Phi was one of the best stage productions I’ve seen, it was spellbinding from start to finish. So glad to have had the chance to experience such an amazing production, kudos to everyone involved!
The visuals were extraordinary and the whole fusion of song and dance gelled seamlessly. Do yourself a favor and catch this fully innovative show.
Everything went well, Easy to park.. Getting seated went smoothly, and the show was amazing.. Enjoyed every minute.
The dancing was fabulous!…… but I was extremely disappointed by the music selection. Supposed to be David Bowie. But except for Major Tom, it was all songs that I didn’t know!! So all his “B” tracks???
One of the best shows. Performance was unbelievable. Dancers, Costumes, decorations, lights were great. I wish we would go one more time.
It was incredible, staff were awsome theu were so friendly and helpful. My daughter and i was very impressed with the ballet. We going again for another ballet. Thats for sure
The show was absolutely amazing. What was NOT was how it ended. I did not sign up for a sing-a-long. Also - if you are going to flash extremely bright lights into the audience, you need to provide a warning before the show starts, and before people buy tickets. Folks with epilepsy and light sensitivity are at risk of harm when this is not done. Please be mindful of who is able to attend your event with things such as these. Also - why did all the dancers start dancing like Joey from Friends in the end? It made no sense.
Having lived in London (UK) for the last 30 years, I had no idea how a ballet in 'cowtown' would compare, lol. But this show was world class! I couldn't have been more impressed. The creativity was mesmerising and we were absolutely blown away by every aspect of the performance. I just wish I could see it again!
Loved every minute of it, could have watched another 2 hours' worth. The music, dancing and visual display was amazing.
Absolutely gorgeous! I think I spent the whole approximately 90 minutes with my mouth hanging agape, immersed in the audio and visual feast. Totally beautiful, and a very special tribute at the end.
I have never been interested in attending a ballet, but I absolutely love David Bowie. It was such an amazing show! The backgrounds, costumes, and storyline were really well done.
Not sure how to explain but this did not feel like a regular ballet. The color, music, stage, were all electrifying .. literally. I am convinced the dancers are not really human. If you have the chance to see this performance do not miss it, the energy was amazing.
Phi was an amazing artistic show; staging, music, choreography, performers skill.
The technical aspects of the production were stellar, but everything else was short of expectations. Given how many fabulous well-known songs David Bowie performed, I was left cold by the obscure choices presented in Phi. I was also discouraged by the traditional cisgender characterization. Bowie was glam, gender-busting, and popular: all of which was under represented in this production.
It was amazing. Bowie would have been proud. The dancing and music selection was perfect. And i love how you can have your own interpretation from it, allows for your own creativity. The lights, the artistry everything about the show...i absolutely loved. And the Jube did a great job hosting as always.
This was a magnificent experience! The expression of the theme of humankind's creative spirit being seduced and sublimated by technology couldn't have been done any better. The interpretation of the music by dance and dance by music is indeed the apex of Jean Grand Maitre's career with Alberta Ballet. I don't think I've ever seen them better. I hope for a recording of this, I could watch it over and over.
What an amazing performance for the Alberta Ballet! Complex, colorful, visually stunning! A creative masterpiece that showcases the brilliant writing, choreography and talent of the Alberta Ballet Company set to the incredible music of David Bowie. Couldn't be done any better!
What a fantastic show and an extra special night to be a part of the closure of this chapter of AB Ballet's history. PHI was delicious and a magical showcase of the company's leadership and talent.
The stage scenery was minimalist but very effective. Dancing was superb - modern and traditional combined. I loved the David Bowie music accompaniment which enhanced the entire performance. A perfect mind-blowing experience.
