I think it was one of the best performances that I have ever attended. We have seen Colin James perform more times than I can count, but we had never been to the Hamilton Place Studio. So initimate - very exciting - my face hurt after because I was smiling through the entire concert. Tom Wilson was an added bonus as I am a fan of his too.
Overall a great show in a relaxed setting with some great songs played by a guitar master and his band!
If you ever get an opportunity to see a concert at The Studio in Hamilton go. It is a very small venue and there are no bad seats. When you get to see a great Canadian artist like Colin James order your tickets immediately. Colin James accoustic with a little bit of electric and friends joing him on stage. He knows how to play a mean guitar (several) and sing the blues. Mike Wilson a Canadian songwriter and his opening soloist Chris (sorry can't remember the last name) joined him on stage. Chris played with him the whole time, and I am sure we'll hear more from him in the near future. I did miss the full on band however as i would have loved to get up and party but it was either not the crowd or the accoustic vibe holding everyone back. Colin really rocked the house at Massey Hall last year and it was awesome! Nice stage banter as well.
The concert was fantastic. Colin's voice and his talent with the guitar(s) shone through. I could listen to him sing the phone book. The added benefit of having Tom Wilson coming on for a few songs really added to the atmosphere. Everything he did was phenomenal
One of the best live music shows we have ever seen, Colin James and his band sounded amazing.It seemed very up close and personal,we would definately see it again and absolutely recomend it to our friends
The acoustics in the studio are the best I have ever heard and Colin was superb as usual, Tom Wilson was a nice touch and Chris Cabbel has a great voice. This format was awsome.
Saw Colin last night in Hamilton, Up Close and Personal tour. Excellent show as always. Always see Colin anytime he comes to Hamilton or the surrounding area. Always puts on a great show and show such tremendous talent. Last night was a great show, great stories behind all his hits. I love the way you can see the passion in his face when he plays guitar. Absolutely one of the great guitar players around.
Simple set, low lighting (small table lamp on table on stage was a nice touch). Sound was great & seats close to stage so you could pick up nuances. First time at James concert w/o Big Band...new & refreshing. Chris (?) Caddell (?) accompanied Colin & did a great job...sort of a Bob Seger sound. Worth the drive to Drayton!
I had never seen Colin in concert although I have so many of his CD's. I was not disappointed - he was just great! Now I can't wait until I have another opportunity to experience him live. I had the feeling Mr. James would not have done a tour with anyone other than one who was also very talented and as I expected, Chris Cadell was very good.
Magical acoustics! A great venue to hear and feel Colin's voice and music. Chris was phenomenal to play with him without any encumbrance. A great duo. I only wish I wasn't so excited to be there so I could actually observe the fretwork.
Loved the small venue and so close to home . It was intimate and the sound was great. Wonderful choice of songs and Chris was a nice compliment to Colin's style.
The show was a great acoustic experience - very intimate and up close and personal. Loved it!
An amazing concert,,,,too short! Colin's voice and guitar playing were stellar. I am so proud to say that he is a Canadian and a talented one at that. The setting was intimate; Colin made you feel like an old friend who just came over to visit. Chris Caddell was amazing too and he and Colin perfectly complemented each other. One of the best events I've seen and will long stay in my memory.

This show was amazing very entertaining. Chris Caddell is sooo very talented I can hardly wait to go to itunes and get some of his music. Colin James never disappoints. The sound was great the venue was cozy and the evening was terrific. I loved this accoustic show.
The hall was supberb for sound and view, not a bad seat in the house. Colin and Chris put on a show that should not be missed by guitar players and fans. They showed how things should be done the right way. Thanks Colin for a great night out
I have seen Colin many times but never acoustic. As always he never diappoints!! As i was listening to feloow fans before the show freinds were talking...wonder why he's not main stream (radio). Her friend answered " He bolongs to us (Canadians) I would have to agree. However, Congradulations on your new record contract!!! Chris Caddell.....WOW!! His voice was ....an old soul..... from a young man. He also complimented Colin's voice very well, hopefully the 2 will record something together!! Again thanks for a great night of music!! Look forward to some new music and future shows!
I have loved Colin James since the 80's. I already own so many of his albums, It was great to hear my favorites as well as some tunes I hadn't heard before. He is so talented on the guitar and he sings with such ease. He makes the blues fun!
Wonderful performance. Sang and played amazing. He still got it! :)
I love that he's just getting better & better every time I see him now and that he brings new or lesser known talent to his shows.
