STEELY DAN IN CONCERT:
Steely Dan is responsible for some of the most complex, finely crafted classic rock of the 20th century, and they continue to deliver on tour more than 40 years after their debut. Core members Walter Becker and Donald Fagen are legendary for their musicianship, and they only surround themselves with the finest players, making for studio-perfect live renditions of their virtuosic compositions. Whether fans are out to wax nostalgic with "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" or sway in the breeze of "Hey Nineteen," Steely Dan never fails to deliver amaze, with another hit-filled tour planed for summer 2014.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Walter Becker and Donald Fagen met in the late '60s at Bard College in Upstate New York, writing songs together for several years before officially forming Steely Dan and releasing their first single "Dallas" in 1972. While the single sold poorly, their debut album Can't Buy a Thrill was released later that year to considerable critical and commercial success, landing the band their first hits with "Do It Again" and "Reelin' in the Years." They continued to climb the charts throughout the decade, reaching their peak position in 1977 with Aja, a No. 3 hit widely regarded as a seminal album of the classic rock era. Amid rumors of a return to the studio, the band will hit the road in 2014 for an extensive summer tour.

The acoustics/sound was terrible at the Sony Centre for a band like Steely Dan. However Steely Dan never disappoints so I ignored that fact. They played some old, not enough new bit still amazeballs, as always!
Steely Dan is better than ever. Very tight band and every song was a hit. The crowd loved them! This was definately one of the best concerts I ever attended.
The tightest of bands. 13 members and not one of them is a passenger. With a bevy of tunes that sound as fresh today as they did when released. See them while you still can. And the acoustics were excellent in the Sony Centre
For long-time fans of Steely Dan, this concert is a must. The band was letter-perfect, the line-up of hits was non-stop and we enjoyed every second of the show. What a fantastic night!
The live concert reproduction sounds like a studio album!
I started listening to Steely Dan in 1990 after being introduced to their music by my then boyfriend Jeff. 24 years later, and yes with the same guy, we finally got to see a live performance of the tunes that helped define our courtship, marriage and family life together. The concert exceeded our expectations and will be remembered forever.

This was by far the best concert I have seen in years! The band was killer, all the musicians are top notch pros and blew me away! Fantastic sound and a Great Venue (Caesars Windsor) I will be back!

30 Second Drum Intro and the band bursts into mid-season form. Seamless, smooth changes with beautiful harmonies that are pure ear candy. We never tire of listening to these musical treasures, No band has ever written so many extraordinary fantastic songs like these two geniuses. So happy they visit Toronto ever tour.
Awesome shoe, great venue! ' 10 piece band, 3 back up singers, and seriously... Donald Fagen was in the house!!!! :)
Great sound, great show, great venue , great set list, great individual performances. One of the best SD concerts I've seen to date. thank you Donny & Walter for opening "the vault" a wee bit more for the Loyal Dandom! the only negative on my list was the overpriced merch -- $45 bones for a Tee or cap??? :(
Fantastic concert Saturday in Toronto. Awesome sound at the Sony Centre. So much better than the Molson Amphitheatre, which I'll never go back to. Good crowd, too, dancing in the aisles.
I have been waiting to see Steely Dan since grade 9. They were wonderful, Sounded great!! The musicians they had with them were top notch. Well worth waiting 40 yrs to see!!!!.
There was nothing to 'steel', and no one to 'steel' it from ...these guys have owned it for a long time ...jazz rock fusion always with that cynical twist....delivered with a lot of class by one of the best bands you will ever see anywhere!!
I have been to quite a few concerts at the colliseum at Caesar's Windsor and have NEVER been disappointed. Friday night with Steely Dan was no exception. What a FANTASTIC show! Donald Fagen and Walter Becker not only proved that they still have it, but their band is second to none! These musicians are classy and deliver a great rock/jazz fusion sound that they call their own. I have been a fan since '78 and am for life! Well done guys!!
The concert was great! We did not regret that we spent 4 hours to reach Windsor from Toronto for this event.
Yes..it rained but in Colorado, at he world's best natural outdoor venue, no one cared. Great performance - 1970's style - accurate reproduction of album tracks...everything from Hey 19 to Time out of Mind...check the drummer - big talent with Keith Carlock beating the skins. Tight and professional for the whole show - encored with Kid Charlemagne. As we say - rather live in Colorado than America
This was the second time I saw Steely Dan at Molson Amphitheatre and they were every bit as good as the first time. Donald Fagen and Walter Becker always manage to get an exceptional group of musicians to tour with them and perform a great show. Hopefully they will be back again and I will definitely be at that show.
