An excellent show, probably one of the best i have ever seen. Sorry for the lame title...
Have been to see many, many acts in different countries. Arcade Fire gave the most breathtakingly energetic, yet tight, performance I have seen. They really brought to life the music from their albums. A real eye-opener for me and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.
One of the best shows I have ever seen. Their energy is unmatched!
Incredible performance, incredible sound, incredible everything!
The Arcade Fire show was nothing short of amazing. Everyone that attended that show was a fan and seemed to enjoy themselves to the fullest. It was nice seeing a show for a change where it was about the music and not image and ego. I can only hope next time we can do a full show and really tear the roof off the C.U.C!
Excellent concert, great performances by Arcade Fire and Calexico.
I've seen shows from iron maiden, to slayer, to buddy guy and pink Floyd. but I must say that arcade fire was one of the best shows I've ever seen, bar none. this high energy show, full of songs that the crowd joined in on, made this a must see. If arcade fire were to return to Winnipeg, I would not miss them.
My girlfriend and I went to see the Arcade Fire. It was, by far, the best concert both of us have ever been to. She is a huge fan of the band, whereas I have just heard a couple of their songs through passing. But this was an AWESOME experience! The energy flowed from them through the crowd, and the whole show was just amazing! The opening band, Calexico, was really good as well. I have never heard of them before, but after the concert, I went looking for their music. The best description I have for their music is mariachi rock. Nice style. But the Arcade Fire is a must see band!
I have loved Arcade Fire for a few years now - love the albums "Funeral" and "Neon Bible" and bought "The Suburbs" as soon as it was released. I had heard great things about them from friends in Montreal and was impressed by their performance on The Daily Show in early September. Their fundraising on behalf of Haiti has been noted in of all places Vanity Fair magazine. The concert at the MTS Centre on September 23rd was everything I hoped for. The sound was great, the band members were lively and engaged with the crowd, and the crowd loved them as much as I do! My companion and I were most pleasantly surprised to really enjoy the opening band, Calexico, and will most certainly purchase their latest CD! Hope that MTS Centre will bring Arcade Fire back some day soon!
It looks like the Arcade Fire are really having fun on stage, the music sounds amazing live, and they played a good mix of their new stuff and favourites from past albums. Worth the price and effort to go see them. If I have the chance to see them again, I definitely would.
This is one of those rare bands that take an amazing studio catalog and enhance it even further with an honest and raw live performance.
Arcade Fire once again proved that they are the best of the best. Kicking things off with 'Ready to Start' off of their new masterpiece, The Suburbs, Winn and company kept their anthemic, pulsating vibe going strong throughout their 100 minute set. Life in middle class suburbia never felt so normal, yet, what is normal? The lyrics keep you nestled in a 70's childhood fantasy all your own with the music sweeping you back to what was. With only a handful of bands in history to pull of such a rare and inspiring musical journey, Arcade Fire is one band that can not be missed.
Loved every minute of the show. I loved how everyone switches instruments almost every song. Played all they're old tunes and new ones. I recommend it to everyone, also try and get on the floor if you can!
People haven't really heard much from them as their much is not played very much on the radio, I hard that they were recommended by Coldplay and I listened to their music. This band is really one of those artists that their live show makes it for them. Full of energy and with all the visuals the music sounds better live.
This was one of the best shows that I have ever been to. Arcade Fire's music is even better live than on their albums. They played with such energy; it was obvious that they still love playing together. Such a tight band for such a big band. Sound quality/acoustics were phenomenal. Great interaction with the crowd (band members would run through crowd every once in a while). Every minute of the concert was highly entertaining. I would consider travelling to another city to see Arcade Fire again.
A truly amazing show. Minimal extra-effects... all about the music and the music is awe-inspiring. A wall of sound that fills the arena but perfectly mixed so that you hear every detail of their instrumentalization. They have a blast on stage and the fun they have cannot help but sway the crowd! In 20 years ill be able to tell my kids that I saw Arcade Fire when they were young! They are that good!
The Arcade Fire was amazing! The set list was great and they really are a band that sounds better live. I'm not a huge arcade fire fan, I had listened to some of their stuff and took a chance on seeing them live. I've been to a good share of concerts and this one was the best sounding I've been to. The band is incredible and really changes your perspective on what seeing a live band is all about. Can't wait to see them again!
Arcade Fire came out strong and left even stronger. They got the crowd into the show and kept them enthralled for a solid 2 hours. Their energy was infectious and this was really seen by looking at the crowd. Calexico was a perfect start to the show with their blend of tex-mex electric mariachi music. They got the crowd standing and cheering and were just all around great.
My husband was actually the Arcade Fire fan and I went along for the ride. Surprisingly, I totally enjoyed it as well! The opening act was really good and I liked the variety that they offered. At times, they made me feel like I was holidaying in Mexico! When Arcade Fire started to play, I recognized alot of Arcade Fire's music but seeing it live was definitely rewarding. They are a very talented group that exhumes high energy, lots of variety and very enjoyable music. I would consider myself a "new" fan now and look forward to seeing them again!
No doubt that Arcade Fire is an amazing band with ridiculous talent and energy! I sort of wish they would have interacted with the crowd a bit more, though. They did, however, run into the crowd beating the hell out of their drums and whatnot, which was pretty cool. Overall, it was a great show, everyone was out of their seat and dancing like crazy. I would definitely see them again. I love their energy and they make phenomenal music :)
