We enjoyed every minute of the concert. He tells a story in every song!
Great concert performed by Chris and his talented band, show lasted for 2 hours ... crammed with lots of old favourites as well as some newer material. Chris came out into the audience which made the experience even better!
Great entertainer, very versatile. Not someone I had seen live before but would see again.
Just loved Chris de Burgh,...incredible. He put on a full 2 hour show,...and it was wonderful,.. He is a very personable gentleman,...he and his group did a fantastic job and entertained us more than you would ever imagine. He is a very humble gentleman,.. He came out at the very beginning and just waved to everyone and seemed to "take in" the crowd,.. He got a standing ovation,....and a very very long reception,..that was a great way to start off the concert and it continued right to the end. The music was at a nice level,..not blaring like some groups and you could make out very single word he said and sang,..I would see him in a minute again for sure.
This being the 3rd time seeing de Burgh he's still our favourite performer. But the combination of the Shaw and not having a symphony accompaniment is an injustice to the performer. If we ever hear of him performing at a decent venue with a symphony accompaniment we won't hesitate to travel to see him again. But not here.
we attended the Chris de Burgh performance at the Shaw Convention Centre in Edmonton. the Venue was challenging from a performer's perspective [and an acoustic one!] in spite of the challenges both Chris and his band performed above and beyond! an Irish performer with amazing song writing capabilities brought is A-Game to Edmonton. we need to see more of him - and at better locations! well done!
Chris de Burgh's performance was wonderful. His voice is still captivating, and he holds the audience's attention for the entire show. his appeal spans generations, as my 2O year old son enjoyed it as much as well.
Fantastic show. Great to hear the oldies but loved his new songs.
This was my fourth show of the Canadian tour and I am a little stumped as to why Chris and The Band are so addicitive for me. Of course the concerts are great fun...with fabulous songs, excellent artistry and professionalism (on stage and in the supporting crew). Certainly Chris is a unique, refreshing troubadour...with natural, low key charm and evident respect and appreciation for the audience. Guess it is the whole package - with and without an orchestra! Sure hope he comes back to Canada soon!
Chris was so energetic, friendly, and engaging. Love his attitude. The whole band was perfect. Please come back soon.
Chris de Burgh always puts on a fun and fantastic concert! we saw him 26 years ago and he got the whole crowd participating then and he still involves the crowd. Well worth the money!!!
It was over 20 years ago when I first saw Chris de Burgh in concert. Interesting that it was at the same venue, the QET in Vancouver. From the time the band hit the stage (at exactly 8 pm as advertised) to the final encore selection he and the band were incredible. He engaged the audience like an old friend in town for the night and leaving the next day. Laughter and applause were the rule as Chris de Burgh mixed the old classics with selections from his new album "The Hands of Man". None of the selections suffered whether new or classic and were all of equal sonic and artistic quality. At 66 years of age, de Burgh writes and performs as if he were still in his 20's with a still strong voice and incredible music chops.
I have listened to Chris for many years and have been to many other bands /groups who sound better on record etc but mr de burg sounded as Good and better than his recordings Wow he was amazing very entertaining and personable a great show for sure worth every cent !!everyone there had a faboulous night Would I go again absolutely every time !!!
A consummate performer, Chris de Burgh was worth the wait. After seeing him last in Vancouver in 1983 or so, I was very excited to see him again last Saturday night. The concert began bang on time, ( a very rare occurance these days!) and Chris and his awesome band did not stop delivering for over 3 hours. A mix of new tunes and old favorites, the music was amazing, exciting, fun and nostalgic. He had us singing along and dancing to the very end. Kudos to the very talented and professional band and thanks so much for a wonderful show and amazing walk down memory lane. Hope to see you all again very soon in Vancouver!!
I loved Chris De Burgh's songs since I was a teenager. However, I have never had a chance to go to his live concert and before going to this event, I would never think it is this much amazing. I would recommend this event to everyone who has kind of nostalgia with Chris De Burgh.
Best concert I have attended. Most beautiful voice. High energy and fan friendly. Lots of concert for the money. Just FANTASTIC.
I don't normally do Reviews, but feel I should for this one. DeBurgh was in fine form at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver on October 10, 2015. As a matter of fact, it may just be the best show I have seen in many years, anywhere. His voice is still amazing, he engages with the audience and played for almost 3 hours, not including the 20-min intermission. The show was mostly sold out, and the venue was not large so all the seats were good. I don't normally find myself singing along with the rest of the crowd, but couldn't seem to help myself this time. We came away thoroughly pleased. Money well-spent.
Have been listening to Chris de Burgh for years and was beyond excited he was coming back! He did not disappoint! He still has a wonderful voice and was pleasantly surprised at his showmanship. He sang and his band was superb. You could feel the love in the audience and his ability to get us involved and be partners was lovely to be hold.
The show was fantastic, Chris's voice was so pure. The second half of the concert where Chris (without his band) just sang to the audience was pure enjoyment. The last hour was just over the top with great music and dancing.
He was wonderful, the Shaw is not the best musical venue, yet his voice was clear and beautiful, if you can sound that good with such poor acoustics, you can sound good anywhere! Sang some wonderful old favorites and some new soon to be favs , had everyone up dancing well into the night
