About

Men Without Hats formed in Montreal, Canada in 1977 and developed their distinctive synth-heavy, new wave sound ahead of their 1982 debut album Rhythm of Youth. The album’s second single “The Safety Dance” topped Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart and peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100, remaining on the chart for 24 weeks. The band’s 1987 effort Pop Goes the World garnered similar success behind the album’s title track, which hit No. 20 on the Hot 100 and was later inducted to the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame along with “The Safety Dance.” Men Without Hats reconvened after a decade-long hiatus in 2003, led by founding member Ivan Doroschuk, and have released three more albums of original material including 2012’s Love in the Age of War and 2022’s Again, Part 2.

So fun. Great crowd, all having a great time. Especially loved the slowed-down version of song Safety Dance. Really liked the lightening of the Men Without Hats logo above the stage and on the ceiling, so cool.

  • Too much standing

Great concert, but my legs felt like jello after it. The venue is basically a standing only venue. Love the intimacy of the venue, but I can’t stand for that long. Great concert in itself.

  • Great love!

Amazing live!! Good time and dancing!! They sang all the hits!

  • Fantastic energy....super fun evening!!!!

2nd show I have been to, here in Ottawa. We enjoyed the show last year, so we bought tickets as soon as this show was announced. It was a fabulous 80's filled evening. My only negative comment is that the show started late and they had a ready great DJ, who had the place dancing...then suddenly the DJ says ...I'm done, the show will start in 20 mins. It would have been nice for the DJ to fill in that 20 mins till the band was ready to take the stage?????

  • A fun experience and I look forward to seeing them again.

My only gripe is the DJ that stands on stage for 40 minutes playing his Spotify playlist for the opening act. The actual show itself was fantastic. If it wasn’t for the DJ it would have been a 5 star rating.

  • Still sound great

They still sounded great sound. Lead singer has a great voice, but they were an hour late and their show was on the short side. Great energy though so overall, a good show.

  • Lots of fun

Both Men Without Hats and the Spoons were fantastic! Loads of energy and I had fun dancing to the classic New Wave sound. Honeymoon Suite was very distorted and the singer lost his voice about three songs in.
