What an unforgettable evening. We have seen Chris de Burgh eight years ago in Montréal and I can say, he has truly upped his game since then. It was a night of sincere emotions, laughs, beautiful music, and dancing. It was enjoyable to hear his stories and he is a funny man indeed. There was no shortage of songs and the performance went on for almost four hours. And just when we thought it was over, he sings another song, then another, and another. It was exciting. Seemed to never end and we did not want it to.
During “Lady In Red” he came out in the first six rows or so hugging and shaking hands with just about anyone who was fortunate enough to get close. Chris appeared to appreciate the crowd and did his best to meet as many fans as possible during the song. People posed for photos and many were happy enough to give him little pecks on his cheek. My wife being one of those lucky ladies also got two hugs from Chris. Near the end of his performance he handed my wife his guitar pick, which as anyone would tell you, is a very exciting moment. I was a bit disappointed that I could not get close enough to Chris to shake his hand. And then out of the blue he jumped off the stage and climbed the seat in front of me and again started to mingle with the fans. At that point I got to shake his hand and thank him for an awesome show.
Chris de Burgh is my all-time favourite performer and to see him as he performed and to shake his hand was for me one of my greatest life experiences. And to see my wife so happy and dancing was worth the trip from Calgary. Thank you very much Chris de Burgh for a show I we will never forget. You are a class act and it honestly showed throughout the show. Well worth every cent we paid to see you and we would see you again without any hesitations.
