BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB IN CONCERT:

British indie rockers Bombay Bicycle Club had no idea they were going to last when they named themselves after an Indian restaurant chain in 2005. Nine years later, the band released their fourth studio album, 2014's So Long, See You Tomorrow — a merciful end to the three-year waiting period their fans have had to endure since 2011's A Different Kind of Fix. Following a home turf British tour in early 2014, the band will treat North American fans to their intricately layered live show, including a highly anticipated appearance at Coachella.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Fronted by Jack Steadman on vocals, the members of Bombay Bicycle Club began playing music together at age 15, enjoying several incarnations before eventually naming themselves Bombay Bicycle Club. The band scored an upset in 2006, beating out hometown favorites The Holloways to win Virgin Mobile's "Road to V" battle of the band's competition, earning two victory sets at the high-profile V Festival. The band's 2009 debut LP I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose was a hit in the UK, scoring them NME's Best New Band award in 2010 —an honor for which they beat out Mumford & Sons. With follow-ups Flaws (2010) and A Different Kind of Fix (2011), Bombay Bicycle Club cemented their place as one of Britain's brightest young talents.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"I was so impressed by BBC! They sounded perfect live. Just like the album. They put on such a great show and gave it their all."

"This band played perfectly and were obviously having fun while performing. Great energy and sound."

"They came ready to rock - and definitely amused both newcomers and seasoned fans alike. Their setlist was stacked with old favorites as well as two new songs and the mix kept the show moving along with a steady rhythm."

  • 10 years later, still so good

Saw BBC last time they were in Toronto in 2014 and was so glad to hear they were back! It was an awesome set. Unfortunately, Suresh had an emergency but the backup drummer did incredibly well given how tough the percussion parts are. The whole band radiated a comforting energy, and they were great live. The lighting was done really well and the sound felt balanced even way in the back balcony. Loved getting to see them after all these years. Hope you're back soon!

  • Too short...

The show was going great until it was not. They finish a little over than 1 hour. My expectation was high and I have waited for that concert for years, just to watch one of the shortest concerts of my life. Frustrating...

Great night. Pleasantly surprised by opening act, Mustard Service. Bombay Bicycle Club are amazing live. Super ambiance, wonderful setlist, and really fun interactions between band and crowd.

Despite one member of the band having had to leave for personal reasons, BBC absolutely ate the set and left no crumbs. One of the best sounding live acts I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. Enjoyed this show so much! Shout out to the dude from Mustard Service for stepping in and learning all the songs so quickly. Mustard Service was a great choice for an opening band and also sounded amazing! So much fun!

  • A class of their own

Truly the best concert exp I’ve ever had. Very tight performance from the band and sound crew that was elevated further through some really simple but really effective and stunning use of lighting. Can’t wait for the next time around!

Best show I've ever been to!!! They sounded amazing and had some really cool visuals to top it all off. I hope I'll get the chance to see them again!

  • Bombay was Da Bomb!

by AshleyM on 2014-05-08The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome lighting, amazing picture messaging behind them while they performed and phenominal sound. I wish they played for a longer set. They have a lot of good music and there were some favourites I didn't hear. Felt like I had taken some psychedelic substance. Yes... they were that good. Venue was well suited, too. I love the Danforth Music Hall!!

  • Bombay Bicycle Club does not disappoint

Supporting their 4th album, So Long See you Tomorrow, Bombay Bicycle Club has a solid set with a blend of favourites and new tunes. The 7 circular screens had attention grabbing graphics that were visually stunning. The crowd was chill and ready to dance along. I've seen them a few other times and they just keep getting better and better live.
