This concert was excellent!! đđź. This group puts on a great selection of their iconic music. The time flew by!! Thank you!
Was so looking forward to seeing this band but unfortunately they didnât impress. The lead vocalist wasnât right for the band. The sound was over powering. The Horns were the only good thing. Not sure what went wrong but the acoustics that night were high pitched. Iâve seen other concerts at this venue and all have been outstanding. Itâs too bad.
The venue was great with a super sound system. There was not a bad seat in the whole place. Chicago once again showed that they are masterful musicians.
Chicago was great, brought back many memories. It was the dumb ass people that come in late, and then get up every 5 minutes to go get a drink.
Hit after hit, after hit! A ten piece band that was tight and spot on! Amazing evening. Yup, they still got it. THANK YOU!
I had a great time with everyone who was there just clapping and singing. It was a great show.
My husband and I were really looking forward to it and when we arrived thought our seats were fantastic. Our seats were in the last section open on the side. Very quickly after it started we realized they were the worst seats we have ever had. I am sure that whoever did sound checks did not come to our end because we might as well have been sitting outside. We couldn't hear the songs the way we should have been able to. Even when one band member was talking into the microphone we couldn't make out one word he said. |We left at intermission but it was so disappointing I wish we had never bought the tickets in the first place. We could see that the people seated in front of the band were totally enjoying it so I'm sure it was a speaker placement problem or something but totally disappointed in the evening.
Tight musicians that show they enjoy performing as much as we enjoy listening/ watching
The Chicago concert was amazing, as usual. Have seen them live 4 times already. The set list included all of their greatest hits. My favorite moment was when they played "I'm A Man." This elevated the already exciting mood. The drum solo was awesome. Even though they took a short break, they still played a full 2 1/2 hours They should have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 45 years ago instead of just recently.
All in all it was an awesome concert. Brought back a lot of great memories. Caught myself singing along with everybody else. And I remembered the lyrics to all the songs (woo hoo!). Only one criticism, the sound system seemed a little off (distortion) (not sure if it was the bands equipment or the venue's fault), but thoroughly enjoyed it! I will definitely see them next time they are in our area.
It brought so many beautiful memories back, from proms to weddings.
2 stars out of 5. Too Loud. Not enough of the favorites. Too many of the "lost" ones. Meddles that were a mix of hits and looser. Thank heavens for the Canadian lead singer, but still could not understand the words. Horns were too loud. Guitar work was fantastic.
Chicago is my all time favourite band. I've seen them at least 15 times, and will continue to see them until the day they stop touring. For those who are very familiar with their music, this show was a little different from their past several shows when they typically play the entire one side of their album, Chicago II. They did play a good portion of it, but not in its entirety. That said, the show was tremendous as usual. While I prefer their earlier music with lots of horns to the ballad stuff, the audience seemed to be more receptive to the 80's songs they developed under David Foster. To each their own. Loved, loved, loved the show and can't wait for them to come back. I'll be there!
I have seen a number of classi rock bands tour without main members (CCR Revisted) and some sucked, but these guys killed it! I would see them again in a heart beat.
this is the 2nd big stage concert I've been to at Hamilton's First Ontario Place. The acoustics were AWFUL again (last time was Elton John). Very muddy, the sound system isn't great, it really detracts from the performance. Chicago has a big horn section and when they were all rocking together it sounded just like a wall of noise. Vocals are not crisp. Might be the echo and reverb from high, undampened ceilings. I have to remember never to go to a concert here even if it is the most convenient location for us. Chicago itself was pretty good, though, even without Peter Cetera. They have an 8 piece band of very talented musicians and did a nice job of connecting with the audience, have good energy, built interest and excitement as the show went on. The first half was pretty average, they played a lot of unfamiliar songs which combined with the aforementioned sound system were not enjoyable. The person in front of me was playing video games on their phone, and i understood! Their set list was 29 songs long (!!??), and they could easily have left out 10 of the lesser know pieces and had a much better concert. They only played the chorus of "getting stronger everyday" which was very disappointing. Really fun drum solo (and i usually hate drum solo's!) with interplay between the 2 drummers. So some good things, some bad, overall was average but could have been so much better!
Love this venue - easy to get to (no Gardiner Express traffic jams), inexpensive parking right across the street, easy to get into the venue and to the seats. Band started right on time, no warmup act. Hadn't seen them since the 70's, but loved them and brought back great memories for both my wife and I of seeing them at the Exhibition Grand Stand in 1974 ! Played all of the oldies but goodies, and some newer stuff mixed in. 3 original band members (2 in horns and one on keyboards), and 10 in total. Nice tight group that seemed to enjoy performing for us. Appreciated the 20 minute intermission (not as young as we used to be). A perfect evening !!!!!.
Our seats were close but the quality of sound was absolutely horrible!!! So disappointing because Chicago was absolutely amazing. If we could have had the full experience it would have been one of the best concerts I have been to!
The music was fantastic and the energy was amazing!! Chicago still has what it takes!
They sounded pretty good actually but could have used some more energy and wow factor in their show. They should have had some screens up for us sitting further back to watch. They had a 20 minute intermission and the second half was better with higher energy songs and more of their bigger hits. We heard most of the songs we really wanted to hear. Overall a good show though. Rock on Chicago.
Chicago always puts on a high energy show great musicians and vocals who could not sing along with all the great tunes I was surprised it was not sold out in fact I would say only 60% of seats were sold The crowd may have been smaller but we made a lot of noise My only small problem the sound was not great
