    Underwhelming

by ChloesCheerMom on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This was my first Cirque show. I was disappointed and underwhelmed. The show itself was not the spectacular that I was expecting, very little in the way of acrobatics, stunts etc, and those that they had were standard street performer quality. I knew the story beforehand but it was almost impossible to follow and the characters made silly noises rather than speaking, which was altogether irritating. The pace was slow and even the grand finale was not all that grand. Overall a complete waste of time and money.

    An amazing show

by Peggydundun on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

It is different from the traditional circus show. It has combined the skills and the beauty together to provide a feast of visual. It is really amazing.

    Almost fell asleep

by Nikl on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The comedy acts were too long and were funny enough for children but certainly not for adults. The acts themselves were not impressionable except for the baton girl and final stunt act. I've seen better performances at resort shows.

    Amazing performance

by Sqam on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I enjoyed the performance from beginning to end. The acrobatics were amazing and the singers terrific. I would see a gain and recommend the show to others.

Costumes and music in Varekai was amazing!

by Lovenjoy on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I loved the venue - Air Canada Centre - it was awesome visibility, air conditioned and easy to come by TTC. I have enjoyed the comedy pieces specially - when the guy was singing No me quite pas and running around trying to catch the light. Well done and laughed so much. Story about Varekai ( meaning ' wherever' in gypsy language ) has been really good. At he beginnig Icarus fell into magical forrest and MAGIC started to evolve in front of our eyes.. Scene depicted magical world of Varekai magnificently.( with colors, music, costumes). Everyone should go to that imaginanary world. Felt so good! Loved costumes, music and many acrobatic acts. Really well done and looking forward to see other shows like this one.

    Expectations NOT met at all.

by shoponlinemama on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

We had high expectations as I think everyone does and to be honest we were highly disappointed. Our 8 year old even referenced that she has seen MORE tricks on So You Think You Can Dance and America's Got Talent. The "side show/clown" act grew tiresome after a while. NOT because they weren't cute but because you just wanted to "get back to the show" and they reminded me of what the Shrine Circus is lacking. We've scratched it off our Bucket List but would never go back or recommend it.

    Disappointing - Very!

by Fernandinha on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

If you are a person that knows a little bit about dance, circus and art, you will notice that this presentation although awesomely staged is very poor in terms of choreography and the circus part itself. The interesting parts of the show were very repetitive, and the "extra" people doing dance and some background were very very weak. There was too much dance and little circus. Only a few dance moves were actually impressive, and they spent way too much time on the floor rolling themselves like a 6 year old. If I wanted a dance show - and a decent one - I would have gone to the Opera Ballet or else. I expected more body challenge or something closer to what gymnasts do at the Olympics (proving it is possible), but no, the moves were very basic, for professionals of intermediate level. Cirque du Soleil Does not have the privilege to present something intermediate. It is very expensive and known to bring this to the public. There were a lot of "time killers" which although were funny, it was not what I went there to see. These time killers took about half of the show time, which in the end became very very very boring and uninteresting. Not worth my money.

    OK

the performance was OK compared to the first Varekai performance which came to Toronto several years ago. I was a bit disappointed with the performance. Nothing to brag about.

    Varekai was stunning!!

by Merc53 on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This is my fourth attendance at several different performances and each time I am blown away with the stunning abilities of the performers and the absolutely beautiful costumes! I only wish that they had the photo opportunity with a colourful backdrop like they had in Toronto with the umbrellas.

    Not as impressive as Kurious.

by Vasantha on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Mediocre show. Not as elaborate as Kurious. Varekai also seemed to lack a good plot.

mediocre compared to other Cirque shows

by lolalauw on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Went to see this with my fiance as we go see Cirque every time they're in town. We both thought this was lacking in terms of attraction or cool acrobatics, compared to all the ones we have seen in the past like Amaluna, Kurios, etc. I thought this was on the same level as Michael Jackson, which was disappointing. Varekai was more theatrical (not much crazy tricks or circus), more filler entertainment (the "clowns" that were supposed to be entertaining) than actual circus/acrobatics. They were getting really annoying as they do the same thing every show, take people's popcorn and throws them at audience. It's getting old and annoying. I would not be happy if it was me they throw popcorn at. There were maybe max.4 scenes where they were doing cool tricks that only lasted a few minutes, the rest was mediocre for the price we pay. Maybe if this was your first Cirque you may find it better, but definitely not the best. They need to come up with something new.

    Biggest Waste of Money

by KittyKittyCat on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This was absolutely the worst performance I have ever seen! There was very little acts that were "Cirque de Soleil" worthy and way too much silly filler. Very young children may find this show funny but as adults, we found it absolutely ridiculous and it was a very long two hours.

    Paid Disappointment

by CrystalG44 on 2015-09-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

We had went to see Amaluna previously and were totally amazed, so when we seen another show was coming to town, we were excited and decided to purchase tickets. The show was nowhere near as good as Amaluna, I felt it was very hard to follow the story line, the character voices were very annoying, the stunts were nowhere near as good as Amaluna and therefore we left feeling like we wasted a good amount of money.
