About

Cyndi Lauper is a pop singer and activist from Queens, New York. Upon the release of her 1983 debut album, She’s So Unusual, Lauper became a pop sensation, thanks to the success of Top 5 singles including “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Time After Time,” “She Bop” and “All Through the Night.” Lauper also won Best New Artist at the 1985 Grammys. Her second and third albums, True Colors (1986) and A Night to Remember (1989), added more hit singles like “True Colors” and “I Drove All Night” to her oeuvre and by the end the decade, Lauper had become synonymous with the ’80s new wave movement and synthpop sound. In addition to her twelve solo albums, Lauper also wrote the music and lyrics for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots, for which she became the first solo woman to ever win the Tony for Best Original Score. In the fall of 2024, the singer embarked on her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour in conjunction with her documentary film LET THE CANARY SING.

  • Cyndi Lauper at Budweiser Stage Toronto

by Leaving dissapointed on 2025-07-30Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Two of my friends and I went to Cyndi Lauper July 27, 2025. The venue is great (aside from the wet lawn - it hadn't rained in days, and no sign of rain/water anywhere else except the lawn. It was very gross). When Cyndi finally sang she belted out the songs wonderfully. The unfortunate part was that she would ramble exceedingly long narratives between each song. We could barely make out what she was saying. This left us (and the crowd around us) bored and disinterested. I have been to that venue several times, and have seen many concerts. This was one of, if not the, most dissapointing that I have attended. And with a wet bum (we had a plastic coated blanket but whatever the water was it soaked thru), sticky shoes, and a strange smell. It will take a lot for me to go back there again. that I can still smell.

  • Beautiful and worth watching. Cindy is a total performer.

I love the whole band and Cindy nailed it! The crowd are well entertained.

  • My favourite summer venue

I love Budweiser Stage, for these reasons but not limited to: - so many great shows! - excellent acoustics; - it's outdoors! - easy to access by transit; - efficient entry process - well laid out - lots of choice of refreshments

Love her ! She’s fantastic ! Great show! She has so much energy! She still got it !!

  • Cyndi Lauper was amazing. The GO needs work.

by Lori on 2025-07-30Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was awesome. The GO train experience was awful. The train arrived so full that no one could get on the train safely. There were some large arguments because of it. We had to wait for the very last GO train after midnight with concern that we would be stranded. Not a lot of staff to assist.

  • Excellent show

by CDC on 2025-07-30Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent show. Cyndi Lauper still had that beautiful characteristic singing style. (There was even one a cappella song, and others with minimal instruments.) The band was equally excellent, the guitar player and the drummer both stole the instrumentals. Lauper seems a very genuine and appreciative person. She thanked so many people, and even invited Jake Wesley Rogers (he is the opening band) to sing with her.

  • Girls Just Want To Have Fun

by Cheryl on 2025-07-30Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

From loving this song and Cyndi Lauper growing up to seeing her live at Budweiser most certainly did not disappoint. At 72 still amazing!!

  • Sound not good

by Poor sound on lawn on 2025-07-30Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Cyndi had maybe a bit too much talking and not enough singing. Was difficult to hear her vocals on lawn. Band was fine but overwhelmed her sound. Seems a mixing problem

  • Wow

by Crazycoot on 2025-07-30Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

She was so wonderful- creative and engaging- what a great show! Had lawn tickets but found a space in the mud! It didn’t matter

  • Good night out

    by Tiffany1089 on 2025-07-30Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

She still has a powerhouse voice! Went off on some long stories but still had a lot of fun. The venue could use "fake turf"instead of patches of mud for the lawn seats. And chairs should be guided back for rentals instead of infront of others on blankets

  • Love it she is amazing

by Cindy on 2025-07-30Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Cindy didn’t disappoint she is funny and amazing singer and she still dances like she did in her 20s. The sound was a bit off audio needed some work. 2 people were arrested before it even started shocking

The concert was amazing. Cyndi is a once in a lifetime persona. Had a fantastic Girls’ Night!! Thrilled to be introduced to Lu Kala. Great local talent. One question - Scotiabank Centre - what is with taking the caps from purchased water bottles?

  • So much fun and joy!

by Monika on 2024-10-25Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I was at the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour in Toronto and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was very positive and they played all the hit songs from Cyndi Lauper's discography. Cyndi Lauper herself is a very good performer and storyteller. Every time a song was done, she would talk about the history behind a song, the challenges she faced, or just talk about a funny story that happened to her in the past. If this is truly the last time that she is going on tour, then I highly recommend checking out her final shows. I had nosebleed seats for her concert and I still had such a fun time. I was also more of a casual fan before her show, but after going to the Farewell Tour it made me want to dig deeper into Cyndi Lauper's discography. Overall, Cyndi Lauper was fantastic live! Go see her while she's still touring!

  • Magical

    by tsk524 on 2024-10-25Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was such a special show. Cyndi was incredible, the band was amazing, and the screens made the show enjoyable no matter where you were sitting. I love that they used the centre stage for part of the show as well. If you have a chance to see this tour, please go! It’s so much fun and it’s your last chance to see her on tour.

  • She's on fire

Great lighting show. Cyndi Lauper sang from her heart. Hard to understand and make out what she was saying.
