    Big Sugar burns it up!

by SpacegirlK on 2018-01-09The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

This was my first time seeing Big Sugar and I am truly saddened at how many times I missed them playing knowing how great their live show is!! I will be getting tickets again for this year's show seeing it has been told that this is their tradition. If you get a chance to get tickets for 2018 you will not be disappointed!!

    Still amazing!!!

by Balletgrrl on 2017-11-27The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The band has a different look this time round with a couple of longtime members gone (Mr Chill!!) and a couple of new faces (Mrs Johnson!). But the sound is still as powerful as ever and the songs from the upcoming album are as Big Sugar sweet as ever. Can't wait til it comes out!

A wonderful show! An unforgettable engagement ❤️

by Kris711 on 2016-11-15The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Big Sugar was absolutely incredible! I saw them for the first time since 2000 and was blown away by the energy and tightness of the band. I am also incredibly grateful to the band and their management for allowing my boyfriend (now fiance) to propose to me on stage. It was truly a perfect show, a perfect night :)

    Awesome event

by Spiderlilly on 2016-11-15The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

It's been a long time, like putting on an old, comfy sock. One older dude kept going "WOO!" every 5 minutes. Nice to be able to sing along to some of my fave songs.

    Big Sugar Rocks the Hall

by Amuised on 2015-12-02The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

It's almost 20 years since I saw Big Sugar Rock GBC's Casa Loma campus! I took my friend with me to see them play at the Danforrh Music Hall and she loved them! They are still rocking it out 20 years later! I can't believe I'm old enough to write that! Ha! I still love their music, they still sound as great and they are still sexy! I became a mom that night too! I was so impressed by Gord's statement, his moral ethic and philanthropic spirit that I sponsored a child through World Vision. The concert ended and I wanted them to keep playing! Sign me up for the next show!

Big Sugar put on a great show!

by Grantndicampbell on 2015-11-30The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

We have loved this Iconic Canadian band for a very long time and finally got to see them perform live. The sound system could have been better as we had difficulty re: lead vocals. Otherwise a non stop evening of great talent!

Big Sugar Blasts the Music Hall

by SpikeyD on 2015-11-30The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

One of my favorite bands. In the summer I attended the acoustic show at Harbourfront which was probably the best show I've seen in the last 5 years. Therefore I had to get tickets to the Music Hall show. As usual the set list was amazing, all band members at their best. The only reason I give the show a 4 star instead of a 5 star is the volume of Gordie's guitar ( I could not hear the other musicians). I totally enjoyed Gordie's playing as he is one of the best Canadian guitar players ever , but I like to hear the other band members playing as well.

Big Sugar = Big Fun !

by GeorgeA1Fan on 2015-11-30The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

What an enjoyable concert ! The blend of roots-rock-bluesy-reggae was infectious. The musicianship of all the band members was top-knotch and the sound was loud but audible. You can see that Gordie Johnson and DJ Friendliness were having fun on stage getting the crowd going. I regret missing the opening act - Triggerfinger, but was thrilled to see them come on stage and play with Big Sugar during the encore set. You can see that both bands had a sound that complements one another. Go out and catch Big Sugar and help support live Canadian acts.

Big Sugar( first experience) was unforgettable!

by fixitguy61 on 2015-11-23Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Love Big Sugar from all their radio hits, but seeing them live was over the top. They all wear suits/ties and hats to add a touch of class to their performance. Frontman Gordie Johnson is a fantastic guitar player. Jamaican infused rap segments were awesome. Great harmonica solos also. Seemed like they have a strong local following here in Winnipeg. People were on their feet for the entire concert.

    Great live band

by RHWPG on 2015-11-23Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

The opening act would have been better if they had done one or two less tunes. I loved their bass player though. Big Sugar is a great band to see live. They did most of my favourites without a break from beginning to end. The only damper on the evening were a couple of obnoxious little twerps sitting behind us. After listening to them talk nearly non-stop through the first five songs, I got up and asked them to wait until the event was over to conclude the complicated drug deal they were so intent on discussing at the top of their lungs. The music was loud, but they were drowning it out. I got the expected response, "no", so I had security explain common manners to them. They mostly behaved, as well as you would expect from a chastised four year old, for the rest of the night. All in all, a good evening. The Burton Cummings Theatre is just the right size venue for a band like Big Sugar

    BS

    by granny66 on 2015-11-09Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Dj's music could have been mixed up some. More music to pump up...at times it seemed to mellow. I liked Triggerfinger they were quite entertaining. Big Sugar of course their main popular songs are always great to hear. Once they switched over to their reggae rap style it would have been nice to add in some oldies in between however was a great concert.

Big Sugar always gives me Sugar!

by OldRockerChick on 2015-03-04Festival Place - Sherwood Park

Big Sugar was spectacular! Every time I see this band, they blow me away! I was sorry I had yet to pick up the new album, but it's on the list to buy this weekend. Gordie, as usual, was his handsome, cocky self, which we love! I am so used to being on my feet and rocking with these guys, it was hard to sit in my seat for the entire time. Thanks for another great night, and the venue was perfect! Hope to see more of Big Sugar at Festival Place in the future!

Every seat is s good seat at the venue, the sound was really good and clear. The crowd was into it. The band put on a long set so it was worth it.

    Big Sugar Big on Talent!

by BiggerFan1 on 2015-02-17West End Cultural Centre - Winnipeg

I've been to a lot of concerts, that was definitely one of the top 10. If they played more than one night I would have went to every concert! Where else would you get to hear bluegrass, blues and Rasta; banjo, bongos and piccolo! WECC was a great venue. Note to rude people in the back who talked throughout - it's not the MTS Centre - this was an acoustic show not a metal band!!
