Atlanta Rhythm Section Tickets

ON a cold night in Edmonton the boys from Doraville Georgia came to town and turned up the heat. Even though there was only one original member of the band left touring, lead singer Rodney Justo, this edition was very tight on that stage. Sound was nice and clean. A credit to the sound person in that room. They played all the well known ARS hits. As I said not the original guitar players but these boys could play some rock n roll. After the show they all came out and did a meet and greet with the fans. Picked up Rodney's autograph on my original first ARS release from 1972. The only problem with this concert was that the venue was 2/3 empty. But, as Rodney said they came to play and did they ever.

The performance was good in terms of the quality of the instrumentation; however, the lead singer’s voice lacked power and range(although it improved as the performance unfolded). As good as can be expected given his age!

Great show by Atlanta Rhythm Section.The band just knocked off hit after hit and mixed in some of their older and more obscure songs too with no breaks . I’m so glad we had seats right up front where we could see that nice finger work on the guitars and of course the bass too. A really nice part was when Dave Anderson on guitar and the band slipped in part of a RUSH song for a tribute to Neil Peart. (RIP). I highly recommend going to see these guys.

Having been a fan of ARS since the 70's I was looking forward to the show. unfortunately the crowd was not large...which was disappointing but it has been a while and the great white north is not always knowing some of the great american bands that might not get the attention outside of the US. The weather and being right after Christmas didn't help much either That said the ARS performance on Friday was exceptional. The band is tight and the 2 guitarists were exceptional. They performed all of the hits and their fan favorites. The band travelled a long way for the show and unfortunately the crowd size was disappointing but that didn't deter them from giving a great show and providing the fans that came out a reason to feel good about attending and knowing that this is a great band. Thanks ARS you were great and hopefully you return for a summer date where there would be more interest...
