About

Styx have endured for over five decades while staying true to their progressive rock sound and theatrical live show. Since releasing their self-titled debut in 1972, Styx have sold over 54 million records worldwide between 17 studio albums, 16 compilations and nine live recordings. Notably, the band released four consecutive RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums between 1977’s The Grand Illusion, 1978’s Pieces of Eight, 1979’s Cornerstone and 1981’s Paradise Theatre, the last of which became their first to top the Billboard 200. Across their career, Styx earned eight Top 10 singles on the Hot 100, including the chart-topping “Babe” as well as “Come Sail Away” “Mr. Roboto” and their 1990 comeback single “Show Me the Way.” Despite several hiatuses and lineup changes, Styx have become one of rock’s most consistent touring acts, hosting nearly 100 live shows every year for over two decades and netting career-best earnings on massive co-headlining tours with REO Speedwagon, Foreigner and Def Leppard. In 2021, Styx released their seventeenth studio album, Crash of the Crown.

    Great show except.....

by Michael on 2022-10-21Canada Life Centre - Winnipeg

Loved the music, Tommy Shaw still has a great voice. The only thing negative was Gowan. If he would just stick to singing, he did an ok job replacing Dennis De Young. but all the jumping around was very annoying, really felt like the spotlight always had to be on him. I get it if he is singing but when he's not singing its like he still needed it to be all about him. He is a one hit wonder and should act like one.

    Solid Styx

by Dubs on 2022-10-21Canada Life Centre - Winnipeg

Styx was high energy and the concert was a lot of fun. Some of the banter between songs was muddled. I can’t believe Heart didn’t play Magic Man-very disappointing

Great band, not such a great venue

by CD on 2022-10-21Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

We had a super time at the Styx concert. What a great trip back in time ... but also a visceral musical experience in the present with these accomplished musicians! The only drawback was the venue. This was our first event in the Abbotsford Arena. Given the mastery of the band ... virtuoso piano, guitars, bass and vocals coupled with great lyrics and tunes it is a shame it was somewhat dampened by the acoustics. We were on the floor so pretty close and central ... not sure if this is a common problem with that arena or if it was the sound engineering?

Great Show.... Considering The Lack of Communication

by Mattski on 2022-10-20Brandt Centre - Regina

Nancy kicked the night off with a great opening performance! She's still GOT IT! And as for STYX.... What can I say.... FANTASTIC!! BUT!! To the show organizers. You knew we'll in advance that this show wasn't selling as expected. So your plan to move all concert goers from their upper bowl seats without notice.... That was VERY disappointing! To put everyone through the hassle of having to go to the box office to receive "re-issued" seats on the spot.... Not very impressive!

Two Legends That Know How To Deliver

    by Papa13 on 2022-10-20Brandt Centre - Regina

Both Nancy Wilson and Styx can still put on a great, high energy show, even after doing it for 50 years. Everything was great, except for the old munchkin sitting behind us, who was complaining and raging about people standing up. I was able to snag a set list and guitar pick from Styx, to end a great evening.

by Cruzr on 2022-10-20Brandt Centre - Regina

The show was fantastic...the sound was very clear and not distorted..we had floor seats...they played many of thier hits. I would definitely go see them again.

Great entertainment. Excellent show. Good sound.

by Jorge on 2022-10-20SaskTel Centre - Saskatoon

A big screen could have been an improvement so as to see the performers closer. For all the empty seats, missed a great concert.

    Mastery of the Stage

by TSOFan on 2022-10-20Brandt Centre - Regina

After quickly recovering from poor sound mixing at the start of the show, Styx showed why they have been around for over 40 years by going through a history of song. Rockin the Paradise, Suite Madame Blue, Blue Collar Man, Long Nights, Lady, the list goes on. Larry Gowan, whether on vocals or not was his usual whirling dervish self, complete with the top hat and sparkling coat. He loves to perform, and his home country Canadian fans were eatng it up. Nancy Wilson's Heart opened and while definitely missing sister Ann's vocal talent, adequately filled a great opener slot. Alone was timeless, as she aluded to during the show, and her singer did a fantastic job, but it just was missing that little bit. A small crowd, boosted by ticket deals the day of the show enjoyed great evening of music

    Fabulous show!

by Bomberchick on 2022-10-20Brandt Centre - Regina

Fabulous night all around! Nancy Wilson and Heart were amazing, but Styx, as per usual, was phenomenal! We’ve seen them live 3 times, and they never fail to amaze us!

    Styx & Nancy Wilson

by Larry S on 2022-10-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Good show but sound was over saturated. Couldn't hear the voices over the music very well. Quieter songs were ok, but Pretty much hurt your ears loud.

    Worthy

by Brendo on 2022-10-18SaskTel Centre - Saskatoon

Was a very good, one of the best I’ve seen in awhile, disappointed it wasn’t advertised well as this band was a band in its time and still worthy after 50 years...

Didn’t go as Ann Wilson is Heart

by JMR on 2022-10-18SaskTel Centre - Saskatoon

I didn’t realize that is wasn’t the Actual Heart band. I didn’t use my seats in floor Row 7. Poor attendance and Styx members made up most of the Nancy Wilson Heart band . I heard Styx were awesome!

    Exceptional concert

by rocky on 2022-10-18SaskTel Centre - Saskatoon

High energy. Gowan was amazing. This is the best concert I have seen since the final concert of the original Chicago band with Peter Cetera. Tommy Shaw was as good as his early days. So much energy but just good rock and roll. This was a concert to treasure!
