Clutch was great COB was entertaining, but BLS was a bit of a letdown. The sound was muddy and Zakk Wyldes extended solo was boring. Overall, the show was good, but the openers stole the show.

    Black Label Society was excellent!!

by Briness on 2010-09-27Edmonton EXPO Centre at Northlands - Edmonton

I was only there for BLS, waiting there for 4hrs listening to 2 cents, Clutch and Children of Bodom dragged on a little too long. BLS finally came out and the show began. Zakk was excellent as usual with his incredible solos. It was a great concert, highly recommend it.

    Best show in years

by BlueBoss on 2010-09-27Regina Agribition Centre - Regina SK

The show was great throughout it was 5 hours of greatness. It started with 2 Cents who put on a pretty good show they were really getting the crowd going. Its the second time I have seen 2 Cents this year and they are a good solid hard hitting sound. Next up was Clutch who put on an amazing show they sounded great and didn't miss a beat they are 'worth the ticket price alone. They worked a great set list and I wish they toured more often. Children of Bodom the put on an only OK performance but their sound was definitely off I have been a fan of Bodom for a while but it sounded like Alexi Laiho (singer) was just ramming the mic down his throat. That I wasnt impressed with. Then came BLS they put on a great show they looked like they were having fun they got the crowd having a blast Zack was on the top of his game the only disappointment was there was no encore but it was amazing the best all around show Ive seen in years. I hope to see them all again.

    Black Label Society Berzerkus

by Misfit83 on 2010-09-26Edmonton EXPO Centre at Northlands - Edmonton

It was an amazing show from start to finish! 2cents if you haven't checked these guys yet, get on it!!!! Great group of guys outta L.A. with some wicked tunes definitely worth seeing. Followed up by Clutch, I know not everyone likes these guys, but still always able to get the crowd bouncing. Children Of Bodom! What can I say more than, insane guitar and electronic work and tunes that make heads bang, bang! Finally Black Label Society, breaking away from the Ozzman after all of these years I think has been a good opportunity for Zakk. It's cool to see a guy with such extraordinary talent doing his own thing, with incredible guitar always he shredded through his set and made it a most memorable night! Especially with his video homeage to Dimebag Darrell of Pantera, which really got the crowd going! Not to be over shadowed by Zakk's work on the piano as well. A must see act of the 21st century heavy scene for sure!!!

More of a jam session than a concert!!

by Drcz on 2010-09-26Edmonton EXPO Centre at Northlands - Edmonton

2 Cent played their ass of to promote- great show Clutch was great but didn't play some of their better stuff COB same, where was the battle? BLS I expected much more of a show from a head liner.

by Anonymous on 2010-09-26Edmonton EXPO Centre at Northlands - Edmonton

the Bands were Fantastic, Clutch brilliant as usual, COBHC.. So down with what they threw down. BLS what else is there to say solid.. sound 7 outa 10. BLS sounded great. The booze situation was brutal 1 drink per person. line ups were huge. not evenworth it. it was understaffed on all fronts.

    Black Label Zakk Attack!!

by Brutie on 2010-09-25PNE Forum - Vancouver

Once again BLS comes out with a bang. Both Zakk & Nick at the top of their game. They played a lot of the new album & it was great. I've seen BLS many times & they rocked Vancouver!! Got to talk with Nick after the show with my friend Machine & his Mrs. This is the second time I've met the Evil Twin & he's a regular guy, extremely humble for a man with his talents. Always willing to talk to his BLS brothers. Unfortunately Zakk left after the show with his wife & daughter. I've met Zakk as well & he too is a giving man to his BLS family. Don't miss this concert, it will be the best you'll see all year! My only complaint is I'll have to wait another year before they come back again!

Another Day at the Office for Zakk

by Anonymous on 2010-09-24PNE Forum - Vancouver

I realize that with multi-act events that setlists need to get shorter but this event only had three bands and BLS played for about 80 minutes. No encore either and it was not for lack of enthusiasm from the audience. The house lights came on immediately after BLS left the stage so there was never the possibility of one. Also, the band members showed up and played but it seemed like their own enthusiasm, minus the new drummer, was lacking. Zakk made all the standard greetings, curses, and salutes but most of it was rather canned. Perhaps the, to put it politely, rather rustic PNE forum as the venue made it tough to find inspiration. Overall an average show.

    Get there Early

by Moosealope on 2010-09-24PNE Forum - Vancouver

Biggest complaint: We missed Clutch! And we weren't there late either. Doors open at 6, we were there by 6:30. But it took a good hour to get through security since they only had one guy frisking people. Clutch was just wrapping up their set by the time we got inside. Pretty disappointed about that. And we never saw 2 Cents. Either find a way to let people in quicker, or open the doors sooner. But on to the good stuff. Children of Bodom rocked, as expected. Highlights for me were Angels don't Kill, Blooddrunk, Hate Crew Deathroll, and In Your Face. As usual, I thought the set was short, but then that's to be expected with an opening band. The band was tight though and Alexi did what he does best: plays a mean guitar. Followed by Black Label Society. They put on a great show, and again, everything you'd expect: shredding guitar, lots of pinched harmonics. Highlights: Fire it Up and Concrete Jungle. Lowlight: well I hate to say it, but Zakk's solo. Okay we get that you're an awesome guitarist but the solo just seemed to go on a little too long. A guy like Zakk doesn't have to show off, he just has to play. The crowd was fun: BLS fans are a rabid bunch. Everyone was packed in pretty tight on the floor. Even the moping Clutch fans. I got the impression there were many people there for Clutch who didn't get to see them. Sound quality at the PNE forum is pretty bad, but if you move around you can usually find a place with just a few echos. The floor seemed about the best. Up in the bleachers was painful. Inevitably you end up pondering: "So who's the better guitarist? Alexi or Zakk?" People would probably debate that endlessly, and whole thing is pretty subjective. But it would have been cool to see the two of them up on stage at the end of the show having some kind of guitar-off. Never gonna happen though: Too much ego and height differential for one stage to hold. Great show. Go see it.

    venue was a nightmare!

by pigrod on 2010-09-24PNE Forum - Vancouver

very long lineups for everything!washroom facilities horribly inadequate, atm lineups 45 minutes just to wait another hour in the beergarden lineup!then if you have to use a restroom you have to leave the beergarden and wait in line for the washroom and then wait again in the beergarden line to get to your beer and friends,i just got used to this lasted fad of having way overzealous security but now it just seems over the top i might as well of came naked and got dressed after i went through the security process. will not attend any future show at this woefully inadequate facility BODOM rocks

    Best metal show out there

by grumplstilskin on 2010-09-24PNE Forum - Vancouver

BLS is the most intense show I have ever seen. Clutch and Children of Bodom were great openers but when Zakk and the boys hit the stage it is balls out right until the last song. No between songs yaking or ranting just straight through unrelenting guitar god metal. The only ballad (In This River) was given a fresh treatment from the last time I saw them and it damn near brought a tear to my eye. Overall a 5 star show from the best metal act out there today.

    Black Label Society!

by Shyak on 2009-07-21Sound Academy - Toronto

This was my 6th time seeing the boys from BLS, the 2nd time at the Sound Academy. The show itself was amazing Zakk and the rest of BLS always put on an amazing show, if you've seen either of their DVDs then you know what to expect from a typical BLS show. The only thing I have to complain about was the loudness of the vocals. Like I said I've seen these guys 6 times and its been amazing every time yet this time for some reason the vocals were really low. I didnt mind too much because I'm a huge BLS fan but I brought someone who is just getting into them so it must have been irritating for them not really hearing the vocals. There were a few suprises with some of the ladies of the crowd but in all GREAT show. BLS never disappoints.

    by zakk2222 on 2009-07-20Sound Academy - Toronto

The concert was awesome !! The music was just right, loud and powerful. Zakk and Nick's guitar playing was simply out of this world !!!! Zakk's tribute to Dimebag Darrell which is always in his sets was really moving !
