and thoughtful. It was worth every cent we paid to travel that far. Bonnie Raitt was on our bucket list and our bucket overflowed last Friday evening.

Second time seeing Bonnie Raitt and I'd go again!

by YYZ1973 on 2016-04-11Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

It was only a few shows into the tour and she was recovering from a cold but as the titles suggests she dug in deep and delivered an amazing performance. Her guitar has always been and remains flawless and she is very entertaining live. I particularly enjoyed her subtle take on the current U.S. election.

Was a wonderful performance, warm up band was great. No lights, no glitter, just great music, and her backup band - top notch. There was not one negative thing about it! So lucky that she comes to Toronto. Such a humble performer.

    Bonnie Raitt was awesome

by KareMair on 2016-03-20Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

My husband and I recently went to Bonnie's concert in Toronto. We have always loved her music. She was so personable, it was like seeing her at a house party. She has a genuine bond and appreciation for her band, for fans and life and general. So awesome, I would see her again in a heart beat.

    Bonnie just keeps getting better

by Delores3 on 2016-03-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

We saw Bonnie Raitt at the Sony Centre in Toronto on March 15th. It was the third time we've had the pleasure to see her perform and the best show yet! She did some songs from her new album, Dig in Deep (which is awesome) and some older favourites. Great band, terrific audience, fantastic show!

the band & Bonnie did not sound like they had ever

by PatbigFans on 2016-03-18Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Played together before. Not one of her songs sounded clear and concise. A couple of times I could barely figure out what the song was. I was so looking forward to this event & was rather disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed Bonnie Raitt's concert on Mar. 15 in Toronto. She was down to earth and although suffering from the after effects of a cold she was truly fantastic. A great show.

    Bonnie was amazing!

by gradon on 2013-11-20Orpheum Theatre - Boston

Bonnie Raitt was absolutely amazing - having just turned 64 years old, we thought she might have slowed down a little and might be talking her way through the songs but that was definitely not the case. When she sang "I Can't Make You Love Me" - it gave me shivers. Her voice was so full and powerful - breathtaking! She also looks fantastic and is a great entertainer. Loved every minute of it.

Man, did she ever rock the house. Her songs were beautiful, the event was wonderful and sometimes I felt like I was home listening to an album. A fabulous concert, I would see her again.

    Awesome Bonnie Raitt concert

by RidinthePines on 2013-11-18National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

The whole experience was awesome!! Great seats - you can't get a bad seat at the NAC, played a lot of her most recognized tunes, and even the opening act was great - not always the case for the opener.

I'd love to see her perform again

by BobEl on 2013-11-18National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

I wasn't a big fan of her's before the concert and I wasn't sure just what to expect. She was absolutely wonderful. She has a laid back style and engages the audience. Eric Clapton could take "how to engage an audience between songs" lessons from Bonnie. She even went off the set list a couple of times but her band didn't miss a beat - literally. Her band was excellent. Mark Cohen, who opened the show, came back and did a couple of duets with her. Her brother David played harmonica on a couple of tunes. And she obviously truly appreciated her audience. She played tunes from her latest CD and dug back to her roots to play songs from her enormous repertoire. In the end it was one of the most enjoyable concerts I've been to. And, yes, I'm a fan now. One last thing I should mention, and this doesn't reflect on her personally, but the sound balance and quality left something to be desired. I've heard much better sound at the NAC.

Fantastic voice, related with audience well. She has some very talented musicians accompanying her. Mike Finnigan on keyboards could be a show on his own.
