Anaheim Ducks History
What began as a 1992 Disney movie turned into a professional hockey team as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim played their first official season in the NHL in 1993. With the emergence of Paul Kariya in late 1994, Anaheim had its first bona fide superstar.
In 1996, Teemu Selänne arrived via trade, and alongside Kariya helped lead the franchise to its first playoffs appearance in 1997. The Ducks reached the Stanley Cup Final in 2003, where they lost to the New Jersey Devils. Forever etched in Mighty Ducks lore was the knock out delivered upon Kariya by the Devils' Scott Stevens in game six. Kariya would make a hero's return in that game, emerging from the locker room to score and lead the team to victory. Netminder Jean-Sébastien Giguère won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs, becoming the fifth player to win the trophy as a member of the losing team.
Disney sold the franchise to Henry and Susan Samueli in 2005, and the team dropped the "Mighty" from their moniker. With star players on the roster, including future Hall of Fame defensemen Chris Pronger and Scott Nidermayer, the Ducks finished the 2007 season as Stanley Cup Champions, defeating the Ottawa Senators in five games. With Rob Niedermayer also on the roster, the Niedermayers became the first set of brothers to win the Stanley Cup together since the 1980s. The Ducks have been in the playoffs a total of 14 times in their 29 seasons.

The game was great. Started slow but picked up. Overall, game was entertaining.
The Honda Center is a great user friendly facility, easy to park, not crowded during an intermission for snacks or to use washroom facilities. Prices were very reasonable for both adult and child beverages and food stuffs. We sat in premium club seating, $92.00 per seat which is super cheap compared to a comparable seat at an NHL game in Canada. A good atmosphere, plenty to entertain and friendly staff made it a memorable experience. Well worth a visit!
Ducks did everything but win and they should have won that game! Even though I sat where mostly there were KING Fans they were awesome too! I am really a Winnipeg Jets fan big time and TEEMU is my favourite player - that's why I came to Anaheim
Our first time at a Ducks game. We're from Canada and were visiting Disneyland. Great energy in the building and great team. You have some awesome fans in Anaheim. We're Montreal fans and would love to see a Ducks/ Habs final.
I really enjoyed taking the hockey game in as part of our "out of town" trip. I was not cheering for the home team, so wasn't sure how that would be, but loved it, as Washington won.
Nice venue - was great being able to see the memorabilia from the 2014 Olympic games (from Anaheim team members Perry & Getzlaf) and the Stanley Cup winning game gear. Parking was a bit of an issue so don't do what we did and give yourself AMPLE time to get to the venue from LA.
I know it sounds crazy but we flew to California just to watch a Leafs game. To pay only $100 to sit 8 rows from the action was worth the plane, hotel and car rental price. You can't get that experience in Toronto. Heck, you can't even get Leafs ticket for a $100 in Toronto! We were also very surprised to see how many Leafs fans there were in Anaheim. We were surrounded by them which made the experience even more exciting. Would definitely do this trip again!
The game was awesome. The venue needs a little more effort. We went to the shark tank the next night and the difference is note able The tank had numerous helpful staff Food and beverage service to the seats. The prices for hockey shirts at the tank was more reasonable then for duck merchandise. But the biggest difference was access to the players. At the pond you can't get close to the players it is a fortress. When you try and look at the players we got yelled at and had flash light put on us. It was very unfriendly. At the tank you could get signatures as players left and nobody was grumpy or yelling at us. Staff at tank were so friendly and helpful. The pond needs to work on the whole experience if they want better fan support.
As a Leaf fan coming from Toronto, this was one of my best experiences attending a live hockey game. Parking was very organized and was easy to get in and get out very quickly. Access in and around the beautiful Honda Center arena was amazing. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was electric (thanks to Leaf nation in attendance).
A real fun and layed back atmosphere compared to the intensity of games inmy home town of Vancouver. Maybe thats because the Canucks suck and the Ducks are No.1 in the league. Great food at the Honda Centre and easy access to transportation.
Excellent outstanding game! Lots of Jets fans , whoop whoop
Great atmosphere in a world-class venue. Easy to get to and surrounding area is clean and safe.
nice game great seat had fun great weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed the game !!!! The arena was amazing !!!! Would definitely do it again if in Anaheim :) well worth the money we spent !!!
As a Canadian we believe that Hockey is our game. I went to the game thinking I would be sitting among a bunch of novice hockey fans. To my surprise and delight I was wrong. The Anaheim fans are knowlegeable and are every bit as enthusiastic as Canadian hockey fans. The game was great. The ducks were down 3 to 1 after the first period but came back and ended up winning. I was impressed with the team's size and speed. They looked good. Also I have to compliment the staff. The Usher in section 225 was friendly and very professional, she showed us to our seats and asked us after the game if we enjoyed the game. Great customer service!!!
Only downside was the lack of taxis after the game. A lot of families still waiting for a cab 45 minutes after the game was over.
Nice seats, smooth transaction ,as good as it gets!!!
easy access for parking and into the building. comfortable seating
It was a fun experience - the Stadium and atmosphere were very different than we have here in Vancouver.
First game.. Plenty to see and a lot of fun. Lots of fun energy throughout the building.
