  • April Wine was Mediocre

by helterskelter on 2011-04-17Clarke Theatre Foundation - MissionRating: 2 out of 5

April Wine at the Clark theater was not bad but it really wasn't that great. The only one with some stage presence was the bassist. The lead guitarist was always turning around and playing solos facing the drummer and not the crowd. During the first 15 minutes the sound was horrible quality but as the night went on it seemed to improve slightly.

  • 4.5 Stars!

by Totofan on 2011-04-12Kamloops Convention Centre - Kamloops, BCRating: 4 out of 5

Really, worthy of 4 1/2 stars in my mind. My only complaint (and it's very subjective) is that they didn't do my favorite tune - I'm On Fire For You Baby. Also, would have preferred more from "The Nature of the Beast" album, but that's just me. It was a fabulous 110 minute set, full of energy and spirit. Sound was great and the band was on. Worth the price of admission for sure!

  • April Wine was a blast from the past!

by AnneCo on 2011-04-05Deerfoot Inn & Casino - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

This concert was really entertaining. All of the band still have excellent voices, and their musical ability is still very impressive; the guitar work was so impressive for a bunch of middle-aged guys! Of course the drummer's solo stole the show! Wow! After he completed his possibly 7-8minute show, he went immediately into the next set of music without missing a beat, pretty incredible musical talent. Listening to all the oldies but goodies really took us back, it was a blast from the past for sure. It was 2 hours worth of solid entertainment, good bang for the buck. Our only complaint would be that this venue (Deerfoot Inn Casino, Calgary, AB) needs to operate the air conditioning when so many people are gathered in such a small room! It got really hot in there, really fast!

It's been awhile since I've seen an AW concert - but well worth the wait - and can't wait to see them again - Amazing.........show - and I was thrilled I was able to share it with a person "very special to me" - just like we did years ago - Sound was awesome and the singing was very clear -

  • Still a solid band.

First time I have ever seen April Wine! I have lived in Canada for 40 years and have never seen them...I don't know how that could happen. Anyway, they were very good. Played the hits and were engaged.

  • April Wine was like a fine wine!!

by scottandkeri on 2011-04-03Century Casino - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

These guys seem to get better and better. Wow what a great show!! I loved all the songs that were in their play list. I was a little sad that my favorite song was not done but can't have them all i guess. The sound was great, guys in the band were very entertaining, amazing musicians and great voices!!! Would see them again in a heartbeat!! Way to keep it rockin April Wine!!!

  • April Wine was Amazing!!!!!

    by bobmat on 2011-01-29Théâtre Lionel-Groulx - Sainte-ThérèseRating: 5 out of 5

This is one of the best April Wine shows I have seen in terms of sound quality. Although Bourbon Street is OK sound wise, The Bell Centre for the Quebec Rock show a few years back was horrible. Although I do miss Jerry and Jim, Blair and Breen were fantastic at this show!!!!!! Tons of energy. You guys have been my favorite since you played Rosemere High School in 1973 and you certainly still put on a great show!! Good on ya's

  • april wine rocked

I went to see April Wine in Salmon Arm a few years ago, one of the best concerts i*ve ever been to, they autographed a t-shirt for me and were so nice in person. I*ll forever cherish it and the memories of a great night. I hope they come back again to the Okanagan, i*ll be waiting.

  • Good Show

by Hammertime11 on 2010-11-21Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 3 out of 5

April Wine put on a good show! I love there music, but I was disappointed with there song selections. I went with a group of 8 and they were all felt the same way. They really did not play many of the hits, which I would assume most fans would like to hear.

  • like a good wine-gets better with age-they rock !

by jimmytheshooter on 2010-11-19Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 5 out of 5

yes ! yes ! yes ! It has been many years since I have seen this group but the wait was worth it ! I won't wait so long next time. The talent in this group is unbeleiveable... even the "new" base player made a significant contribution to this performance. The ultimate question...would I see them again... yes ! yes ! yes! Impressive performance by April Wine, voices are still going quite strong, very few breaks meaning mostly non stop music, they can still rock. Only complaint was they could have turned down the volume a bit, been to several modern and classic rock concerts and they were certainly the loudest, creating a few uncomfortable moments (fyi I'm 20 years old, not some geezer that complains at 50 decibels). But overall definitely recommend this act. Also wished they could have performed Bad Side of the Moon and I'm on Fire For You Baby rather than playing some Beatles and Rolling Stones (but they still did good renditions of their tunes)

  • April Wine was fantastic!

    by Concertgoers99995 on 2010-11-15Deerfoot Inn & Casino - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

We would have gave them 5 stars, but they didn't play one of the great songs we loved, "Rock Myself to Sleep" . They sounded great! We would definetly see them again, no wonder they sold out!

  • April Wine was a High Roller Night!!!

by HUGEY on 2010-11-14Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 5 out of 5

FAB show and a good crowd indeed. Its one of those things you get to say.....they get better like a fine April Wine!! The guitar work is top shelf as well as the NEWER drummer to the band it geled very well. I never new how good the band played the blues it sounded great.

  • pretty good

I had front row center seats and I had a great time dancing and watching the show

  • Just got better as they went along

by Robbin on 2010-11-14Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 4 out of 5

Started off a little on the not so great side but wow, did they improve as they warmed up! The floor area was just a rockin.

I must admit I was a little worried that tho Old Boys might have some troubles with the old classics. I was wrong. They sounded great. Glad I went.
