Great show and I’m happy to have seen them finally back at home turf.
Best show I have seen to date! Arkells really know how to throw on a great party!
Lots of energy. Great music. I would see them again.
The Arkells put on an amazing show! They hyped up the crowd and played a variety of their songs.
Great live band. See them if you haven't. They are only getting bigger.
I've been trying to see Arkells for over a year, and I finally got a chance to watch them at Budweiser Stage. They were everything I wanted them to be: energetic and lively, with a setlist of some of their catchiest songs (including my favourite, "Leather Jacket" and their epic new song, "Knocking at the Door"). I also liked the free event glasses we got, which lit up during the encore and made their closing songs - "My Heart's Always Yours" and a cover of Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" - a little more special. I missed Said the Whale, but after discovering Mondo Cozmo at the Bastille show earlier this year, I was happy to see them again (their cover of "Bittersweet Symphony" is excellent). July Talk put on an interesting show as well...I'm not a huge fan of their sound, but they were definitely mesmerizing to watch.
I only knew some of the singles that 3 of the 4 bands had released - but came out loving all of the songs. All the band's had AMAZING energy and truly brought it and were just loving life which made me love life!! Amphitheatre is my church, my fave venue in TO!! Loved the local food trucks and freebies. Can't wait for next month when I get to come back!!
It was good. Akrell's put on a very good rock show. July Talk was also good.
Arkells were absolutely awesome!! July Talk totally rocked too!! Go see the Arkells, they are the best!!
Definitely one of the best concerts of my life (ya and I'm 58 years old) - been there, done that, seen them all. July Talk ROCKED as usual - my third concert for them! They just keep getting better & better every time! Arkells were amazing too . . . Max Kerman - shook the stage!
Great atmosphere, everyone singing along from the first Frank Turner song, whole place jumping to "I wont sit down and I wont shut up", The Arkells came on with a bang, I think Michigan Left was the second song., Oh! The Boss is Coming ! Kiss Cam, On Paper, 11.11, then Drakes Dad (sang by Max Kerman in the crowd), Im an old fart and went to the gig with my son, i bought the tickets to go with my wife....but she wanted my son to go. He's a McMaster Uni grad and he had seen them twice before and Ive have wanted see them for long time, so I was not disappointed. Frank Turner did a turn with the Arkells, as they had a drunken night bet on that Frank couldnt sing any song they could name, so they gave him three Bruce Springsteen of the cuff ..he sang them all bang on! Encore was a great version of "Whistle Blower" started as acoustic then "full on" to the end. Superb night.
Amazing concert, super lively but intimate. The group had so much positive energy. Went to the concert without knowing a single song of the band and had the best time. Highly recommended. GO Arkells!
Last saw FT and The Arkells at Massey Hall. FT was okay and The Arkells were amazing. This time it was a full 180!
Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls did a great job of warming up the local audience and impressing with his lyrics and apparent intellect - really like his protest song! More importantly, all of the band looked like they were having a great time playing together and for the audience - it showed! And they played for almost an hour! First time for me seeing The Arkells - love the beat and the expressed desire to get people up and dancing - this show was their hometown gig and the love between the band and the audience was definitely reciprocated. Distinct voice, action right from the start (breaking only for a campfire set) really showed the hometown crowd that action and dancing was on the agenda. As a noob, I enjoyed the pace, the voice, and the interaction between the band members. And the action went on for close to 2 hrs!! A shout out to Phil the Harmonica guy (for Frank Turner) who also ended up being a guest guitarist for the Arkells - was he a plant?!?! Many thanks to both groups for a great show!!.
Another great show from these guys...the Arkells are a must see!
AMAZING to see them in their hometown, you can really see them glowing more than usual. Arkells always put on an incredible show, and that's saying a lot since i attend 100+ shows per year. So so worth every penny, even if you don't know many of their songs! Their shows always feel like a party
this show was off the charts. my wife was just a so so fan before but now you have another truly grateful fan for being there. one of the best concerts ever.
Amazing performance. so talented. please bring back. good venue set up.
Such a fun, energetic concert. There was also something funny to be said, great stories and moments between band and audience. Including frank turner ! He is fantastic.
High energy show. Entertaining opening act. Great show overall
