Rating: 2 out of 5by Bismark on 2009-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton Rating: 3 out of 5 A Chorus Line was OK
by beazy on 2009-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonI was disappointed in the costumes for 3/4 of the show. I know they were getting ready for the big ending and therefore had to wear work out clothes, but I missed something. I really enjoyed the last ten minutes with the glitzy costumes.
Rating: 3 out of 5by Wonover on 2009-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton I saw Chorus Line first when it premiered in Washington D.C. and fell in love with it. This updated version left me disappointed and cold. When they were dancing it was great but the momentum was completely lost with all the talking - which I don't remember so much of in the original version. It was not a cheap night out and I was very disappointed!
Rating: 2 out of 5 Chorus Line Disappointing!!!
by NotaRegular on 2009-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonI was very disappointed in the performance. While the singing and dancing were good, I was not pleased with the references to sex, various body parts as well as the profanity. I was seated near many very young children at the matinee and did not think it was appropriate at all. I had heard that it was a great show in the past but obviously that has certainly changed. I do not think many of these things were necessary, but rather took away from the overall performance. I will do more research before attending another show.

by Rolanda on 2009-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonMy husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this performance. It was truly an enjoyable evening and the dancing was incredible, as was the acting. We certainly recommend that people that enjoy musicals should see it.

by marcp on 2009-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmontonthis was by far the worst preformance we have ever been too at the jubelee for the past 40 years. When only when they danced they did a good job , the music was fine but the audition segment was discusting. Too long , bad voices, bad lanquage etc etc The ticket price was much too high for such a bad preformance, we should all get our money back. The last 15 minutes of the show i realized a lot of people around us had left already. Abolutly discusting low quality preformance
Rating: 1 out of 5 I hated it!!
by Outoftown on 2009-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonWhat a disappointment! I expected a New York Broadway event and got stuck with the auditioin???? How horrible!! I will take better care and look at all reviews before attending any more Broadway Presentation. What a sad way to celebrate my birthday.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Chorus Line: A joyous evening
by pyrogie1 on 2009-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonI saw the original touring show early 80's. If I gave that a 10, this one is a 9.5. The original Cassie was more focussed to the theme. I and my erudite friends and the jury are still out on the acoustics of the renovated Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton. Some "muddiness" makes for difficulty in clarity of articulation. I'm a first balcony fan, but I hear the same kind of statements from clients who sit around the hall. Orchestral acoustics get a solid thumbs up. The story is timeless and socially significant. If I were designing a high school English curriculum, A Chorus Line would be an integral part of it.
Rating: 3 out of 5by Anonymous on 2009-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton The show was basically true to its premise; the audition process. What I didn't like was the excessive monlogue in the script by the actors. I think I expected more singing and dancing and it appears that people who were following me out afterwards felt the same. They mentioned that they would not recommend it to anyone. I don't know if I would recommend it to my friends unless they were diehard broadway fans who knew the movie. The troupe had me at the beginning, lost me in the middle, and found me again at the end.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Terrific evening at A Chorus Line
by LesleyO on 2009-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonAside from being great entertainment for anyone who loves dance, this show gives us a bit of insight into backstage — albeit polished up for public consumption. Well worth seeing, with both poignant and ecstatic moments. Great cast; we'd missed this the first time around, and were glad to catch it this time.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Absolutly FABULOUS
by BroadwayBound2009 on 2009-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonI absolutly loved "A Chorus Line". This was my first time seeing it performed on stage. They did such an amazing job. The actors were all beautiful, very attractive cast! I was very taken by David Hull, especially ;)
Rating: 3 out of 5 Not worth $100.
by TruthBeTold on 2009-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonGreat acting, singing, dancing. Costumes and set happen to be very minimal in this show, though, so I'm not sure how they justify the $100 tickets. I'm happy to pay $100 for fire breathing demons and helicopters falling from the sky- but this show did not need any of that. The local "big theatre" has productions that are as well acted and more elaborate for only $85.

by TheBigCahuna on 2009-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonGood dancing. Most of the music was forgettable. Sight lines in Edmonton Jubilee Aud are very poor. The pit orchestra was excellent.
Rating: 2 out of 5 Dissappointed
by dash53 on 2009-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonToo much dialogue and not enough dance. What dance/song there was, was well done but fell asleep several times during lengthy dialogues. Expected more entertainment for a musical. Found the request for further money at the end a little much - already paid over $100 to see a less than memorable performance and all of us risk loss of work in these times, many having to change jobs to support families. Perhaps if tickets weren't so outrageous many of us would attend performances more often and you could run shows longer to increase your income.

Rating: 4 out of 5 A Chorus Line
by Anonymous on 2009-11-13Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonI went to see A Chorus Line in Edmonton at the Jubilee Auditorium on November 12th. It was a wonderful performance! This story was originally written in 1975 but was obviously ahead of its time, addressing social issues such as homosexuality, growing old, family and plastic surgery. The stage was simple and the costumes low key, allowing one to focus on the story and the dialog of the characters. I especially enjoyed the solo dance routine by the character Cindy. I would highly recommend this musical to anyone who enjoys musical theatre!!

by setithegreat on 2009-11-12The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - VancouverI saw this show many years ago and remember enjoying it a lot. This was a very professional and well produced performance and excellent individual moments. The mirror and lighting effects were spectacular. However I thought the appeal for charitable funds at the end was a bit of a downer .
