Calgary Surge at WinSport Event Centre
The Canadian Elite Basketball League unveiled its newest franchise in Calgary on October 19 2023, the Calgary Surge. The team will begin play when the 2023 season tips off in May, with WinSport Event Centre serving as the team's home.

The game itself was very good and entertaining. Work needs to be done to improve the audio in the venue. It was difficult to hear the announcers. Finally it was disappointing the concessions ran out of iced tea.
Did not like the piped in sound. Could not hear any of the announcements clearly.
Was quality basketball, albeit a bit weird due to short (10 minute) quarters and the game ending in what I have since learned is an "Elam ending", which I found odd to say the least. For the money if you're a big basketball fan I guess it could be worth it, not for me though. That said Winsport is a nice venue, concession prices are decent, but the sound system is awful, and team swag is pricey.
We really enjoyed our night out - prices were great, not a bad seat to be had in this venue. Only thing I would recommend is to improve the sound system - very hard to hear the talking.
So happy Calgary has a new home team to cheer for that is fun and affordable!!!! Go Surge Go!!!
Really enjoyed watching the surge play live and beat Ottawa! great entertainment and skill! Definitely going again.
Even if you only somewhat like basketball this is a super cool experience. The vibe at Winsport is amazing for the Surge games. Fun atmosphere, not a crappy seat in the house. Accessible ticket pricing. Everyone should give it a try! Allow extra time for parking - concession is a little expensive but otherwise…. 10/10.
