Great gig. Way better venue than the PNE --- but they dont serve booze which sux. Very large arena sound they have now... I guess you could say they "rocked" out. Which is odd --- but I like the changes in style of play. But I really hate the long hair guys... seriously. They never used to do encores either... so I dunno why they changed their philosophy on that.
Saw the Arctic Monkeys at the Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. Beautiful night and a great venue. The band was good and would definitely see them again. Their new album is obviously darker and heavier then their previous two albums.
Wow wow wow!! Awesome sound, lively performance, fun atmosphere. Quirky opening act with a great sound. The only bad thing was the idiots who insist on smoking and doing weed despite no smoking rule, and the crap security who dio nothing about it! And there was a lot of waiting around for the support act then the band, which is annoying when it's an outdoor concert so you can't even get a beer or have a seat...
Amazing show. They sounded amazing, the lighting was beyond superb, closed with 505 (my favorite song) and couldn't have been better!
This was my third Arctic Monkeys gig, and it was the best by far. Great setlist, great sound, great crowd, and the weather even held out for us. Some people around me were dissapointed that they missed some of their older tunes like Fake Tales and Mardybum, but I personally appreciated the amount that they played from the new album. We even heard them practising a little of Jewellers Hands during sound check - will be a lucky crowd who sees that one first!
Some people may complain that they didn't play a lot of songs off their debut album but I loved hearing the new stuff. They played 9 of the 10 songs from Humbug and they were all amazing live. They fired through a 20 song setlist that kept everyone dancing and singing.
Another great show by the Arctic Monkeys. They played a diverse collection of their music ranging from the three albums plus some B-sides. Too bad it was such a passive crowd.
WEATHER GREAT FOR OUTDOOR CONCERT, OPENING BAND THE LIGHT WAS TERRIFIC AND ARTIC MONKEYS WERE AMAZING. LITTLE DISSAPOINTED THEY DID NOT PLAY THEIR SONG FROM THE RITZ TO THE RUBBLE BUT OTHERWISE ACT WAS ALL I WAS LOOKING FOR.
Great concert-the boys played most of the songs I wanted....awesome energy as always and just a great event-Malkin Bowl a great venue as well.
