Toronto FC History
Toronto FC played their first season in 2007 and became a perennial MLS Cup playoff contender after adding Italian soccer star Sebastian Giovinco in 2015. In his first year with the team, Giovinco became the first Toronto FC player to win MLS' Golden Boot, MVP and Newcomer of the Year awards, en route to the team's first-ever playoff berth. The team reached further success the following year by reaching the MLS Cup Final, then won the championship in 2017. That victory, coupled with their winning of the Canadian Championship and Supporters' Shield matches earlier in the year, made Toronto FC the first team in Major League Soccer history to complete the rare feat known as the domestic treble.
Toronto FC have been most dominant in the annual Canadian Championship, in which the club has taken home the Voyageurs Cup eight times, including in 2020. Individual player accolades include Rookie of the Year for midfielder Maurice Edu in 2007 and Most Valuable Player for attacking midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo in 2020.

Toronto FC at BMO Field
Toronto FC is the city's first Major League Soccer team and the first Canadian team in the league. When BMO Field, the team's home stadium, opened in 2007, it was already the largest soccer-specific stadium in Canada. The venue has since expanded to accommodate over 30,000 fans. The Eastern Conference team's most vocal and visible supporters club, the Red Patch Boys, started rallying online back in 2006 before the team had even played its first match.
Toronto FC’s 2024 regular season kicks off in February at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, when Toronto FC face off against FC Cincinnati. Toronto hosts their home opener against Charlotte FC on March 9. Toronto FC play their final match of the regular season at home against Eastern Conference opponents Inter Miami CF. Great experience and lots of fun at Saturdays TFC game. Awesome crowd. Great Atmosphere! Lots of chants and singing and goals! Big win for Toronto 5-1 over DC United. Worth the money and the drive into the city from out of town
The beauty of soccer. You never know what is going to happen. My son and I had a great day. A memorable finish.Go TFC GO.
My children and niece loved it. A must do again. Crowd was fun. Staff were very helpful at BMO field and TFC employees were freindly.
First time at a game and it was good energy. would go again
Time for Vanney to go...what a horrible display...AGAIN!!!
Our family travelled to Toronto this past weekend. We attended the Toronto FC game on Saturday night. I will say this was such a fun game to attend. From the amazing starting events, fireworks, fans that knew all the theme songs....well let’s just say it was pure entertainment! We will definitely be back again!
Stadium ambiance, presentation of teams, national anthems, music, fireworks - very good. Stadium staff helpful and polite. Quality of play and refereeing - very good. Access to and egress from stadium - no problem. Weather - perfect. Result - a win. What's not to like?
Good evening to watch a game with friends. Weather was fine. Game was so-so but at least they won the game
Game was great! Seats weren’t the greatest as it was obstructed view even though Ticketmaster didn’t make note of that before I purchased them. I’m pretty disappointed that Ticketmaster wouldn’t let me know before hand or I would have bought other seats if I knew what they would be like.
Despite the result of the game, it was a fun event for a weekday. Always good to cheer for our home team TFC!
For the price of the tickets food should be included.
The seat area was spacious and among noisy fans. If you go to game for excitement, that's the place to sit. Lot of firework, smoke and drums.
We got last minute tickets for the TFC game last Saturday. The tickets were bench tickets but given that BMO Field is so small, they were great tickets at a reasonable price. Also, there was the added bonus of free access to the CNE. The issue has nothing to do with the tickets but the horrible level of soccer that TFC played. How is it possible that professional soccer players show up to the field demotivated and uninspired? Soccer teams earn their fans they don't take them for granted...it will be a while until the next time we go see them...
great atmosphere as usual, great view as always....a great game to top it off....
TFC lost, so that sucked. It's still always fun to watch a match!
Excellent event, great stadium, great team! Giovinco rules.
Should be better! Very disappointed! Gave up a poor goal! More than enough opportunities to put it away and couldn’t!
BMO Field is great atmosphere for soccer fans. I can’t wait to go back
I took my grandson to the game for his birthday and we had a wonderful time. He is an avid soccer fan and player and the seats we had gave a great view of the entire field so he could see plays developing. The seats were high and at center field but we were still able to clearly see the squirrel score twice on Orlando's net in the second half.
