Such talented dancers and of course great music selection. This was my 1st major outing during the pandemic and although it was requested online that masks were suggested in the theatre, I found not many wearing them, so felt a little uncomfortable.
I loved, loved the PHI performance by the Alberta Ballet.
Thank goodness we live in a city where it is possible to take some of David Bowie's more obscure songs and turn them into a beautiful and thought-provoking ballet. I expect this will tour many larger cities in the world.
Alberta Ballet in Phi has staged one of the most incredible events in modern dance. Great music, incredible digital backdrops, amazing costumes and all in a ballet. Highly recommend.
Everything was perfect from lighting to costumes to the music and finally to the ballet itself. Bravo! I also enjoyed the souvenir picture booth—nice touch

People who had been told me I’d really like this performance, well I wasn’t expecting at all what I’d experience. More than a visual/audio, my body had chills go through it. If my popcorn budget could afford it, I’d have gone to all shows.

The first act was definitely lacking, loss of imagination by jean for sure. There were multiple songs to convey one aspect of the ballet and it was overkill, like we get already, how much longer can we watch this person drabbly go back and forth on the stage.... totally boring and useless. The second act was much better, still room for improvement though. There were multiple mistakes by the dancers and the choreography was off. I was fairly disappointed and feel like Jean did not go out with a bang. The activities in the lobby were ho hum, get a picture with "David Bowie" and try some virtual reality.... costumes and art to look at upstairs took 30 seconds and werent that great.
