Over the years we have seen Colin more than 20 times, this past concert was fabulous, Colin was the best as usual our only complaint is the other audience members. First Ontario Theatre Hall now allows patrons to bring their drinks into the Hall itself meaning people got up to use the washroom or they got up to get more alcohol all of which was VERY disruptive to other audience members - will think twice about going to this venue again.
When I returned home and went thru my concert ticket stubs I realized I have to see Colin James four times.I must say that he and his band members have not disappointed me in the least.Even though his band has changed over the years.Yes I would definectly go and see them again in the right venue,ROO. Please excuse the spelling for it has been some time.
Took my staff as a surprise outting. We very from ages 17-62. We all loved the show!! Wanted to get up & dance but told by usher to "sit down " LOL!
Always a great venue! First time seeing Colin James live, one of the best concerts I've been to. Opening act could easily have carried an entire show!
Wow! What a great guitarist. Although his voice is amazing as well. His new material continues to show his growth and confidence as a musician. It was a touch too loud, I thought this was because I am getting a little older but many people leaving said the same thing "great show, just a little to loud" NOTE to sound man - it doesn't always have to be at 11.
`Please, Colin, come back to the eastern hemisphere after your tour out West. I was so impressed with your concert and your band, that I would follow you anywhere at this point.
Very solid performance by one of my favorite Canadian artists and to be at Massey Hall that was the icing on the cake. Sound system was spot on and there was dancing in the seats for some of the songs. A good mix of old tunes from past albums to new ones. When I heard "Why'd You LIe" it sent shivers up my spine.
The show was amazing! He rocked Massey Hall. I look forward to seeing him again next year. Colin James and his band are so tight it's a pleasure.
My wife and I really enjoyed the show! 2nd time seeing Colin. Way better this time around. Doing the Blues was a outstanding choice. I think we were both more impressed with the opening act (Tami Neilson and her band) They ROCKED and Tami's vocals was dynamite! If you never seen her live you better have at it!
Have always loved Colin James. Seeing him on Saturday night was amazing! Looking forward to him coming back!
Amazing, amazing!! He is so talented, awesome guitarist!
From his opening number to the end of his second encore, Colin James reminded me why I love his music. Whatever style he chooses to play. He is a master musician and knows how to make any song his own.
I have been a huge fan of Colin James ever since I was a child. My dad played his music all the time. He bought me a gift certificate for a local music store for Christmas and the first album I ever bought for myself was Colin James and the little big band. When I found out his blue highways tour was coming here I jumped all over it. Brought my dad and sister with me and we had a blast. I was even looking for tickets to see him again in kitchener or hamilton. Unfortunately couldn't find decent seats. I would highly recommend this show!! If he ever tours through again I would not hesitate to go again. My dad said after the show "he was an amazing guitarist 30 years ago and he's only gotten better" I loved that he not only played his new songs but a bunch of the songs that made me love him in the first place. Absolutely amazing show!!
Colin James sounds like I remember. Vocals still strong and energetic. Masey Hall is an awesome venue for any performance.
As always Colin James was amazing, would see him a dozen times if possible.
An amazing concert, even for someone in the throes of wicked menopause symptoms. Tight band and all favourites covered. Several encores. Sound was a bit distorted and sound check could have lowered the volume - not needed in such an amazingly acoustic place like Massey Hall. Colin James never fails to impress - one of the most amazing guitarists around - and he's Canadian, eh? Can't wait until he plays Toronto again! PS - Opening act of Tami Neilson amazing as well! What a treat to hear her in person.
The Southern Blues riffs wailing from Colins guitar, that oh so soulful bass, and harmonica rhythms make it difficult to sit in your seat because it will move you. Pick up the vinyl while you're there. Lots from the new album, but some old faves as well ( mine being " Why'd You Lie). Three en cores pretty much sums it up.
This guy is amazing his guitar playing is incredible and he plays the old standards exactly the same ... you get what you want to hear
Colin James can make a guitar talk to you. His band members are also stellar at the instruments they play. I am never disappointed by Colin James. Sit back and move to the music. Awesome!
