    Varekai at the ACC

by poupine on 2015-09-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Simply not the same atmosphere nor excitement at the ACC versus under the tent. Although we paid good money for our seats the lighting shone directly in our eyes blinding our vision and the illumination cast a gray steely glow over the stage. The colors were not as vibrant nor the atmosphere electric like it was under the big tent. I have seen every single Cirque show, including the Vegas productions since they started (believe it or not the very first one in Quebec City) and never have I thought I would not go to another one. Maybe Vegas, but never again at the ACC.

    Cirque de soleil

by shynorthern on 2015-09-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I will not be going to another Cirque de soleil event again My god it was awful. there was 5 of us and non of us enjoyed the show. The whole show was more silliness instead of seeing them doing acrobat/.

    Varakei - Cirque Du Soliel

by EllaGladstone on 2015-09-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The show was fabulous. For my next show, I know to go to the evening show and to try to get seats on the floor. People are rude and a lot of people did not show up until almost the end of the first half of the show. This meant we had to miss portions of the show and block other people around us. Some people were taking pictures even though it was clearly announced and written on our tickets. There was a white light that was shining in my face during the second half - it seemed to me that it was probably supposed to be blue like the other lights around it. The light was very bright and annoying.

    Better under the Big Top

by tdddckr on 2015-09-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I am not sure if it was the limitations of venue or the actual show but Varekai at the Air Canada Centre was not up to the standard of our previous Cirque under the big top experience. Cirque appears to be cutting $$ and lowering the content level of the show, less action and excitement. Did find myself waiting for it to end.

    Varekai Was A Magical Experience

by Anonymous on 2015-09-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I took my son, daughter, son-in-law and brother to this performance, it was a birthday gift for everyone. My daughter and son-in-law have been to a past performance went I sent them to see Kurios last year and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. This was a first time for my son and brother and they loved the whole performance. I have now seen 5 shows and enjoyed 4 of them immensely. I love going to these kind of performances and seeing the live acts. There are so many talented people and they make it fun and entertaining to watch as they fly through the air.

Varekai was okay compared to other CDS shows

by Marlz on 2015-09-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This was my 8th Cirque du Soleil show and I found it slow in the beginning with just 1 good act in the first half. The second half was better but overall I have seen much more entertaining shows from them.

A lot of fun! I've always wanted to see Cirque de Soleil live, and I very much enjoyed the Varekai show. It's a real wonder what the human body can do, not to mention the precision and athletic prowess of these performers.

    too much slapstick

by GordonWH on 2015-09-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The acrobats etc. were outstanding, but there was far too much "slapstick style comedy" in this production, which is not what I wanted from a Cirque show. I have chosen not to recommend to a friend as most of my friends would not like the slapstick. If you are a fan of this type of humour however then you should go and see this show, otherwise it probably isn't for you.

    My favorite Show Yet

by Fidcas on 2015-09-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I had an amazing time at this show. The stage was brilliant how it was set up and kept that circus style feel that you love at Cirque. The clowns (or roving entertainers) were brilliant. One reminded me greatly of a character from movies that was just brilliant. The performers were spot on and the shows were different than the usual ones. The costumes and colours were so vibrant. Highly recommend.

    Meh.

by Savi123 on 2015-09-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

It does not compare to other Cirque shows. There was nothing 'stand out' about it. It is definitely not worth 80$ a ticket. See another Cirque show- any other one.

    vareko

by patla on 2015-09-07Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I was very disappointed. it seemed to take forever for the show to "start" but I finally realized this was as good as it was going to get. It was nothing like the shows for cirque in the 90's. I paid for 3 tickets and we drove for 2.5 hours each way. I wanted to leave before the first half was over but waited it out. I should have left. it was a very diluted version of the 3 shows I saw over a six year period in the 90's and wouldn't spend a nickel on it again. :(

    Varekai, Varekai Awesome?

by themom38 on 2015-09-07Air Canada Centre - Toronto

We were worried by the intermission that this was just a gymnastics performance but by the end we were in AWE. The cast of this performance was entertaining vibrant and extremely enthusiastic. It was plain to see that they LOVE their job. I enjoyed this so much and would love to go again. It's lots of fun for the whole family!

Not the best Cirque show I have been to.

by MellaBella on 2015-09-07Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I think this Cirque would have been better under the big top. The show was okay but it seemed to be missing something. I would have liked to see more aerial acts and the story starts off very slow.
