About

The WWE is the world's largest wrestling promotion corporation. Founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in 1953 as Capitol Wrestling Corporation, the organization now hosts more than 500 events per year across the globe. In 1982, McMahon’s grandson Vincent K. McMahon bought Capitol Wrestling and was fundamental to turning the WWE into a widespread and enduring sports entertainment product.

Initially, McMahon built up the WWE roster with future superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper and Jesse Ventura and launched the organization’s annual marquee event, WrestleMania, in 1985. Over the years, WrestleMania has offered plenty of unforgettable moments like the Hulk Hogan-André the Giant championship match in 1987, the generation-shifting face-off between Bret Hart and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in 1997 and The Undertaker’s 21-year winning streak at the event. The WWE will celebrate the 40th annual WrestleMania in 2024.

By the late ’80s and early ’90s, there was a full roster of hardcore brawlers, including Shawn Michaels, Hart, Ric Flair and "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who were later joined by a new crop of “Attitude Era” stars such as Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H and Mankind as the organization grew into a touring juggernaut. Another infusion of talent joined the WWE during the late aughts and early ’10s, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.

The WWE continued to reinvent itself as it created the separate Raw and SmackDown brands in 2002, launched various offshoot brands including the ECW and WWE NXT and introduced a 24/7 streaming network in 2014. The companies behind the WWE and mixed-martial arts promoter Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) merged into TKO Group Holdings in 2023.

    Full of Life !

by Fozy Bear on 2024-01-01Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

This was indeed one of the most pumped up WWE events l have been too. The crowd was very enthusiastic from the time the music entrance plays to last player on stage. It felt as though how it was on television. It was comical with Finn Balor and his actions. R-Truth for me, was the cherry on top for comic relief. It would be nice to see R-Truth win a match one day, again. However, it did pain me to see the blood off Sammy’s head. Hope he is doing well and nothing to serious has happened to his head. Well done to all wrestlers.

by Calico on 2024-01-01Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

The WWE stars were amazing. I enjoyed the surprise matches. I'm definitely going again. The venue was great but the beer was $20.00 per. Ridiculous price for one beer

    Then, Now, Forever, Together.

by Cole Paterson on 2024-01-01Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

The most recent WWE Live: Holiday Tour event in Toronto, ON was my 7th WWE event overall, and the first WWE event that I've brought my Mother to. WWE events have been something important to me, as the shared passion brings my family together every year. Each and every event I've attended have been an excellent spectacle, and enjoyable time. I highly recommend the WWE.

Beyond entertaining, nothing I’ve ever experienced

by Maria on 2024-01-01Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

I came here with my friend as a Christmas gift to her. It was so easy to get in and get seated, our seats were cheap and we could still see the ring clearly! The energy was amazing and we had a really fun night. 10/10 entertaining for all ages and would go again!!!!

    WWE 2023 Holiday World Tour

by Maynard on 2024-01-01Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

I have been to several WWE events at the Coca Cola Coliseum. At every one of them when the main event comes on at the end of the show they turn off the jumbotron and all the lights. The same thing happened again on Fri 29 Dec 2023 during their holiday world tour. This is actually frustrating and takes away from the full enjoyment of the event. Other than that, it was a great show.

A 50/50 Good Bad Experience with WWE Holiday Tour

    by Que-Arts on 2024-01-01Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

First of all this is a smaller venue than Air Canada Centre with no Pyro for the superstar's entrances. Then the lighting is great for the WWE ring but not so much for the entrance path or ringside area overall. As far as my seating on the floor- my view ended up being obstructed by people standing up- the best seats were only a handful of seats away at the barricade. In the WWE Holiday Show (non-televised), matches aren't as well planned as for TV (ex. WWE Raw) so you end up with goofy happenings, some stars not even getting to do their moves, match ups we've already seen and match ups that we don't want to see (or are less interesting). The first match with Becky Lynch was okay but the middle of the show was not so good because again, you get superstars in not as exciting match ups, or they don't get to perform their moves (Rhea Ripley the champion in the match won based only on a roll up and not any of her moves) like on TV shows (WWE Raw is live) or some of the stars act goofy instead of doing a serious/wrestling move filled match. The best matches were Sami Zayn vs Finn Balor and Cody Rhodes vs Damian Priest for an intense experience with everyone performing well as well as extreme stipulations (Last Man Standing vs Steel Cage). Somehow in the main event (last match) we had Drew McIntyre being very goofy, talking on the mic during the match, and posing when he should be 100% seriously fighting the whole time. Seth Rollins performed well in this triple threat (includes Shinsuke Nakamura) but that was about it. Being on floor level away from the barricade my view was obstructed and I couldn't reach the barricade (to see but also interact with the superstars). At least certain superstars stayed after matches to sign autographs and take selfies like Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes and Becky Lynch. I am fortunate to have gotten good Pre-sale tickets for this show to be much closer to the ring than usual. I don't think I want to go to an un-televised WWE show again - my next WWE event will be WWE Monday Night Raw whenever they come to Toronto at the Air Canada Centre- I went to the Friday Night Smackdown show and it was 5/5 stars.

Good show pity about the venue

    by Wiggyinthe6ix on 2024-01-01Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Firstly, I need to point out that I am not really a WWE fan but my son is. That said I did quite enjoy the show. The venue does need some serious renovations. The rear walkway is far too tight and the lines for the washrooms and the food/merch stands merged into one. Like I said good event pity about the Coca-Cola Colliseum
