BLEACHERS IN CONCERT:

Indie pop outfit Bleachers is the latest project from Jack Antonoff, the talented singer and songwriter best known for his work with the band Fun. With Bleachers, Antonoff builds on the anthemic pop sound that elevated Fun to superstar status by expanding his palette to include more electronic textures and cutting-edge production techniques. Fun is known for performances that live up to their name, and Antonoff's live show with Bleachers is no different. Ticket buyers will see fan favorites like "I Wanna Get Better" and "Like a River Runs" get the full live treatment as Bleachers hits the road in 2014 for a string of highly anticipated festival appearances.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

New Jersey-born Jack Antonoff began working on his side project Bleachers while on the road with indie superstars Fun in early 2013. For nearly a year he kept the project under wraps until he launched his debut single "I Wanna Get Better" in February 2014. The track peaked at No. 2 on the US Alternative Songs chart, generating significant buzz around the project. Antonoff has stated that he remains fully committed to Fun, and plans to work around that band's schedule as he begins to tour in support of Bleachers. With his debut full-length Strange Desire hitting shelves in 2014, Antonoff has Bleachers fans chomping at the bit to catch him at his upcoming shows.

    Incredible

    by CK74 on 2022-06-26Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Beautiful venue! The whole experience was memory making. Jack was very engaged with the crowd and band mates. Loved the sax! Truly one of the top shows I have seen and what a show to return to music after the pandemy!

    Amazing show, amazing venue!

    by R. L. on 2021-11-21History - Toronto

Such a fun show! Everyone was having a great time while being mindful of COVID-19 restrictions! The venue staff were following guidelines and although we missed the opener because of the long vaccination check line, we still got in well before the Bleachers started!

    Loved every minute of it

I have been a fan of Bleachers for around 6 years now but this was the first time I've seen them live. I love their energy and the atmosphere that they created during the show. This was also my first show since the pandemic started and I'm so glad I got to celebrate the return of live music on a high note with a band that knows how to deliver a great performance.

    Best concert of my life

by Anonymous on 2021-11-10History - Toronto

Bleachers put on a show!! From the moment they stepped on stage the room was filled with energy. Jack Antonoff’s captivating stage presence and musical talent made for an incredible show from the first note to the end of the encore. His band featured 2 saxophones, 2 drummers, and a myriad of keyboards (including a real piano) all across the stage played by nearly every band member. The only disappointment was that the show had to end. Can’t wait to see Bleachers again!

    How do you spell R-E-L-E-A-S-E?

by Jowi on 2021-11-10History - Toronto

We are regular live music attendees (and occasional participants!) at events large and small and saw our last live show in February 2020. Live music was something we missed the most. When I bought the Bleachers tix I was certainly a fan but didn't realize at the time that a) it would be our first show after almost two years; b) it would be the first show at the new History venue; c) it would be the last show of Bleachers' tour Although we showed our vaccination status to get in, I still wasn't entirely comfortable with being packed in with so many people so we stayed masked. But man, Jack & co. were just what the doctors ordered: it was so full of joy and connection and intensity. It was a perfect show - right down to the way he announced they wouldn't fake-leave for the encore ritual and then ended by parading off to the sax refrains of "Stop Making This Hurt". We really did all say goodbye like we meant it and it felt like we were all set free - even just a little bit. I have two concerns about the venue. The first is a typical complaint and nothing will change about it so it's almost pointless to mention: the drink prices are just stupid. It's such an obvious cash grab and complete gouging but it's par for the course; The second is about safety of the queue. Obviously getting a huge amount of people into a venue through a single door when you're checking ID and vaccination status is going to take a little longer but there was absolutely NO management of that line up that - by the time we joined it - snaked right around into the load-in area at the back of the venue. On its own, that was fine - everyone was in a good mood and it was all self-policed, self-organized, self-managed. But as people came from Queen St. down Eastern Ave to find the back of the line they were forced to walk in the road because the sidewalk was full. That's a blind corner and someone is going to get killed.

    Energetic & Unexpected

by Jess on 2021-11-10History - Toronto

Given that this was my first Bleachers show, I didn’t know what to expect. I had seen them as openers in years past, and watch performances online. The TTSOOSN concert was unexpected as it exceeded ALL expectations. The energy from the band was high, and it made for a great experience. The crowd was great, the music was great and the venue itself was great. Being the first show at the venue, Bleachers truly made ‘History’. Definitely will be recommending this band for others for others to check out!

The best post-COVID concert I could have gone to

by Emily on 2021-11-10History - Toronto

After 2+ years of not seeing any live performances, I was able to see Bleachers as my first show “back (to normal)”… and WOW. As always, Jack and the whole band put on incredible show with so much energy, spirit, and passion. I couldn’t have picked a better show to be the first one back. Thank you, thank you.
