Fantastic show!!! Not only was Colin AMAZING, Chris Caddell was also Great. Could have sat thru another 2 hours!!!
Colin James is one of Canada's best R & B - Blues guitar players in my books! His performance is always jump in your seat and get on the floor you can't help but rock to this guy's amazing guitar! His rendition of old blues melts your soul his own stuff the best of the best classic rock and blues. I have seen him twice before and have never been disappointed, his music is timeless and he himself a class act. I wish he came around more often to our province
Despite the pouring rain and cold weather people flocked out to see Colin's concert and nobody went home dissapointed. Great songs, great atomosphere and ubelievable guitar playing!!! This guy can really make the guitar sing!!!
Colin James is by far one of the best guitarist around. Seeing him in the smaller venue was fantastic.
The rain did not dampen this concert. Great seats! Song after song after song. Cute in black, boots and all!! Please come back next year - well worth the hour drive!!!!!
It was a rainy night, but that didn't dampen the bands spirits. Colin is a suberb guitar player and has a lot of energy on stage .The rest of the band are also excellent! In spite of poor weather he really got the crowd going and had an excellent time!
I've seen Colin James with his Little Big Band before, but never for his blues/rock. AWESOME show!!! He's an amazing artist, and I'll definitely go to see him whenever he's in or around London!!
Great rock music, well played by talented musicians. Had hoped for more of his blues songs excellent vocals and instrumentals
Awesome show. Have followed Colin James since the 80's, seen him with the Little Big Band, however had not seen him with this rock/blues band. Awesome show. Incredible voice! Our kids went, 14 and 19, went up into the "PIT". They were delighted that we took them. Our daughter pondered that she wishes she was born when the "good music" started.
Concert in Winnipeg. We had very high expectations for this concert and are fans of Colin James. This concert was a flop. Mr. James seemed too interested in his various guitars to notice that a couple of the band members were out of sync and out of tune.
This is my second time going to a Radio for Radiology concert! The first one with Lighthouse and Bachman/Cummings was amazing! Casino Rama has a great concert facility and I enjoy going for many different performances. I really like Colin James music have liked it for many years and was very excited about seeing him for the first time! He started off fine but he played way too many not very popular songs and I truly believe he lost the interest of the audience. It all sounded the same! A steady stream of people continued walking out about halfway through his performance. I had never seen that before. He really didn't get the audience involved at all! He never played his big hit "5 long years", which was shocking! The audience was streaming out the doors during his encore song! It was a very disappointing performance! It was really too bad ! On a good note I thought Trooper did a great job opening....singing all their hits and even a new song! They participated well with the audience....everybody, including myself seem to have had a great time.....their music brings you back in time and I think people love that! The Radio for Radiololgy is a fantastic cause and I will definitely continue to support it anyway I can!
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the concert. I loved seeing Trooper as I had never seen them perform before and thought it was wonderful that they came out on intermission for autographs and sold t-shirts, hats, etc. I would really like it if Colin James would put some t-shirts, etc on sale. I have seen him 3 times now and have never seen anything on sale of his. Thanks for a Great Time!!!
Show was promoted as a "double bill" therfore should have been equal playing time...it was not. Trooper had the place ROCKIN' with everybody on their feet. Then Colin came out and [Please dont get me wrong I like his music and I do know he is a "blues singer" have seen him before] but he came out and preceeded to play very slow, bring me down put everybody to sleep music [one look around... and I found more than one that had nodded off and MANY MANYpeople yawning and TRYING to stay awake] He did Pick things up EVENTUALLY but He should have played FIRST and Trooper SECOND! That would have been much better
A great event to raise funds for Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. When the hospital's CEO Janice Skot got up on stage there were a few boo's as they had recently announced layoffs during staff appreciation week. Colin James has such a range and smooth tones that emanate from his guitar and voice, running the gambit of blues, country and rock material that left something for everyone in the audience, mostly in the 50+ range, but normal for the casino crowd. A Fender Squire Strat that he signed fetched over $3000 for the auction event. Looking forward to next year's line up.
Colin put on a great show, playing a good mix of new and old music. He truly is a Canadian music icon. It was the sixth time we see him and he always amazes us with his ability to play. Trooper was the opening act and they also rocked. The venue at Casino Rama is great for a concert.
A very enjoyable night at Casino Rama. Colin James was at his usual best and Trooper still have it! Most importantly, it as all for a very good cause in supporting Royal Victoria Hospital. Great place to see a concert. Not a bad seat in the house!
I go to a lot of concerts, so I'm used to volume, but Trooper's volume level was crazy. In fact I had to leave the auditorium for a while it was that bad. They covered all their commercial hits and some new material, but the volume level totally distracted from my enjoyment. They played for about 1 hour. There was unfortunately a announced 10-15 minute break between acts, which, as you can likely guess turned in 25 minutes. It was really frustrating as the stage was reset to go for Colin within the 15 minutes. Colin James put on his usual great show. A real musician with a very tight and talented band. The volume was at an enjoyable level. On stage with encore for about 1:15. Unfortunately Rama is not a great venue to any concert. The crowd tends to be older and they are kinda stuck in their seats. Then if they don't recognize the songs being played they start leaving in hordes (maybe the slot machines are calling, or its past their bedtime).
BOTH GROUPS PUT ON A GOOD SHOW. TROOPER WAS RESPECTABLE.THEIR LEAD GUITAR WAS A BIT OFF A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT STILL ENJOYABLE. COLIN JAMES WAS AMAZING. AWESOME GUITAR PLAYER AND VOCALS. TIGHT BAND. VERY GOOD.
Enjoyed Trooper the most. Even after the show, they were very personable and did the autographs for people. Although I enjoyed Colin James music, I really went for Trooper. They have a lot more energy. I did however enjoy both.
