    A bit dissapointing

by Dragonfly107 on 2018-07-18Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I have seen 7 versions of Les mis in the past 20 years and sadly this experience was one of the worst. It started with the first act where all the people who were late were allowed to trickle in and disturb us in our seats... i litereally missed the first 2 songs because of this and that is unacceptable when we arrived on time. The thing that surprised me with this version of les mis was the speed and lack of enunciation by the singers... jean val jean in particular. It got better by the end of the show but was dissapointing as i took my son for the first time and he said the songs were too fast and liked the movie better as he said it explained the story more. This would not have been the case if they sang slower and more clearly. Also the singers sang with a darker intensity than i have seen in the past. I dont know if the director asked them to be angry about their lot in life but it was distracting... the songs are beautiful and dont need the anger or sarcasm. While i would always reccomend Les Mis this production was not my fave but of course the standout performance was Eponine( she was perfect)

    Les Miserables was Womderdul!

by CountessM on 2018-07-18Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This is the 2nd live performance I’ve seen and I have to say it was as good as the original that I saw in Toronto years ago, when it first presented. The directing, I thought, was brilliant. Set decor was very creative. The voices of the performers was outstanding. Would love to have a sound track of this particular group. I, and the people on either side of me, throughly enjoyed it.

by Westcoastrider on 2018-07-17Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Epic production and great cast made this a great night. Wish we'd been closer to see more of the actors facial expressions and emotions, however might have been difficult to see though the tears! Thoroughly recommended

    Unforgettable

by South on 2018-07-17Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This musical has never disappointed me. I have seen it four times at the QE and every time I am brought to tears, laughter and suspense and I leave with a heart filled with love for everyone in the performance. The cast, the props, the orchestra are all incredible. It is a storey of betrayal, suffering, love, war, defeat, sacrifice and faith that keeps you entertained throughout the entire performance. Thank you QE for bringing this back.

    Fantastic peerformance!

by nigie on 2018-07-17Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This was the 10th time for me to see Les Mis. I've seen it from Salt Lake City to Portland to Seattle and Vancouver. I can honestly say that this Saturday Matinee performance in Vancouver was the best yet.. Cast - including understudies - were amazing. Usually I've found that at least 1 cast member is somewhat lacking but, not this performance!!!! Amazing talent and voices...so memorable...and the orchestra was outstanding as well. Long life to Les Mis!!! BRAVO touring cast and crew.

    Les Miserablea good and bad

by Thanks4memories on 2018-07-17Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

We bought tickets for the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Vancouver and sat LC row 21. We found it almost impossible to make out the words to the songs. This was not normal since I had already seen the show twice and could hear it perfectly. I wondered if it was where the seats were located. The experience was definitely frustrating. The performance was good, the set design was excellent, as were the costumes. I thought two of the characters could have been stronger.. Javert and Enrolas.

    Exceptional Production

by SamSpade on 2018-07-17Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

We found this production more moving than the show we saw in London. My wife who has seen the musical 4 times now said it’s the best she’s ever seen. The cast is uniformly strong. A number of players stood out; Jean Valjean actor has great range Javert portrayal is very powerful Innkeeper and his wife very funny The kids playing Gavroche and others were excellent
