Excellent venue that was a great performance by CCR more than i expected. Will suggest to anyone to go to a concert at River Cree
I thought the lead guitar player from the Cars was superb. The lead singer Johnny did his usual decent job of trying to fill Fogerty's shoes. I see them every time they come through town, usually very upbeat fast tempo throughout the show but I think they are choosing the right time to hang it up. Father time is catching up with Cosmo and Stu. All in all a decent show from 2 very classy Rock and Roll Gods.
CCR got right into the performance and never missed a beat! Non stop entertainment and a top notch performance from the band even without John Fogurty. Great venue for the performance, don’t believe that there is such a thing as a bad seat in the house! Looking forward to seeing future concerts here!!
The show was short but a good one, i pay for one hour show which cost me an arm and leg. hahaha! lil longer show next time.
Creedence Clearwater Revisited hit all the right notes and played most of their blockbuster hits on Friday, July 26 at the Grey Eagle Casino in Calgary. I always like it when a concert starts at the advertised time, and this one did to the minute. After listening to the first 2 songs without the vocals pumped out to the front rows, it was party and sing along time. With two of the original Revival members (Stu Cook and Doug Cosmo Clifford) touring as the Revisited group now, the addition of guitarist Kurt Griffey and now the lead singer Dan McGuinnes along with percussionist Steve Gunner are a solid reproduction of some great music that John Fogerty wrote and created. Thanks for taking us down memory lane. We enjoyed the show immensily.
Lots of fun, bought back lots of memories. Knew every song. Only negative was the sound, could not hear singer the 1th - 3 songs! Audience members had to go tell the sound board guys to turn up the volume on his mic, then they turned it up too much & it was too loud but better than not being able to hear. Shame on you Grey Eagle for not doing a sound check. If it wasn't for the excellent performance the concert would of been spoiled.
The concert was good. They played all of my favourites, however. I find the venue really crammed and the show pretty short. We also went to Boney M and the concert was over really fast.
They were great as always! So sad this is their final tour😭. My only wish is they played longer
Seats are all great. Sound is good. CCR best music ever. Wish there was more
Venue was great! Didn’t realize that 2 of the band members of CCR were still in this band!!! Great music, great memories!
Totally loved and enjoyed the show. The experience hearing them live brought me back to my teens making me feel young and full of energy, loved every minute of it thanks to RIVERCREE YEAY BABY
Love you guys seen you seven yrs ago and just now at the River Cree and will always love your music
Been several times and always good, this time no exception. However one hour plus a little is not cool. Ticket prices the same, still travelled as always to support them, would appreciated the heads up prior to purchasing tickets the show would be short. Although the songs remain, we feel bitten by the band ..
I really love all of CCR’s songs. The music is so good, it’s timeless! I was, however, disappointed with 2 things...the line to get into the venue & the length of the show. We didn’t even get into the show on time, due to the length of the line & CCR was already playing once we got through. I was going to splurge & buy the $300+ tickets. I’m so glad I didn’t as the show was over in 80 minutes!! By the time we got to our seats, after standing in line to get admitted, we saw about 60 minutes! I would’ve been severely ticked off if I had spent a ton of money & expected a 2 hour show!
Basic no frills show, they play their hits, have a lot of fun with it. You better be cool with old people, there's lots of them.
Have wanted to see them for years. It was an amazing concert. The band members are so talented. I would recommend them in a second!!!
I had no idea CCR had two original members. What a pleasant surprise. I thought I was going to see a cover band. Great job on lead vocals and a excellent group of musicians. Sound was mixed well. Who needs Fogerty? I would definitely go again and would highly recommend the show. See you next time.
A cover band playing John Fogarty's songs. If they didn't have the name Creedence Clearwater, they'd be playing bars.
Volume was excessive for a somewhat intimate showroom like The Avalon. Have seen The Oak Ridge Boys and Allan Jackson here and sound level for both was much more pleasant. Music frequently drowned out the vocals! Too much filler using the lead guitarist too often. One guitar solo, maybe two, would be acceptable. Obvious that the aim was to provide a one and one half hour show and needed the filler to accomplish. Two original members should let the group fold up because the current show detracts from the good memories of the original Creedence Clearwater Revival.
From their opening song to their final encore song at 1.5 hrs, they sang and played non-stop. We knew every song they sang and their singing was great. The instrumental solos were superb by the very talented band members and there wasn't a dull moment the whole evening. Brought back alot of 60's and 70's era memories for us and we left the venue happy and thoroughly entertained. Would go again and recommend to everyone interested in CCR's music.
