Otherness is the first album in over a decade from the group Rolling Stone declared "put Canadian post-hardcore on the map." Five guys playing aggressive rock grew to a hockey-arena headlining phenomenon while pushing and pulling between spirited guitar leads, melodic might, and emotional weight.
AOF released four hugely successful studio albums, all Music Canada Platinum-certified: Alexisonfire (2002), Watch Out (2004), Crisis (2006), and Old Crows / Young Cardinals (2009). Kerrang! counted Crisis (2006) among the 50 Best Albums of the 21st Century, alongside undeniable classics from Green Day, Muse, Slipknot, My Chemical Romance, Blink-182, and Fall Out Boy. After Crisis hit No. 1 in Canada, at a stage where many bands compromise in search of greater success, Alexisonfire doubled down with even heavier riffs on album four, Old Crows/Young Cardinals. Released in 2009, it became their highest-charting record in America.
The guys never sacrificed the punk soul summoned in beat-up vans and basement shows. Blending their classic sound with new and forward-thinking textures, they produced Otherness themselves. Jonah Falco of Fucked Up mixed.
As Revolver Magazine noted in 2019: "It's hard to overstate the influence Alexisonfire had in post-hardcore through the mid-2000s, their combination of singing and screaming setting the blueprint for many artists to come."
I rocked out all night and had the best time. This was the 2nd time I've seen them play at the budeiser stage!!
Alexisonfire is one of the best Canadian bands there are!
Thank you to Alexisonfire and thank you to the ones who opened up the pit in the back on that Bacardi Hill. Until next time!
Alexisonfire never fails to put on an amazing show. I’ve been a fan since the start and I make the effort to see them as much as I can.
concert was good, I dont have any complaints, except your stuff!!! they are so annoying and bothering. You cannot even stand anywhere or walk through except in front of your chair where you should stand silently and dont move! people are coming to enjoy the rock concert we are not in the opera so let people enjoy their time and dont jump over them every minute!!!
We took our 12 (almost 13) year old son to the concert (1st ONE!!!) and he had a BLAST!! This was an amazing concert! Everyone at the venue was friendly and accommodating. We all can't wait to see AOF again!
Only came for Alexisonfire and they delivered. They are absolutely incredible alive and me and my friends were blown away. I love the venue, it's my favourite, but I wish security was quicker to move the people standing at the rail near the lawn (the walkway that's normally kept clear), and the shit on the men's bathroom floor and no hand soap were a bummer.
Amazing performance as usual. 18 song set list . George’s scream was deafening , and Dallas ‘ voice flawless. Wade phenomenal on the guitar solos . Jordan killed it on the drums. And Chris Steele stole the show .
Alexisonfire killed it!!!!!! As always. It was my sons first concert (hes a huge fan of alexisonfire) and he was in complete aw!
Tight set, perfect setlist and continuing to prove how amazing their musicianship is. They had the full amphitheater singing along.
I've been going to this amphitheater since it was owned by Molson forever ago, the band was great, it's a great venue, everything's great. I do wish they would do a better job of enforcing the no smoking rules, people were smoking all kinds of stuff in the concert viewing area and I felt like crap for days after the concert. Happy to come back again one day but I'll be hesitant between the $20 cans of beer and the smokers with no respect for their surroundings.
Th pit area!!! Yessss!!! Doooo it!!! Always, if you can,do it! Alexisonfire are JUST the best, always bring full energy and sonic bliss! This event only lost 1 star because of the venue - Budweiser stage has never been able to get people funnelling or parking right… always a nightmare trying to leave… I mean, you can say that about most venues, but this venue in particular is an absolute nightmare… always has been. So there’s room for improvement there… BIG TIME!!!
So great to be back after all these years!!! Alexisonfire incredibly still sound like I was listening to my CD !!! Lmao Incredible band, venue and sound!!!
Not usually a fan of the Budweiser Stage. The mixing/sound level seemed off for Metz, and a bit better for Pup but by the time they got to Alexisonfire it was perfect - super well balanced and they performed amazingly as always.
We had great seats, and the show didn’t disappoint
This band is one of our favorites, and they never fail to put on a spectacular show. We see them every year and every year it is so worth it. This time was at Budweiser stage, our favorite venue. Support your local artists!!! :)
These Southern Ontario boys, sure do put on a great show!
Best Toronto show yet for me! So many cool people there to see the show! Couldn’t have had a better time all around
So much energy from the band. Had an amazing time seeing them in Montreal!
Alexisonfire puts on the absolute best live performance I’ve ever seen... This is the 2nd show I’ve been to, and it was phenomenal. We drove 6 hours from Toronto to see their show in Montreal and it was worth every penny of the extortionate gas prices. The venue was intimate with perfect acoustics for a hardcore show. 10/10 would return for a show here over a show in any Toronto venue!!
