Legendary New York-bred singer-songwriter Billy Joel has toured only sporadically in recent years, but fans have plenty of opportunities to score tickets to see him in concert going forward -- if they're willing to head out to New York's Madison Square Garden. Joel signed an open-ended deal with MSG that will have him playing a concert at the venue once per month for as long as there's demand. And demand has never been a problem for Joel at he historic New York venue; he played his first show there in 1978, and had logged 46 concerts at the arena by 2013.
New York isn't alone in its love for the singer. Joel has long been established as one of the top-grossing touring artists in the U.S., and has sold more than 150 million records over the course his four-decade career. After recording a long string of hits including "Piano Man," "New York State of Mind," "Just the Way You Are," "You May Be Right," "Pressure," "Uptown Girl," "We Didn't Start the Fire," and "The River of Dreams," Joel decided that he was done writing pop and rock songs. It's a decision he's stuck with; it's been more than 20 years since he's recorded a new pop or rock album. He's composed new classical material instead, while continuing to play songs from his catalog in concert.
The show was great. He did such a good job. The theatre is totally new and looked it. The fourth tier is kinda scary walking in but the view was fantastic. My only complaint was the couple in front of us vaped the entire show and no one stopped them even though the usher saw it a few times.
It was 2 1/2 hours of great entertainments. There was hit after hit performed, engaging stories and a few jokes. Billy Joel was fantastic. The performance exceeded any expectations I had. Thanks for a great nigh Billy.
To start Billy was only fifteen minutes late starting. He played most of his hits with bang on precision and style. I was pleased to find out that he has a sense of humour. And as I said earlier one of the best concerts I’ve been to and I’ve seen David Bowie and Paul McCartney. Was well worth the price and then some.
Billy not only a great entertainer, the band behind him is incredible and his music is just hit after hit. A very enjoyable experience
Billy Joel was fantastic. At 73, his vocal skills aren't what they once were but he's still terrific. He played his heart out and it was very much appreciated by the fans.
Absolutely fantastic probably one of the best shows I’ve ever seen Billy Joel is hilarious and if he didn’t play any music all night long, I could’ve just listen to him talk he was so funny his performance was fantastic and I only wanna see concerts at the OLG stage from now on.
Billy is a real entertainer and he's put together a fantastic show. Truly talented band, stage crew syncing the lights. And this man sings the songs, takes shots at himself, is humble and down to earth. What a great show.

Great show, but no more songs from other signers. He can fill a show using his own songs only, especially if they are sang from beginning to the end.
Billy Joel concert at MSG was a bucket list item for me, and he did not disappoint! The concert was absolutely fantastic and worth every penny!

Billy Joel hit all the marks. Selecting songs from a catalogue such as his must’ve been a challenge but he certainly pleased this Denver audience.
As a young 70’s and 80’s music fan, Billy is the first true icon I’ve seen live and it’s easy to say I was NOT DISAPPOINTED! Amazing show, 10/10 would recommend.
We came all the way from Edmonton, Alberta to see the show and it was even better than I expected. I didn’t want it to end. Would go over and over again if I could. He sings all the hits and more.

If you ever have the opportunity to see Billy at MSG, grab it! We’re from Canada and it’s my second time seeing him at MSG (about my 6th time seeing him live). He doesn’t disappoint and seems to get better with age, I brought my 12 year old son (his first concert) and he loved it too. He puts so much energy into his performance and his voice is still amazing. Because his piano rotates, every seat is a great seat. Highly reco you see him!
It was my daughter’s 21st birthday! We were bumped to front row! We got to touch him! And Bryan Adams came on as a surprise! EPIC
