Cortéo—an Italian word meaning "cortège" or procession—was a contemporary circus show about a clown who watches his own funeral taking place in a carnival-like atmosphere. It was partly inspired by The Grand Parade: Portrait of the Artist as Clown on display at the National Gallery of Canada.
Not as exciting or original as other Cirque performances that I have been to.
Amazing feats, a fantastic story and audience participation. The live music and singing was wonderful.
II was one of a party 4, and all of us felt the same way. I was told it’s normally a three hour show and has been condensed two hours. Possibly the fact that much of it was in a foreign language we had no idea what the story line was supposed to be about. My only clue was that I had researched reviews on my phone five minutes before the show started. However, the performers and aerobics were wonderful along with the staging and backdrops.
Acrobatics performances were good but entire show/theatrics weren't really my thing.
I bring my granddaughter with me each time I go to the circ both of us look so forward to it every time. It is insane to watch the performers do thinks we can only dream about. The trust between performers most be though the roof. We will be back again thanks so much.
Nearly flawless. Choreography and effects are impressive
I would have preferred English to get the most of the show and the Romeo and Juliet scene wasn’t for me otherwise a great show with impressive talent
The show was great, maybe too much clown acting and less acrobatics and special effects, but still nice. Rogers Place in Edmonton dissapointed. The prices of drinks and food were brutal: who can pay $30 for a cocktail and $15 for a small beer?
Our family truly enjoyed our first Cirque experience. The dedication of the performers to their work, the general story told and the great humour included was loved by all.
I’ve seen a lot of show from Le Cirque du Soleil and I enjoyed them all, including Corteo. Compared to the previous ones, I have to say it wasn’t the best. The music is good but the energy during the show is low. Artists are spectacular but it’s the rythm of the show that is the problem.
It wasn’t one of the best Cirque shows that I’ve seen by far and way too many clown acts.
Cirque du Soleil will never be not good (in my opinion) but Corteo was the least engaging and entertaining one I’ve seen. It’s also the least interesting for young kids.
The superb athletes taking part was amazing. Would have liked some introduction to the story line at the beginning would have been helpful.
I love Cirque de Soleil! And I never miss a show when they perform in my city. Corteo is a charming performance with a little Spanish influence mixed in. I enjoyed every minute.
Incredible family outing for myself, husband, 17 & 20 year old sons. Magical set with talented artists including musicians. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Corteo was an amazing show, excellent performances and stunning acrobatics had us enthralled for most of the show. There's a part where there's a friendly lady jumping around over the audience with balloons to keep her afloat, amazing. The decors, amazing, the show was great. the only thing we didn't like were the cheap seats. We shelled out for the seats pretty much against the stage. The location was great, but the seats were really low so my kids had trouble seeing the stage sometimes. As well as that they were simple folding chairs, for which I paid a serious penny.
This was an amazing show from start to finish! It was very family friendly and the quality of the set and the performers were top rate!
Out seats should have been good ones but because of the 360 stage, which sounds great, but what it does is shrink the stage making what you see on your side very small. You also end up waiting while the other side is being entertained. Members in our party left at intermission. It was disappointing and boring.
I am not sure why I didn't like it. I found it just too much going on at the stage with the beds and found it boring. Just didn't engage me enough. I left after 30 mins. I have always been a fan of cirque du soilei but for some reason this one didn't do it for me.
