About

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are regarded as one of the very best live rock acts of all time. From humble New Jersey beginnings in 1972, they grew in popularity to become one of the true icons of American music. Hits such as “Born In The USA” and “Dancing In The Dark” cemented Bruce Springsteen as one of America's top popular rock vocalists. He's known for being one of the hardest-working acts in the industry, and concerts can regularly last three hours or more and tours often last years rather than months.
Bruce Springsteen began his musical career singing and playing in a number of bands in the New Jersey area in the mid-‘60s. Influenced by the likes of Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Cream, his musical style was both a reflection of his own tastes and of his blue-collar working-class American roots. The mix of old-fashioned rock and roll with a more progressive, often politically minded lyrical style soon began to build a cult following for Springsteen. By 1972 he was signed to a deal with Columbia Records, along with the E Street Band. The band's members changed now and then over the years, but the core members were Danny Federici, Clarence Clemons, Garry Tallent, Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg. Together they released their first album, Greetings From Asbury Park NJ, in 1972.
While they enjoyed tremendous success in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, they were launched into the megastar category with the release of Born In The USA in 1984. The album stormed the US charts, becoming one of the biggest-selling records of all time with over 30 million albums sold. Bruce Springsteen became an American pop-culture icon and the band enjoyed huge success worldwide with sold-out stadium tours and numerous top 10 singles.
In 1999 Bruce Springsteen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and over the years the act has won numerous Grammy and Golden Globe Awards while continuing to rock at sell-out shows the world over. Bruce has always remained true to his roots, often turning down offers from corporate advertisers wanting to use his music for profit. His music has truly captured the American spirit over the years, which is why he has remained a much-loved and consistently popular musician for such a long time. Away from his on-stage commitments he is an activist for equal rights and runs a charity called The Foundation which helps support war veterans and food banks.

Springsteen Takes Care Of His Fans!

    by Roo4U on 2012-11-29Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Loved every minute! An unforgettable evening filled with hours of old and new songs. Springsteen played to, sang with, danced with, and body surfed with his fans. What a treat to have a performer interact so much with the audience.

    Springsteen was charismatic

by sassymama on 2012-11-28Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Bruce has the magic. He reaches to every age group. He danced with a 80 year old lady and sang with a beautiful young girl. Everyone could feel his energy and enjoy his great talent. I would do it all again. The venue layout was fantastic. I was sitting parallel to the stage on the left side. He reached out to everyone in the whole arena.

At 63 still got energy, soul and sexiness

    by SJD1000 on 2012-11-28Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Amazing concert, 3 hours non-stop. Springsteen still loves the people and jumped into the audience several times, brought people up on stage and seemed so genuine. I didn't know all the songs but the passion and the beat just pulled everyone along. He gave every ounce of energy to 3 hours non-stop performance so he definitely does not take his status or success for granted. Loved him and would love to see him again.

Left the arena feeling we just saw one of the hardest working performers today. Puts most rockers half his age to shame. Would really like to see him again..

Incredible performance by the best! Opened with Shackled & Drawn, which seemed more like an encore than the first song, it was an awesome opening, Loved the interaction with the audience throughout the evening. The best concert I've ever seen.

Bruce didn't stop. He was awesome at keeping the crowd engaged. The one thing I would have liked to hear more of was the born to run album.

    Inspiring!

by Buddhaboy on 2012-11-28Rogers Arena - Vancouver

My first Boss concert! Despite only dabbling in Bruce-ology over the years I came away with a new found respect for the man and his music. Yes he nailed the standards, but his new Wrecking Ball material was epic IMHO. Bustin' out some new dance moves as well which added to the energy of a show that featured a huge (17?) ensemble cast of E-streeters. "Death to my Hometown" is an instant classic as is his opener "Shackled and Drawn". I will admit seeing him was a bit of a bucket list thing for me after all I've heard over the years and I have yet to come down form the 'spiritual' high 3 days after the show...and still cruising YouTube for video clips of the show. Thank you Bruce for adding to the soundtrack of my life.

    Bruce never disappoints

by SpanishBanks on 2012-11-28Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This was my 100th Bruce Springsteen concert. And it didn't disappoint. From my first Bruce concert on July 19, 1988 in (East-)Berlin Weissensee to this one - there has been not one concert which was bad. Bruce shows up and entertains the crowd> I have no words, and no voice and it's now been almost 48 hours. But I particular liked this setlist going back to the 80's and 90's mostly. Three hours I will never forget, it was certainly a good one to have as the 100th.

    Bruce in Vancouver

by MagicRat on 2012-11-28Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I first saw Bruce in 1978 and almost every time he has rolled through town since. His show this time around was one of his best. The new additions to the E Street Band has brought new life to the band. The energy was amazing, the band tight as ever, and Bruce, he was in his best form.

Damn, I hate when this happens

by JeffG on 2012-11-28Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I'm done! No more concerts for me! Ever! You see after attending my first Springsteen/E Street Band concert I have experienced the pinnacle. This is what a concert should be - alive, spontaneous, musically perfect, vibrant, & experiential. I was fortunate through the good graces of other to meet Max Weinberg before the show. We asked "is there a set list". Max's answer, "Yes, right up to the 2nd song and then it's whatever Bruce calls depending on his read of the audience". Spontaneous. Seeing the E street band was the best rock experience of my 65 year life. Better than my previous favorite - Paul Simon . Better than Billy Joel and Elton John. Better than Paul McCartney the night before. It was, simply the best (thanks Tina).

The man, the legend, THE BOSS... Incredible!!!

by Bigyen on 2012-11-28Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This was my 3rd Springsteen communion. It was an epic performance once again but was made extra memorable by being in the pit.... The BOSS does more for the common man than any Pope in history. He's a courageous, tireless and amazing modern day hero. And we haven't even touched on his status as a musician. In short, there's nobody quite like him. I look forward to more performances.
