About

The Doobie Brothers have produced some of classic rock’s most memorable hits. From the polished yacht rock sound of “What a Fool Believes” — a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and ranked by Rolling Stone Australia as one of the greatest songs ever — to the feel-good harmonies of “Listen to the Music,” The Doobie Brothers’ more than five-decade run has made them one of the preeminent live bands to see. Since their debut album in 1971, The Doobie Brothers have won two Grammy Awards, landed eight albums in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and sold nearly 50 million albums worldwide. The band has showcased their 14 gold-album repertoire on a globetrotting 50th anniversary tour that began in 2021 with the reunited lineup of Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald and John McFee playing together for the first time in nearly 25 years.

Show OK, signs for parking are lacking

by rb on 2023-11-01Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

performance was good, too many sax solos, get's to be too much. sound just average. seating on floor was good, but should have an area up from so that if people want to dance, they can go up there, instead of just getting up in their chairs and dancing, blocking the view for others, who many not be able to stand, and just want to watch. coming off freeway east bound is a big cluster****, because of traffic circle and traffic coming from overpass as well. there should be signs showing to stay in right lane on McCallum that can be taken all the way to the down, where $3.00 parking lot is available

    Disapointing

by Ouzo on 2023-11-01Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

The first song they came out with was a hit, and I anticipated the whole show was going to be like that, unfortunately the next 1.5hrs were songs I did not recognize or were from a new release. The last 45 mins was great There was no big Screens so it was hard to watch the band members

    Great Show

by Bones on 2023-11-01Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

Seats were excellent and The Doobie Brothers know how to put on a show. They saved all their big hits for the end and everyone rushed to the stage and sang and danced until the end. Given the median age of the crowd, it was a very civilized mosh pit lol!

    Some what disappointed

by Longtime Doobie fan on 2023-11-01Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

Had i known that Tommie Johnston was not going to be part of the show , i would have never purchased tickets , and fought traffic for one hour trying to get into Abbotsford Centre parking lot . Their performance was good for all of the Doobie Bros. that did take the stage

    Good But Missing Tom Johnston

by iceman on 2023-11-01Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

I enjoyed the concert but I must say I was disappointed to discover that Tom Johnston wouldn't be touring with the rest of the band for this show. Both his voice and guitar were definitely missed on the songs. I was also surprised the band didn't mention his absence. Otherwise a good time.

    Excellent musicians!

by Lols on 2023-10-31Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

The Doobie Brothers were so excellent. Loved the music. Couldn’t be happier with the band. The venue was really good except there was a steady stream of people going up and down the stairs throughout the entire concert. I’ve never seen that before. We were in section 107, seats 3&4. It was so annoying. You pay good money to see a band and had to put up with people continually blocking the view.

A Fabolous trip down memory lane

by Phil on 2023-10-31Meridian Centre - St Catharines

I saw the show in my hometown of St. Catharines Ontario , Canada on October 19 2023 Being a long time fan of the band I was wondering how one of my favorite bands was going to sound without Tom Johnston in the center of that stage. Well I was blown away how everyone took part in making it all come off fantastic, sending tears of joy running down my face during the first song and carrying it on through the whole show! Being a drummer and having played many of those songs many times over the years I was Rockin Down that Highway with the band and reminiscing riding my motorcycle listening to some of the finest open road music ever written! Thanks for bringing your 50 year show to our city and proving that you are one class act of talented musicians who still truly Love sharing your gift of music full of melodies, harmonies, and Love. Thanks for doing a Tribute to Tom in the show as we all know how much you must miss him on this tour and pray he will return as good as new! Yours Truly, Phil Epp

Abbotsford show got better as it went on....

by VanDude on 2023-10-31Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

I saw the Doobie Brothers a couple of years ago at the PNE with Tom Johnson and minus Michael McDonald. This time it was the other way around. Would have loved to see them both together as they were on the PBS special. However, I know Tom is dealing with a bad back. I did enjoy hearing Michael in several of the hits he sang in, mostly in the second half. The first half was a lot of lesser-known songs that were ok but not especially show stoppers. For those diehard super deep fans I guess that would have been great. My favs were Black Water, Jesus is Just Alright and the Steely Dan encore, Pretzel Logic.

    Unforgettable. An amazing concert!

by Steve Miller on 2023-10-31Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

My friend and I got there early and met the guitar tech and one of the sounds guys. Really nice people. They gave us a handful of custom guitar picks which we shared with some other fans. The actual concert was amazing - the musicians are all cracker jacks. Great harmonies and solos. Really enjoyable to hear all those hits from my teens. Can't wait for them to come back.

A gift from the Rock gods.

by Troy on 2023-10-31Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

Owe a ton of there music but in person was so much better. Seems that someone forgot to tell them they are getting old. Amazing, brought the music of the albums to life. Thank you for touring and allowing all of us to share your music. See them any day they want to visit B.C. I even think a couple of nights might be sell outs.

    Overall a vet good concert.

by Jack on 2023-10-31Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Noticeably missing Tom Johnston. Kind of felt like they were trying to cover up poor vocals with louder music. A little too much saxophone for my liking even though he's good. The latter portion of the show was the best. Lots of Macdonald and original hits had people singing.
